RULES AND REGULATIONS

Check the taken characters and the reserve page to ensure that your character isn't already taken.

We do accept nearly every type of character, including canon, minor, AU, game imports, OCs, fandom OCs, and so forth. There is one canon and one AU version of each character allowed. Especially minor characters may be evaluated as fandom OCs, but are appable under that distinction. Please remove the sections of the application that do not pertain to your character.

You can play up to five characters at one time. Two of those characters can be from the same canon. You may bring in two characters per calendar month, discounting rejections. If you wish to apply for a sixth character overall or a third canonmate, contact us individually.

App challenge policy is as follows: we will wait the length of the reserve for the original reserver to apply, and judge their application first, independently and not comparatively. Only if they are rejected will the challenger be assessed. Without a reserve, apps will be assessed in the order they are received-- again not against each other, but each one at a time.

We would prefer if you do not delete your comments upon rejection or acceptance. Simply ask us and we will screen the entire thread on request for privacy, no explanation necessary.

Applications are checked daily, and assigned to a mod who is best able to assess the application, either because of available time or because they know the fandom best. When necessary, the mods will discuss your application before coming to a decision. Please be patient and allow us time to check and discuss. Some apps will be approved almost immediately, while others may take a little longer. It's not because we don't care, but because we may be having trouble finding someone familiar with your canon, or simply that we're unexpectedly busy.

AU/OC History: If you are applying for an AU version of the character, or an original character, please give a comprehensive description of what your AU or original universe are about and (in the case of an AU) what the differences are between the canon history and your AU. You should include something about what has happened recently before the character comes to the Lost Realm.

Game Import: If your character is being imported from another game, please identify the game and indicate what changes your character will display as a result of development in the game. It’s suggested that you include an overview of major events that have happened to them, and significant CR that they’ve made, but this doesn’t need to be terribly long.

Personality: We have no word count requirement on this, but it should be the bulk of your application.

Powers: This is mandatory for all characters, but does not need to be extensive. A list or bullet point would be fine.

If you are doing a game import, you should include a recent thread from the game. Your application samples should give a representative example of how you’ll be playing the character in this game. We prefer thread links, but will not penalize anyone for providing more standard written samples instead; if we feel we need more material to judge from, we'll ask.

Personality:

Equius is probably the most perverse and messed up character in Homestuck, and that's saying something.

His blood is coloured Royal Blue, one of the highest blood colours there is (second only to the purple shades), and so he is an aristocrat. Like most of the other high b100d trolls, he considers himself to be better than the lower blood trolls and to basically have a constitutional right and/or duty to boss them around. However, there are also people who outrank him, and so he also believes that those people have the right to boss him around as well. In fact, Equius is so devoted to this caste system that it has become something of a fetish for him. He specifically asks Gamzee to order him around at one point, and basically punish him for all of the "bad things" he's done, in a "professional" and non-childish roleplaying scenario, but it doesn't work out very well.

He becomes extremely flustered when people act in ways that don't fit his mental stereotype of how people of their caste should act, and this cognitive dissonance is obviously arousing to him as well. I think that's why he latched onto Aradia so much, because she was one of the lowest-blood, yet she acted refined and dignified instead of base and rough. This inspired fantasies in Equius of raising her up to his status, and a whole elaborate story about how grateful she would be, and how she would become his devoted companion. Of course, it didn't work out that way, since he is so completely socially inept that he didn't consider that forcing her with programming to like him might not go over well, and was, yanno, completely immoral. When Aradia beat the crap out of him, he discovered that he rather liked the role reversal, and proceeded to try to order low-blood trolls to order him around, getting off on it when Karkat issued orders and that sort of thing.

Equius has poor impulse control and a serious anger management problem. He sweats profusely when excited and will fly into an uncontrollable rage if things go wrong (such as if he breaks something) which happens with disturbing regularity. The only thing that can calm him down is an act of violence - either he can break something, or if someone smacks him around or breaks something in his vicinity, it will usually calm him. Like most high blood trolls, Equius has a pretty strong thread of violence running through him, and he is the worst at actually controlling it. Equius is pretty much prey to his rage. He also values physical strength extremely highly, and it affects his typing quirk, making him capitalize the word STRONG and incorporate the concept of 100% wherever he can.

However, he's far from just a big, dumb jock. In fact, Equius is highly educated and extremely intelligent, using long words and good diction in his speech. He is a robotics genius, and can do some pretty amazing things with robots, despite the fact that most of what he does with them is for the purpose of simply destroying them in death matches. He also has an appreciation for Nude Musclebeast Portraits (which is pretty weird and involves paintings of horsecock, but apparently an ancient trollish tradition).

So basically Equius is a big, strong, but smart, troll, who just needs (and wants) a firm hand to keep him under control. A dominatrix would probably do just perfectly, though it would have to be someone with the physical strength to manage it.

His devotion to hierarchy and his desire to be dominated is so strong that he argues with Karkat when ordered to kill Gamzee, saying that he doesn't have the right to try to stop the murder spree of someone of higher blood caste than he. And he doesn't even resist when Gamzee kills him, dying on his knees with a smile on his face, despite the fact that he likely could have broken Gamzee like a twig with his bare hands with ease.

Powers: It's unknown what powers Equius got as the Heir of Void. He doesn't have any game-breaking powers, except that of being e%ceptionally STRONG.
