I am so okay with this, hahaha. One thing I've been really hoping for is for the quests themselves to spawn other player plots and further quests and delicious shenanigans, and I'm excited that it's already inspired something!

What I'd suggest you do is do an OOC plotting post once the game gets into gear, and recruit some players who want to join in on the plot. The ones who accomplish the quest itself can get the IC reward, but the accomplishment of the quest will be such that it'll spawn more quests because of how it happened.
