Application form:
APPLICATIONS ARE ALWAYS OPEN.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Check the taken characters and the reserve page to ensure that your character isn't already taken.

We do accept nearly every type of character, including canon, minor, AU, game imports, OCs, fandom OCs, and so forth. There is one canon and one AU version of each character allowed. Especially minor characters may be evaluated as fandom OCs, but are appable under that distinction. Please remove the sections of the application that do not pertain to your character.

You can play up to five characters at one time. Two of those characters can be from the same canon. You may bring in two characters per calendar month, discounting rejections. If you wish to apply for a sixth character overall or a third canonmate, contact us individually.

App challenge policy is as follows: we will wait the length of the reserve for the original reserver to apply, and judge their application first, independently and not comparatively. Only if they are rejected will the challenger be assessed. Without a reserve, apps will be assessed in the order they are received-- again not against each other, but each one at a time.

We would prefer if you do not delete your comments upon rejection or acceptance. Simply ask us and we will screen the entire thread on request for privacy, no explanation necessary.

Applications are checked daily, and assigned to a mod who is best able to assess the application, either because of available time or because they know the fandom best. When necessary, the mods will discuss your application before coming to a decision. Please be patient and allow us time to check and discuss. Some apps will be approved almost immediately, while others may take a little longer. It's not because we don't care, but because we may be having trouble finding someone familiar with your canon, or simply that we're unexpectedly busy.

If you have any questions about the application process, feel free to contact the moderators directly or ask in the FAQ for clarification.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Include (AU) if applicable.
Series:
Canon Point: If you are applying for the OU version of your character, please give a quick explanation of what point in canon your character will be coming from.
History Link: Please link to a canon source even if your character is an AU! Include a written history only if there isn’t a convenient wiki or other site that gives a good explanation of the canon.

AU/OC History: If you are applying for an AU version of the character, or an original character, please give a comprehensive description of what your AU or original universe are about and (in the case of an AU) what the differences are between the canon history and your AU. You should include something about what has happened recently before the character comes to the Lost Realm.

Game Import: If your character is being imported from another game, please identify the game and indicate what changes your character will display as a result of development in the game. It’s suggested that you include an overview of major events that have happened to them, and significant CR that they’ve made, but this doesn’t need to be terribly long.

Personality: We have no word count requirement on this, but it should be the bulk of your application.

Powers: This is mandatory for all characters, but does not need to be extensive. A list or bullet point would be fine.

Other Details: Anything else you think we should know.

SAMPLES
Please give at least one sample of the character you’re playing. These can be musebox or game threads, or can be written fresh for this application. If you are doing a game import, you should include a recent thread from the game. Your application samples should give a representative example of how you’ll be playing the character in this game. We prefer thread links, but will not penalize anyone for providing more standard written samples instead; if we feel we need more material to judge from, we'll ask.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Eridan Ampora (AU)
Series: Homestuck

AU/OC History:
This AU is loosely based on Hemostuck by roachpatrol and urbanAnchorite, but without any of the supernatural elements or events that happened in the actual story. I did steal several ideas from it, though, and also Be the Sea-Dweller Lowblood.

Eridan is from a version of the troll universe in which the Sufferer's rebellion succeeded. After the Sufferer's torture and death, he became a martyr. Instead of devolving into an obscure and hidden cult, his ideas gained momentum and strength, though much of what he preached about peace and tolerance were lost in the fervour of hatred cast towards the highblood rulers.

In the time of the Summoner, a few centuries later, his rebellion succeeded in deposing the Condesce, and placing a lowblood on the throne instead. This throne has been passed down from rustblood to rustblood (now known as purestbloods, since the reddish colour is closest to the Sufferer's own), over the sweeps. Aradia Megido is the current Luminescence. Karkat is her second in command, a spiritual leader (though he may or may not like it), hailed as the second coming of the Sufferer and basically a god to all of the now-highbloods.

As the highest blood before society went shithive maggots, and the most visible of the oppressors, sea dwelling trolls became not just the lowest trolls on the totem pole (if trolls even HAD totem poles) but third-class citizens. Jobs available to them are generally dangerous, if not outright illegal. They're generally not permitted to carry weapons in public areas, and crimes committed against them are usually discreetly ignored by the authorities.

Lowbloods are also colloquially referred to as 'violent bloods' because of their tendency to flip out. Every troll whose blood is blue or lower is supposed to take sopor pills to keep themselves docile. This generally works, but leaves the troll blissed out and addicted. Eridan refuses to take the pills, unless he's forced to.

Eridan is Feferi's moirail, and lives with her in a ratty hive on a small island not far from the capital city. Both of them lost contact with their lusus and are extremely dependent upon one another. The water is somewhat polluted, which plays hell with their health. Feferi almost never leaves the island, as as a Tyrian blood, they're afraid that she'll either become a rallying point for lowblood rebellion, or be culled as a matter of course in order to prevent her from becoming said rallying point. Eridan is technically a commercial fisherman and deep sea diver, doing odd jobs for the coast guard, etc. He's also generally a go-to guy for any kind of dangerous or violent job that'll pay well. His life basically revolves around survival and protecting Feferi. The latter responsibility is probably the only reason why he hasn't taken a bottle of sopor pills a long time ago, but he's determined to keep her safe as long as he can.

A sweep ago, the Master of Spies, Sollux Captor, took Eridan on as an agent, and also his kismesis. The power imbalance between them is pretty stark, and strictly speaking, Eridan didn't have much choice about it. Eridan rebels in small ways such as by pawning the huge topax spade-shaped ring Sollux gave him, and refusing to actually sleep with Sollux. Despite this, the two are slowly becoming very attached to one another.

Game Import:
Once Eridan was brought to Animus, a lot of things changed for him. Though he didn't get along well with most of the other trolls, for various reasons (mostly because the sea dwellers all think they're highbloods, and the lowbloods like him are all dirt scrappers), he found himself growing very attached to just a few non-trolls. He originally had a problem with Taiki, his first roommate, but became quite protective of him over time. He also met Willow Rosenberg, and over a short time she became his matesprit. The Sollux from his own universe was there for quite some time, too, and their kismessitude blossomed, though he still hasn't let Sollux do more than kiss him.

Though he valiantly tried to stay out of the worst of the horrors of the tower, Eridan did have a few very negative things happen to him. The first was when he found himself in a nightmare version of own world. He witnessed the death of his moirail, Feferi, by hanging from the Gibbet, then was hung beside her as a rebel. The efforts of a few other towermates rescued him from the nightmare before he died, though he was in the hospital for a while.

Eridan despaired of ever having his moirail back, especially after a couple of highblood Feferis had come and gone, and a teal Feferi from RDV came and nearly murdered him. He wrote into the suggestion box at the tower that he would like to have his own Feferi brought to the tower. And that…was not a good idea.

The Tower attempted to accommodate his request, and to bring Feferi there. Unfortunately, this involved Eridan waking up to find a half-dead, mutilated horror of his moirail sitting on his blood-soaked bed. He went completely. Shithive. And began torturing and murdering every tower staff member he could find, hoping to draw out the ones truly responsible for what he concluded was Feferi's true, permanent death. He and Willow were both killed for this infraction, though of course they woke up later, since death wasn't permanent in the tower. With the help of Taiki, he burned Feferi's body and scattered her ashes in the aquarium level.

Eridan suffered a couple of other deaths and dangerous experiences in the tower, but this was the most significant moment for him during the game, and it will affect him for a long time to come.

Personality:
Lowblood prince Eridan is a little more mature than the Eridan in the series. He has benefitted from having a moirail who is totally dependent upon him and couldn't possibly abandon him, and he takes his responsibility to Feferi seriously. Unlike the canon Eridan, he also has a goldblood pursue him romantically, which is a boost to his ego.

Yet Eridan is still fundamentally self-centred. He cares for Feferi because he loves her intensely, but the intensity of his love for her has more to do with his need for her, than for her need for him. He needs to be wanted, and he loves being needed. Feferi is the princess who waits for him, and only him, and so he loves her.

Eridan's entire life is composed of equal parts of saying one big fuck you to the universe, and trying desperately to survive. He is a rogue, a pirate and a scoundrel, and he gets into scraps regularly. He also regularly gets the shit beaten out of him and nearly dies. His judgement isn't exactly stellar, and his pride makes him refuse to back down, even when clearly outmatched. Instead of meekly hiding his fins and bowing down to the highbloods, he wears loud, fashionable clothing, flaunts his fins, and spits in their faces. But then he feels fundamentally beset upon and unfairly victimized when they react by beating him to a pulp.

On a deep level, Eridan still wonders if he's worthy of being loved. He clings to his quadrants with deep ferocity, (even Sollux), but at his core he knows he's a gutterblood, a criminal, a piece of flotsam who probably doesn't even deserve to live. He's done things he isn't proud of, and has had terrible things happen to him that no one but himself and his attackers know of. He reacts to these things in the predictable fashion. But he clings to survival by the skin of his teeth, no matter what he has to do.

Self-interested and self-absorbed as he might be, Eridan isn't an evil or wantonly cruel person. This Eridan never went shithive and killed someone he cared about. He played games of terrorism and talked about rising up against the highbloods as a child, just like his canon counterpart played games of piracy and genocide, but he's rarely actually hurt anyone who hadn't hurt him first. Or at least, threatened to. He has the potential for a good heart somewhere in there, if someone could only get him to stop looking at himself so much as to notice. His job as Sollux' agent sometimes brings him into contact with the worst that their world has to offer, and while he doesn't go around giving charity to those less fortunate than himself, he also doesn't kick someone who's already in the gutter and suffering. At worst, people like that can expect to be ignored or maybe given an uncomfortable sideways glance and perhaps a few words of advice about where to get a hot meal or a bit of help.

Overall, though, Eridan is so busy just trying to survive himself, that he wouldn't be too worried about those who might need his help. He doesn't have a lot of resources to give.

Powers: Eridan really has no special powers, except that Willow has taught him a few magical tricks that he's never really used in game. In Hemostuck, he has some weird zombie-raising ability, but this version of Eridan does not have this ability.

Other Details: This Eridan is not very well-versed with computers, though over time in the tower he learned how to use one and occasionally did post on the network. On the rare occasion that he uses the network he wwrites a fuckin lot like his canon vversion In Lost Realm, he'll probably use the network more often than he did in Animus, because of the ease of using hand-held devices, and the fact that it's a magical mirror, instead of a computer, which he might find easier to use.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Willow Rosenberg
Series: Buffy: the Vampire Slayer
Canon Point: After S7, with no comics canon.
History Link: Link.

Game Import: Willow is being taken from [community profile] towerofanimus, where she was played for a period of about seven months. Several major things happened to her there, which I'll list in bullet format in a (likely futile) attempt to make this easier to follow.
→ The singular most significant event that occurred was her meeting an AU lowblooded Eridan Ampora from Homestuck. Initially he was wary and distrustful of her, but over time her continual sympathy and ready willingness to help endeared her to him, and he got a crush on her. Willow initially was not interested in dating a male, and moreover an alien male, and tried to make sure he didn't get his hopes up without hurting his feelings.

As time went on and none of her castmates appeared and more and more horrifying things happened, Willow needed support. She is a social person and crumbles when on her own, and Eridan was there, patient and unconditionally supportive. Even after seeing her turn to dark magic to destroy the Grand Highblood, Eridan wasn't afraid of her, which was a major point for him in Willow's eyes. She agreed to try dating him, and it went better than she'd anticipated.

It took her quite some time to adjust to the idea of dating a man again, and to become familiar with how romance and sex worked for trolls-- there were definitely some false starts and awkward moments. But they both were completely isolated and without castmates for the majority of their time in Animus, and as such their relationship became serious fairly fast out of sheer desperation. For the most part, they're disgustingly sappy and devoted to each other, almost bordering on co-dependent.

→ When she started dating Eridan, Willow threw herself a hundred percent into becoming familiar with how things work for trolls, especially as she kept running into them everywhere else. Some of her most positive CR was with her roommate Aradia, who she gossiped with frequently and once threw a party with; she also got to know the Summoner and another AU jade blooded Eridan fairly well.

Among significant negative CR with trolls, she came to blows with both the Grand Highblood and Dualscar, killing each of them on separate occasions. At one point, while powerless, she was severely injured by Dualscar as retaliation for a humiliating curse she'd given him earlier. Willow hates both of them pretty deeply and would be happy to see them dead if she ever had the opportunity, except for that part where they would just get resurrected due to game mechanics. Since they would get resurrected and she knows it, mostly she tries to ignore them when she can, not wanting to get into an endless cycle of revenge.

→ Willow is very outgoing and energetic, and as such spoke to and got to know a whole lot of people during her stay in the tower. A short list of other characters she came to know that she would consider important includes: AU female Stein from Soul Eater, William Birkin from Resident Evil, John Egbert from Homestuck, AU Jade Harley from Homestuck that went by Echidna, AU female Link from Ocarina of Time, Zelda from Ocarina of Time, Taiki from the Twelve Kingdoms, England from Hetalia, and Chidori Yoshino from Persona 3.

→ Several times Willow did get castmates at Animus. Briefest of all was Buffy, who she spoke to for a single thread, but for a short time there was also Dawn and Xander. Their relationships stayed largely as they are in canon, with Willow trying to protect and take care of Dawn, and relying on Xander for her own sanity.

Shortly before she was dropped, however, she met an AU Tara, who in her world had watched Willow die and gone dark, as a reverse of canon. Meeting her deeply affected Willow, who had only recently struggled through accepting Tara's death, and she was discomfited to see a Tara that could be lured to dark magic. She still loves her with all of her being, and they were trying to settle into a friendly relationship instead of a romantic one. This was met with mixed success, yet Willow is determined not to ever cheat again, given her experience with it in canon. Her feelings for Tara just aren't something she could ever let go of, in any incarnation.

→ Willow underwent a lot of difficult circumstances, and tried to keep herself busy. She worked on creating a database of monsters present in the tower, frequently performed spells for those who needed them, and got into a lot of fights protecting people. Once she was killed trying to protect Eridan from the tower guards. Overall the sheer level of stress and violence present in the tower made her a bit harsher and more uncompromising, but at the same time it's also made her somewhat more stable and less inclined to make dumb, rash decisions. (Only somewhat.)

Willow Rosenberg (OU) ☆ Buffy: the Vampire Slayer ☆ Sample Application

[personal profile] guiltapalooza 2012-07-18 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)

Personality:
The first and most noticeable thing about Willow is the way she speaks. She's very twentieth century American casual, but with SAT vocabulary peppered in there that reveals just how intelligent she is. Willow has a lot more going on beneath the surface than is apparent at first, and her dialogue is the best indicator of that. Like any Joss character, her speech is full of witty turns of phrase and irreverent mutilation of the English language. Her tone is almost always both empathetic and earnest, and it's only when she's truly at the end of her rope that the tenor of her voice turns flatter. She is expressive and wears her heart on her sleeve most of the time, and although she has moments of shyness and reservation, strong feeling will always overcome that and push her into being aggressive. She's a complex character, but she is very up front about all of her nuances.

"Now we're supposed to decide what we want to do with our lives.
And I just realized that's what I want to do. Fight evil, help people.
" (Willow)

Chief among Willow's strengths is her loyalty and selflessness. She was pulled into the fight against evil as a victim, but once she turned into a combatant, she never once looked back. We see Buffy fighting against her destiny and struggling with it on a regular basis, but Willow seems to have no self-doubt about it at all. It isn't her pre-ordained fate like it is for Buffy, true, but Willow made her own choice to stick with her friend, who doesn't have a choice. She gave up an acceptance to Oxford University and any hope of a safe, peaceful life in order to support her and help others. She has plenty of faults, but a lack of persistence is not one of them. From the first day we see her until seven years later, Willow is always loud and unflinching about defending what is really important to her.

Aside from her friends, her moral standards themselves are one of those things that she values. Morality is mostly very clear and obvious to her: murder is bad, hurting her friends is bad (even if they deserved it), refusing to make up for your mistakes is bad. She is fairly uncompromising about her lines here, but the interesting part is where she draws them. Willow defines what is right and wrong in terms of who it hurts, and whether the person committing the crime is sincerely regretful. She forgives very easily in a variety of situations, so long as she thinks they're trying to do better. At heart she is kind, and will even help those that have done her wrong in the past if they ask her.

She is slow to forget these judgements once she makes them, however. Willow is extremely biased. As I said, she defines morality in terms of who it hurts-- and if it hurts someone she dislikes, well, she's not going to be much bothered by it. Someone that she's decided is a friend will always be defended, even against valid criticism. She is dependable in the sense that once she says something, she sticks to it, and it takes her a long time to reverse it. It takes her years to truly be comfortable around Cordelia, who in high school treated her disdainfully as the popular girl to the outcast nerd. In contrast she never hesitates to trust Angel or Spike while they have their souls, despite all the violence she's seen them commit in the past, both against innocents and against her and her friends. Her initial opinions about people are ones she clings to.

"Let me tell you something about Willow. She's a loser. She always has been." (Dark Willow)

Willow's most glaring fault is how self-righteous she can be. She's had low self-esteem her whole life, not just an outcast but someone that never tried not to be an outcast, and when she was younger it made her prohibitively awkward in social interactions. She stumbled over her words, went completely silent when too embarrassed, and apologized just for existing. As time went on and she got to know Buffy better and fought demons over the years, Willow's self-confidence grew, and she's quite sassy and self-assured now at times. Yet that is by and large masking her still underlying negative view of herself, as we see starkly when she turns evil and says the above quote.

This hidden, intrinsic self-loathing leads her to emotional extremes in order to justify herself to herself. Willow makes countless selfish decisions, and is bull-headed and stubborn when her friends try to tell her what she's doing wrong. It's hard for her to accept when she's being selfish and is in over her head because that validates those inner feelings of worthlessness, something she struggles hard to avoid. She has a vested interest in being right and justified, as being presented with her faults hits her so hard. Willow has abandonment issues from her parents ignoring her, and was a stellar student in school for years to gain the attention and approval of teachers, her other authority figures. Ordinarily she's meticulous and terrified to break the rules, but when she loses control of herself and sinks into her own, protective self-interest, that all goes out the window, and she rejects any kind of authoritative influence (Giles, Tara, and even Buffy).

In practice it can seem that she whips wildly from the meek, mousy girl in the fuzzy sweater to a wrathful, unrelenting witch of unimaginable power. But there is a method and a reason to these changes and apparent mood swings. Willow doesn't do anything without an underlying cause-- she is not capricious, but rather passionate. Sometimes she acts out of pure loyalty and devotion, and sometimes it's out of selfish defensiveness, but she is not truly cruel. It's just that she has a self-righteous justification on hand for everything that she does, ready to lash out with it should she, and her self-worth, be questioned. She feels she is owed certain things for all the effort she puts in, particularly in regards to what she thinks she's owed in relationships, and she's not afraid to reach out and grab it if someone isn't giving it to her.

However, she is trying to change that. The car accident with Dawn, even before Tara's death, and then going after the Trio and fighting Buffy afterward all convinced her that she needed to seriously re-examine herself. Willow doesn't want to hurt anyone, even for her own benefit, and while her dark magic addiction can pull her into a dangerous undercurrent, under her normal mental faculties she would never want to go that far. She feels her guilt heavily, and is slowly changing.

"Except I'm less worried about hitting my thumb, and more worried about going all black-eyed baddy and bewitching that hammer into cracking my friends' skulls open like coconuts." (Willow)

This is a long, hard road she's been on, first as a shy nerd, then an addiction-riddled force of nature, and now a more balanced, fair-minded woman in her early twenties. Willow is determined to make it, to learn where that line is and how the balancing act works, because she knows without it not only could she destroy the world, but she'd lose her friends. Being more or less without family support her whole life means that she is hugely reliant on her friends, and their opinion of her. They are what shore up her self-esteem and make her cheerful and positive as she usually is, instead of depressed and reckless as she might be otherwise. Even aside from them, once her eyes were opened to what she was doing, Willow could no longer conveniently not apply her morals to herself. She realizes what she's done, is horrified, and can't really live with herself unless she changes.

Overall she is a good, kind person, but the lure of her magic can prove too much for her sometimes. Magic makes her special, it makes her unique, useful, and amazing. It makes her feel like a goddess instead of part of the wallpaper. Although Willow on her own, without magic, is as I mentioned gradually becoming more stable and self-confident, with magic she feels a thousand times better. No one could truly be immune to limitless power, and with her innate talent, intellect, and access to Giles' books and supplies, that's effectively what she has. There are several limitations, but for the most part Willow's abilities border on terrifying. Feeling that for herself, that absolute surety and that guarantee that no one can go against her, is by no coincidence addicting.

After spending time with the coven in Devon to learn how to grip her magic more effectively, and not let it ride her, she's becoming more even-handed about it. She no longer uses it for anything that could be done manually without it, and she does spells the longer, slower way if possible, with rituals instead of waving her hand. She stops and thinks, she uses her rational mind and applies her morals to herself instead of just everyone else, and she's learned how to embrace the white, healing side of magic, as Tara did. Yet this is still, and probably always will be, an ongoing battle for her at least in part. It is a slippery slope, and with her loved ones constantly in danger and needing her help, it's almost impossible for Willow to completely give up black magic. It's simply too powerful to ignore in her circumstances, so she's trying to find a way to use it without letting it use her.

"You've been my best friend my whole life. World gonna end... where else would I want to be?" (Xander)

Animus has in some ways helped her in this pursuit and in others pushed her ten steps back. Her experiences there have made her more emotionally stable and prone to calmer judgement; she's been through not just violent crises and apocalypses, as she's used to, but also her own death and ongoing, ever-present trauma. Even if she wanted to, she could no longer afford to rashly act out whenever she felt like it: there were major consequences to doing so. As a result she's become somewhat colder and flatter in her interactions, more remote and distant. This is not a natural state for Willow, and it's a sign of unhealthy coping. She may return gradually to her more normal liveliness and overtrusting nature, but it will take time, and these traces of sour resignation will linger.

That is not a bad lesson for her to learn, though. Willow has let her passions rule her, and that's what's always gotten her into trouble. With her power, she can't afford that, and once she learns how to keep a level head without becoming hurt and embittered as a consequence, it will do her a lot of good. This development only came after a period in which she used magic almost continuously. There was no one from home there, so she used it freely, and became comfortable with relying on it once again. She felt abandoned by her castmates, and none of her other CR quite realized exactly how dangerous it was for her to be throwing frivolous spells around right and left.

Eventually after her death at the hands of the red-collared tower guards, Willow put a stop to it herself; her magic was lost for a day as part of the resurrection mechanic, but it didn't come back for over a month. As her magic is greatly influenced by her emotions and her perception of herself, her growing inner sense of panic and her knowledge of how much Tara would disapprove unintentionally forced her to go cold turkey for a few weeks, without her knowledge that it was her doing it. Dualscar took that opportunity to attack her, and while she was healing she realized that it had been herself all along taking away her magic. With that epiphany, her power returned, and since then Willow has had a better sense of perspective and self-control. She's let go of Tara's death as much as she ever will, something that took her months to achieve; and with that she has learned to trust herself again. Being without the rest of the Scoobies for so long has forced her to.

It's worth saying one more thing about her development from Animus. Although it's true that she does trust herself more now, it's come at a price. Willow really does feel abandoned and let down by her friends. Although a few of them were there for a short time, they were frankly not around very much, and she went through so much without them that, unable to cope by herself, she slowly replaced them with others in the role of emotionally supporting her. This is where Eridan primarily, but her other previous CR as well, comes in. In her effort to become more stable and not fall back into addiction, she had him to rely on, and it's made them somewhat codependent. Willow is hugely grateful and also an unashamed romantic sap, so she's gradually falling in love with him, despite her every reservation.

Powers: This section is not technically required for her as an OU character, but she's so powerful I felt I had to include it.

At the end of the series, Willow is capable of flight, telekinesis, regeneration, superhuman strength, teleportation, resurrection, telepathy, force field projection, energy manipulation, invisibility, pyrokinesis, sonic scream, electrokinesis, clairvoyance, precognition, portal creation, absorbing life from others, locating people and objects at a distance (even when theoretically protected from such spells), being impervious to physical damage, memory manipulation, and mind control. This mind control even extends to demons that are immune to mind controlling magics.

This list is taken directly from the Buffy wikia, and actually, it's not in the least complete. Willow is more or less one big giant plot device. She tends to be capable of doing exactly what the plot needs her to, and no more. At the moment she's fairly well balanced and stable in terms of her magic use-- she has previously struggled with addiction and falling to the dark side, but her experiences in Animus, and near the end of the series, have lead her to be more confident without slipping over the edge. In general, she will not do anything unprovoked, and right now is disinclined to use her power for anything that she could do herself without it.

It is actually canon that it's absurd how much power she has: she's considered the most powerful witch in the world. I try to be very conscientious and mindful of not stepping on toes with how admittedly godmode-y she is, and am aware of in game limitations on teleportation and summoning. She does have several canon limitations as well, and I try to play those up when I can, and wherever necessary.

The following threads are all taken from [community profile] towerofanimus and reflect her time there.

Network: A post with a good variety of interaction, and Xander's arrival.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Toph Beifong
Series: Avatar: the Last Airbender
Canon Point: Post-canon
History Link: Link.

Personality: At first glance Toph is a tiny young blind girl who needs to be protected, and she very much resents this image. In fact she is immensely capable, both in terms of physically defending herself and in living on her own. She is cocky, brash, caustic, and persistent. She embodies the ideals of an earthbender in her stubborn, hard-headed attitude, and is unafraid to express her disapproval, even when it's toward close friends of hers. She also has no problems mocking, lying, and tricking those who she thinks deserve it-- which, in typical teenage fashion, can take a fairly broad definition.

Toph can often be sullen and defensive. In this respect she is like any other twelve year old; for all her remarkable abilities and special circumstances, in many ways she is not at all different from a normal girl. She wants her parents to accept her for who she is, she has silly unvoiced crushes, and she is uncompromising about her views. She can be aggressive about asserting her self-image as a tough guy, not wanting anyone to think she's weak-- something she's sensitive to due to her upbringing. But ultimately Toph is not all bark and bite. She has times where she acts her age.

Her friends are important to her, and she is not incapable of listening to advice or admitting when she's wrong, though when she does so it's because she genuinely has changed her mind. Toph will not agree with someone just to keep the peace; she says her opinion and she says it loud, unless she's lying to get something else out of it. What you see is what you get with her. So when she does change her mind, it's quite sincere and wholehearted. She left her entire life in Gaoling behind in order to follow Aang, and the impression Iroh left her with of Zuko stayed with her for months until the time that she met him herself. She is the epitome of steadfast and forthright.

She does appreciate those that show caring for her, and she shows it with her loyalty. While Katara might get on her nerves, and Aang's inability to stand up for himself can drive her crazy, ultimately Toph defends them with every breath she has. She does what they need when they ask her to do it-- even when she disagrees, if they really need her, she comes through. And she says directly to Sokka that it means a lot to her that Katara is so motherly, as it's something she never received from her own mother. Toph seems to have a soft spot for approving parental figures, as we see her have a similar reaction to Iroh. Although she responds harshly to being told what to do, she takes sentimental advice surprisingly well, listening carefully and responding in kind.

Additionally, she isn't heartless when someone opens up to her. For someone who is so bad at expressing her own positive feelings, Toph deals well with hearing them from someone else. She might tease a little, but most of the time she empathizes and affirms their feelings. Tough and self-confident as she is, she understands that everyone has their own problems and insecurities, and she doesn't undermine them. Her own insecurities do dog her sometimes. Her background as a sheltered, rich only child is something that never truly leaves her. She knows society manners and she knows how to get her way, but she sees that kind of life as a lonely cage, and as such delights in the chance to find her freedom. Toph is honestly self-confident. It's not a pretense, so her insecurities center around others' perceptions of her, not her perception of herself.

Aside from the aforementioned sensitivity to being seen as weak, there is a secret depth of self-consciousness to her, as we see in Ba Sing Se when she is mocked for her appearance and it takes her several moments to come up with a comeback. But she does come up with one-- Toph takes her hurt and throws it back in someone's face, which we see earlier when she hits Aang as comeuppance for stealing the Earth Rumble champion title from her. Yet she doesn't just hit back out of revenge, but also, strangely, out of affection. She says to Zuko that she displays affection by punching people, and we see her do it several times.

Despite those words, Toph is not all that abrasive to the average person. She is unhygienic and covered in dirt, she's arrogant and unreserved, she's quick to violence and quick to mock-- but she is ultimately a good person. She helps those who need it and she is very dependable, and she admires determination and liveliness in others. She laughs at jokes, she whines about long trips, and she does mind her manners when she wants to. Toph is fairly well-adjusted and a good person to have on your side.

Powers: Toph's abilities are directly tied into her personal identity, so I'm going to throw this in here.

Earthbending. First and most obvious is her earthbending, which is manipulation of earth through martial arts. Unlike every other earthbender shown, Toph uses a form based on Chu Gar Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu, presumably because she is largely self-taught. She learned her bending directly from the badgermoles, who are the original earthbenders, when she was six, and it's given her an acute awareness of the earth. It's by sensing vibrations in the ground that she 'sees' despite being blind. In terms of fighting itself, she is relentless and rightfully boastful, and can hold her own against large groups of opponents without difficulty and in fact with some enjoyment. She can use earthbending for a large variety of tasks, from throwing projectiles to creating shackles and tents, to stopping buildings from sinking, to creating tunnels.

Other forms of bending. Aside from straight up earthbending, which allows her to manipulate rock and dirt in just about any conceivable way, Toph can also metalbend. She is the first person in existence to do so, and is able to because her extreme sensitivity allows her to sense the impurities in the metal and manipulate them. By the end of the series she is very comfortable with it, and tosses metal around with almost the same level of ease as she does to rock.

Initially Toph found sand frustrating and a great weakness-- its continual shifting foiled her feet, and everything she 'saw' came out fuzzy, rendering her half-blind. Behind the scenes over the series, though, she took this as a challenge, and practiced her sandbending, until in the finale she was able to spend time on the beach and make an intricately detailed sand replica of Ba Sing Se without hesitation.

Lie detection. Due to how finely tuned her sense of vibrations are, Toph can sense someone's breathing and heartbeat from a moderate distance away. As lying causes a physical reaction in most people, she can monitor it and use that to tell when someone is lying. She has a greater degree of accuracy with this when she's closer and able to place her hand on a nearby piece of rock. It's worth mentioning that not all people exhibit physical symptoms of lying, and in series it's shown that Azula, who is probably a sociopath, can lie without Toph knowing the difference.

Blindness. While Toph is very comfortable with her blindness and doesn't see it as a disability, there are several drawbacks that she can't overcome. One is that she's directly dependent on being able to sense vibrations, which gives her several huge weaknesses. Anything damaging her feet will leave her crawling around and almost immobile; she can't anticipate attacks coming from the air unless they're launched from the ground, and even then she doesn't know where projectiles are once they're airborne, she can only guess; and she is vulnerable while standing on anything that impedes her vibration sensing. Previously this included sand, though she overcame that-- but it also includes ice, water, and again, being airborne. She also, of course, can't read in any capacity, and must ask others to read her letters out loud for her, and so on.

On the other hand, blindness has given her several advantages. She has very good (though not supernaturally good) hearing, and will never forget a voice. She is also impossible to sneak up on, as she senses who is around her by their movements and heartbeat, not by visual cues. She will wake up from a dead sleep when there is something approaching from miles off, and the only way to ambush her is to come from above, where she can't sense.

Overall. All of the above together makes Toph a powerful opponent. She is well versed in hand-to-hand fighting forms simply by virtue of how good a bender she is, and is in excellent physical condition. Even moreso, she enjoys fighting, and it gives her an eagerness that works to her advantage. Although her glaring weaknesses do hinder her, and she is not at all unbeatable, Toph is undaunted by any obstacle that might be in front of her, whether a physical one or a limitation of her own. When presented with a challenge, she faces it head on and doesn't shy away; this is easily seen in her difficulty knowing where projectiles are in the air, something she is so good at compensating for that most of the time she can knock them away mid-air purely from telegraphing her opponent's movements. She makes for a formidable fighter and isn't hesitant or shy about saying so.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Gilbert Beilschmidt | Prussia (Preußen)
Series: Axis Powers Hetalia
Canon Point:
History Links: History of the Character (such as it is).
History of the Nation (or, at least, the really relevant bits, but I'm more than happy to link to less relevant bits of earlier history if so requested).
The Preußenschlag (because it's kind of a big deal).

Personality:

The first thing anyone will notice about Prussia is his ego. Then again, you really can't miss that sort of ego, especially since he doesn't miss a single opportunity to remind everyone how awesome he is. (In the original Japanese, he refers to himself as ore-sama, which is a very grandiose way of speaking about oneself.)When he defeats someone, he loves to gloat about it, going so far as to want to have a portrait painted of Austria's defeated face during the War of Austrian Succession. He also teaches Germany strategies he used to defeat Austria… whilst Austria is sitting there.

However, this egotism has led to his downfall, because it blinds him to what's going on around him. Especially when he was younger, he would be so convinced he had won that he would take the time to brag before ensuring his victory, which notably ended once in Lithuania sneaking up on him and defeating him whilst all Prussia's attention was on Poland. As he's grown older, however, he has become somewhat wiser, being able to acknowledge when he might actually be in trouble, such as when Austria allies himself with France and Russia.

Not that he'd ever admit aloud to such things, because his inclination is to then cover it up. Even when he's visibly shocked or nervous, he claims to be excited. This tendency to hide how he really feels extends beyond just fear, but to sadness and depression as well. Even when he's alone, he will hide his feelings, convincing himself that he's simply too awesome for whatever it is that's causing him upset, and that he's way better off the way he is.

Around others, he is loud, brash, and can be both rude and crude to the point of creepiness. He doesn't typically stop to consider what others might think of his actions, whether it's simple teasing or tricking someone into revealing a weakness, then exploiting it. Though he has reined it in a little since his youth as the Teutonic Order and Duchy of Prussia, when he once tried to use the cloth that covered his crotch to bandage Hungary (until he discovered Hungary was actually female), he still doesn't think much of how his actions come across to others. He will still stalk Austria to try to humiliate him in front of others, for instance. Even when he's trying to express concern, he goes about it very forcefully, to the point of being extremely annoying. With Prussia, it can take physical violence to get him to settle down.

On the other hand, when he's not being creepy and rude, he can be either very annoying (if you like your peace and quiet) or extremely fun. He can become almost childishly enthusiastic about ideas, and will do his best to convince others to join in his plans. Sometimes this works, other times he needs to adjust his plans to get others to join in. However, he can be fairly charismatic -or, at the least, loud and overbearing enough that people go along with him just to shut him up- when it suits him. For better or for worse, this is not always for the most serious of situations. Prussia is more likely to lay on his 'charm' for fun and games than he is for diplomacy. Not that he can't be forceful in getting what he wants, but it seems he'd almost rather ignore the political side of life and do what he finds enjoyable, such as fighting.

He is much more used to dealing with men, even after a couple centuries of dealing with female nobility and such. He prefers to spend his time on the battlefield, which in his eyes is no place for a woman. Although he's not anywhere near as awkward as he was in his youth, he's still not quite sure how to deal with them. It confuses him that Hungary no longer wants to hunt or spar with him like she would when they were younger… yet she will then turn around and kick his arse with just a frying pan.

Despite all of these shortcomings, he is at heart a very diligent soldier. Part of this is the fact that he grew up on the battlefield, as the personification of a military order, and much of his history as an actual nation is one of military campaigns. In his heyday during the 1800s, he was a major military power in spite of having little territory or influence, few natural resources, or even an advantageous location on the Continent (as the borders of Prussia were very much political boundaries, with no defining natural borders such as mountains). Because of this, he is a genius tactician, having learned from some of the best military minds of German history, such as Friedrich II and Otto von Bismarck. He's also considered by the other nations to be a very good fighter… and perhaps a bit too eager to get into a fight if he's confident he will win.

Notably, he is said to be very punctual; he is never late for anything and when he commits to something, he is very persistent in following through. Although the best example of this is his journal writing -canonically, he has never missed a single day-, Latvia has also mentioned that he is extremely methodical… Though, the example given was looting. Apparently he checks all the drawers.

He can be serious and hard-working in other matters, although often he'll focus on his own whims instead of what others want him to do. However, when he does put his mind to something, Prussia will do his absolute best at it. The main difficulty with getting him to apply himself to work is that he can become bored very easily. With some external motivation, he can be convinced to stay on task, but lacking that he will often find something else to do instead.

Another defining positive feature of his is his loyalty. Centuries after the death of his beloved king, Friedrich II (or Old Fritz), Prussia still holds him in high regard, to the point where he prays for Fritz to watch over him and his plans.

And even if he doesn't necessarily show it in any obvious way, he does likely feel some loyalty to Germany. Then again, he spent a lot of time fighting to unite the German Confederation sans Austria, so part of it is probably wanting to protect all that invested time and effort.

Their relationship certainly isn't picture perfect. They do often get on each other's nerves, though it's obvious to see why when one considers that, despite being very similar in terms of culture and values, Prussia is much more wild, whilst Germany is as stoic and stern as one would expect someone with a diligent, hard-working nature to be. (In later canon it is implied that they do get into physical fights fairly regularly, because Prussia is hardly bothered when Germany puts him in a suplex. Likewise, Prussia has put Germany into a headlock before, which also shows that Prussia is far stronger than he looks even after his dissolution… Which would then imply that he is very physically strong during WWII. Although this has never been shown during the WWII strips and episodes in canon, it's unlikely that this sort of interaction is a very recent development.) Prussia also does things deliberately to annoy Germany.

Which is not to say he doesn't care about his brother. He definitely does, to the point of worrying if one of his pranks on Austria -faking a book on advice for dealing with a German man who has been rejected in love- could potentially cause problems for Germany. (Of course, he dismisses the notion shortly thereafter because he doesn't think Germany would be the sort, but there is the moment of, "Wait… could he have meant…?") When Germany refuses to drink beer, he becomes visibly worried that his brother is not feeling well. Although… he doesn't necessarily express this concern in the politest way; finally laughing obnoxiously at Germany in an attempt to annoy the younger nation into drinking. Perhaps the most visible sign that he does care about Germany is the fact that he's given the other nation a nickname: West. (Interestingly, this is in use prior to the Cold War, so it's unclear where this nickname comes from. Most likely it's related to the fact that Prussia was predominantly to the east of the remainder of the German Confederation and later Empire.)

((The following is primarily headcanon extrapolated from historical events and Prussia's behaviour in canon.))

This loyalty causes him some problems going into WWII. For one, he's very conflicted internally. He's not very pleased about the Preußenschlag; having his own government taken over forcefully by his brother's feels like a betrayal. Though his inclination is to be angry with Germany for it, he is aware that it isn't necessarily his brother's fault.

There is also the matter of what Germany's boss is doing. Despite no longer having any say in politics, Prussia is certainly not blind to what is occurring and the effects it is having on Germany. It only serves to frustrate him further, because there's very little he can do other than fight and hope that the war ends soon, one way or the other, and that with the end of the war a bit of sanity is restored to the government.

Although there is a part of him that wants to fight against the Nazis, there are a number of reasons he can't do this. Aside from his ingrained sense of duty and loyalty to his government, which like it or not West's government is his now; aside from the fact that if Prussia is caught being rebellious, it could be considered a reflection of how the people living in "his" territory feel; aside from every other consideration… There is the very simple fact that as a nation his hands are tied. Whether he agrees with the decisions of his bosses or not, he has to go along with them.

((Okay, ending the primarily headcanon stuff now.))

Although he is not shown much in canon during WWII, when he is shown, he is still acting like his normal self: stalking Austria, causing trouble, etc. This is likely part of his prior stated tendency to hide his emotions if they don't reflect his self-perceived awesome nature.

He also has a noticeable fondness for cute things: birds, toys, the Italy brothers… just to name a few.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: May Parker | Venom (AU)
Series: Marvel MC2 comics/AU
Canon Point: N/A
History Link: May’s core history is based off the Mavel comic’s MC2 universe (one of the many branches off the main 616 universe). In this universe, the baby May exists and is allowed to grow up, rather than being stillborn as she was in the 616 universe.

May was what led Peter Parker, the original Spider-Man, to retire. May was stolen from the hospital by an agent of Norman Osborn, the original Green Goblin, and replaced with a recent stillborn. She spent the first few months of her life in the company of this agent, until the cult working for Osborn came to reclaim her, then Spider-Man’s old enemy Kaine forcibly takes her from them to return to her parents. After learning of the plot upon May’s return, Peter goes to confront the Green Goblin for the last time. During this battle Norman Osborn is killed and Peter loses his right leg, causing him to hang up his webs forever.

Other than the adventure of her first few months of life, May has a perfectly normal childhood. Her mother works in fashion, her father is a forensic scientist for the police, and superheroes and her father’s past as Spider-Man are never discussed. May is a popular student at school, and while she sighs over the hansom Franklin Richards of the Fantastic Five and cheers for the New Avengers, she has no idea how closely her family is tied to them both. All this changes when she is fifteen years old and her Spider powers suddenly manifest during a basketball game.

After this manifestation, May’s life quickly ditches anything resembling normal. At the same time she discovered her powers, Normie Osborn, the grandson of Norman Osborn, decided to take up the Green Goblin mantle and try to kill Spider-Man, leading to her parents being worried enough to disclose the truth about the past to May. She has her first taste of superheroing when she steals her dad’s old uniform to go take down the Green Goblin, thought this stint as a mask is quickly cut short when her parents forbid her to take up the family business and burn the costume in the back yard.

Following this May at first fashions her own, fairly terrible, costume consisting of a black work out outfit and ski mask, then steals another one of her dad’s old costumes. During her time as an under the table superhero, May meets several of her longer term allies and enemies, including: Crazy Eight, Mr. Nobody, Spyral, the Fantastic Five, and Darkdevil, the vigilante that replaced Daredevil. Her parents eventually find her out and summarily ground her and, once again, forbid her from ever playing superhero again. Help comes from an unexpected source when her ‘Uncle’ Phil Urich, a coworker of her dad, an old family friend, and a former, admittedly short lived, masked hero. He takes to training May during their lunch hour, at first alone and later with the Ladyhawks, a pair of sister masked heroes.

After another series of encounters with villains and other heroes, Peter finally caves and agrees to train May in the mornings, though he never fully supports her decision to become Spider-Girl. Between morning and afternoon training sessions and being Spider-Girl after school, May’s social life spirals in the same way Peter’s had as a teen. She’s still a popular girl, but her friends both notice and comment on her recent tendency to be a flake. As May’s life goes down hill, Spider-Girl’s goes fairly well and she manages to land a spot as a reserve New Avenger, becoming fast cape-friends with three of the members: American Dream, J2, and Stinger.

During this time May meets two more major people in her life, Kaine and Brenda Drago, both of which are initially on her villains list, but eventually turn to the path of redemption and become, if not always trusted, at least long term allies. May also meets Jack ‘J.J.’ Jameson, the grandson of the original J. Jonah Jameson, and Felicity Hardy, the daughter of Felicia Hardy. J.J and May date for a short time, and long after they’ve broken up May discovers J.J is the masked hero known as ‘The Buzz.’ Felicity, though only thirteen, discovers May’s secret identity as Spider-Girl and is determined to be her new side-kick. She is the on again off again Scarlet Spider, much to May’s constant disapproval, and eventually settles in as May’s info-gatherer, compensating for May’s own lack of investigative skill.

As a result of a major electric shock, May loses her Spider-Powers for a time. During this period is when Normie Osborn breaks out of the mental facility holding him and, after being beaten up a little by Mary Jane when he attempted to kidnap her, nabs the powerless May and ties her to a chair. They have a long verbal confrontation, during which May figures out Normie is waiting for her to escape and kill him in order to end the Osborn/Parker feud. When May refuses, Normie is unable to actually murder her and she talks him into seeking actual mental help. Since then Normie has been one of her most steadfast allies, and actually supplies her with the gear needed to become the ‘Spider-Goblin’ until her powers return, along with a secret base that once belonged to his grandfather (grudgingly allowed to be named ‘the web site’ later on).

May experiences her first accidental death during a gang war between the Kingpin and Cannis, a new crime boss, when Crazy Eight is shot by Mr. Nobody after she dodges the bullet. Both May and Crazy Eight’s brother, Funny Face, hold May responsible for the death. When Funny Face springs his mother, Angel Face, from prison, May responds by forming her own ‘Even Newer Warriors’ consisting of Phil Urich as the Green Goblin, the Ladyhawks, the Buzz, the Raptor, and, when he feels like it, Darkdevil. May, in a moment of guilt over Crazy Eight’s death, makes a bargain with Angel Face after she and her son have beaten up most of the New Warriors: she’ll let them go if they promise to quit crime and leave New York. Angel Face takes up the offer, and the New Warriors kick May off the team she formed as a result. May lives with regret over her decision for months, until later she has her second round with the criminal pair, putting them back in prison.

Cannis eventually wins the gang war, killing the Kingpin. His reign as the new kingpin is short, however, and he is eventually taken down by a combined effort of Spider-Girl, the New Warriors, and a team of reformed villains, including the Raptor and Kaine, put together by an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. During this time, May becomes an object of fascination for the Black Tarantula, a South American crime lord, who swears that she is destined to be his perfect mate. He, for a short time, equips her with ‘Team Spider,’ her own strike force, and hires Elektra Natchios to help train her. The arrangement is short lived, ending with the Black Tarantula surrendering himself to Spider-Girl rather than having to harm her, though he later escapes S.H.I.E.L.D custody.

Life continued to be hectic for May, with many battles with various villains occurring. One important event was the return of Nomie Osborn’s ‘wife,’ a foreign crime lord who led ‘The Cult of the Goblin’ and called herself Fury, the Goblin Queen. She was determined to make Normie embrace his goblin side, leading to Normie being temporarily dipped in the Goblin serum Norman Osborn had created. He is later possessed by the Venom symbiote and claims he can control the symbiote, making them a team. These combined events lead May to question his loyalty for the first time, creating a tension on top of the awkwardness already there thanks to Normie’s engagement to the Raptor. The symbiote later dies to save Normie and Spider-Girl’s lives during a showdown between Spider-Girl and her allies against the Hobgoblin and the Cult of Scriers, proving that Normie had been right.

After that big show down, during which both May and Peter are injured, Mary Jane forbids May from being Spider-Girl, claiming it isn’t fair to her or to Ben, May’s newly born little brother. May concedes to her mother’s wishes and stops being Spider-Girl for several months. During this time she focus on her social life, dating and been broken up with (after returning to being Spider-Girl) by Gene Thompson, the son of Flash Thompson and Felicia Hardy, and nearly running for student body president at school. This hiatus ends when trouble too disturbing to ignore starts up again and May, once again behind her parent’s backs, dons the Spider-Girl costume. She does battle with the Hobgoblin once more, who is now challenging the Black Tarantula to become the new Kingpin of crime, and manages to screw up a S.H.I.E.L.D operation being led by Maria Hill, resulting in the Carnage symbiote being released. May takes down the symbiote, but not before it kidnapped both her father and brother, with the results of her rescuing Ben being him losing his hearing. Shortly after this, a girl in May’s class having her mutant powers activate during school leads Mary Jane to reflect on her attitude towards her daughter, and May is once again given permission to be Spider-Girl.

AU/OC History:
And here we go into the AU. This is also technically game import information, but I’ll put them both here for convenience sake. May was ported in on June 7th, 2010 and spent two years in [community profile] capeandcowl as Spider-Girl, getting to know heroes from alternate versions of her world, the DC universe, and many others. She primarily began to act as a ‘spider-mom,’ helping other young heroes that didn’t come from the same kind of stable home environment as her figure out what they were doing and why. She attended the version of the Xavier Institute that had been set up in the city, trained in a dojo under martial art masters from several universes, and eventually graduated and enrolled in college in the City.

Now the Cape and Cowl 2020 AU. This is a ‘gamewide au’ from CNC, with this dystopian musebox popping up about once every six months and all interested players plotting out how it would all go down. The relative tranquility of the City was shattered when, in 2013, the government in the City decided that they'd had enough of superhero antics. There was a nationwide crackdown on metahumans, requiring that they register with the government upon penalty of incarceration (much like the plots of marvel comics Civil War or the first X-men movie). The network that all imports communicated through was shut down, and many residents were scattered to the winds in an attempt to avoid incarceration. May included.

The one true daughter of Spider-Man, she fought the idea of registration with everything she had in her and hit the underground. Not exactly street savvy, she relied on friends and family, managing fairly well...until an old enemy came in to town. When the Venom symbiote came for May, abandoning the host he'd ridden in on for a chance at some form of revenge against the Parker bloodline, the symbiote didn't count on the fact May had dealt with it before in her world. After being joined, she went off grid for nearly half a year, using every trick she'd picked up from Normie and any other source to turn the symbiote to her side. When she did swing back into action in the City it was with a new suit and a new name, becoming a truly heroic Venom. Still resisting arrest over half a decade later, May spends her time split between working dead-end jobs under a false identity and fighting crime (not to mention assisting the resistance, as well) at night. Older, wiser, and with a harder edge than she’d had as a young hero, May still retains much of her optimism and loyalty despite it all.

Game Import: See above.

Personality: May is, first and foremost, her parent’s daughter, and her personality reflects that. She is woman who is fiercely stubborn, independent, and capable, and is aware of it. Like her father, she has an iron-clad sense of responsibility. She believes in what she does, and takes it very hard whenever her lack of action results in another being hurt. Being Venom isn’t something done for fun or profit. She has these powers and she can’t simply sit on them while innocents suffer. This responsibility affects not only what she does, but what she doesn’t do as well, acting as her moral code. Rather than having some big catalyst as the reason why she became a hero, like Peter did with the death of Uncle Ben, May has simply done it because it seemed the right thing to do. Thus, she actually considers herself a different kind of hero than her father. This results in a person far more at peace with themself, who they are, and how they fit into the world than the original Spider-Man ever was.

All this lends May a rather practical approach to life. She does what she has to do to help others without crying about the costs or consequences, and tries to take everything in stride. A good deal of this calmer outlook might be able to be attributed to her training with Daredevil and other heroes in the City in Cape and Cowl. Her life in the City has also resulted in May keeping most of her deeper thoughts to herself. Whether it’s from her sense of responsibility telling her that she needs to take care of herself and not burden others, or from something else (like already having an alien symbiote to listen to all her problems, for instance), May internalizes her problems and very rarely talks about them. May also keeps the secrets of others, even against her better judgment. Though rather than becoming a somber loner to go with all this, May has become rather adept at putting on a cheerful, optimistic face no matter what the situation or her real feelings about it. While she’ll still break the mask a bit around those she loves and trusts, for the most part May has gone a bit of the way of Batman, with the person she presents as her civilian identity serving as more of a mask than her costume does.

Though May dabbles in the quips and one-liners, she is not anywhere near on her father’s level of corny as far as that is concerned. Humor is still a huge coping mechanism in her life, but in very serious, life or death situations or fights May tends to fall silent. When she rambles at the bad guy, it’s usually more directed towards herself and in an attempt to distract them from the fact she’s setting them up into the proper position to take them down. She’s not a master strategist, in face she’s closer to being purely ad-lib than anything, but when she forms a plan during battle she’s usually pretty good at tricking her opponent into thinking she’s just talking and darting randomly rather than getting them to maneuver into place.

For all her confidence, ability, and independence, May is still only a young woman who has lost too much at heart. She looks for acceptance from her family (both blood and ‘adopted’), as well as other superheroes she works with and, when really, truly emotionally upset, she tends to react dramatically. When truly upset or angered, the darker tendencies of the Venom symbiote tend to flare up, ending in May being capable of truly savage acts of violence if not stopped. She is also a woman who was forced to drop out of the first semester of her freshman year of college thanks to the government, and therefore only has a high school education and what she’s picked up from other heroes/her own studying since then.

Powers:
These (including venom, technically) are all canon powers and, while not required, I thought I’d just spell them out here for simplicity sake. Her powers are very similar to her father’s, though some fall short and others exceed Spider-Man’s abilities.

The proportional speed, strength, and ability of a spider:
May has superhuman speed, strength, and agility. She’s not as strong as her father, capable of lifting up to five tons compared to her father’s ten, but is more agile than he was.

Spider-Sense:
A sixth sense that signals danger to May before is actually happens, and acts as a sort of radar for powered individuals in general. The signal ‘tingles’ at varying intensities depending on the level of the threat, with the lowest being what goes off when another superhuman, with no ill intentions, is in the area. May’s Spider-Sense goes above Peter’s in that each person she knows has a set ‘frequency’ on it, meaning that if she’s met a specific metahuman before she can generally tell if they are what is triggering her sense based on how it feels. She’s also figured out that by focusing on an opponent she can detect which areas of their body trigger the sense harder than others and uses this to discover the weak spots/location of weapons on her opponent. When faced with a very challenging opponent, May learned from Elektra to close her eyes and stop thinking, allowing her spider-sense to completely guide her actions, greatly increasing her reaction time and destroying any kind of predictable pattern of attack she may have had.

Bio-magnetic field:
Like her father, May can cling to surfaces and objects, but, unlike him, this is not the limit of her power. Unlike Spider-Man, May’s ability to do this is from a bio-magnetic field she has around her body, which allows her to make others unwillingly stick to an object/surface when she is clinging to it, as well as allowing her to forcefully repel objects, effectively using them as missiles.

Venom
May is bonded to an alien symbiote which was once worn by her father. May is able to: get the symbiote to change its shape and imitate clothing, fire "webbing" from its fingertips, command the symbiote to make tentacles, envelop her enemies, or create spikes and bludgeons. The symbiote is weak against hi-frequency sound and flame. It also tends to up her violent tendencies when she’s upset, and frequently results in May refering to herself as ‘we’ when in costume.

Other Details: Anything else you think we should know.

I can provide links from her in CnC, but as she’s ten years younger than how I intend to play her, it won’t be the most accurate representation of the current character.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: E%patriot Darkleer
Series: Homestuck
Canon Point: many sweeps after sparing the Disciple and going into hiding
History Link: Ancestors in general
Darkleer specifically here and also here

AU/OC History: Darkleer is from the Homestuck universe, and is the ancestor to Equius Zahhak. What little we know about him comes from Mindfang's journal entries and Doc Scratch's retelling of the story of the Signless.

Darkleer was an Archeradicator, the very position that Equius strove towards, and it is inferred that he was fairly high up in on the ladder, considering he had the title of Executor and was given the task of killing the Signless. He shot and killed Signless successfully, but when it came time to shoot the Disciple, he was unable to do it and refused orders, giving her time to escape. This led to his banishment and he became the Expatriot Darkleer. Mindfang, however, still kept in contact with him, and visited him after her battle with Redglare to get a debt repaid by having him build her an arm. She mentions that he was still lamenting what happened that led to his banishment, but doesn't go into much detail beyond that. Finally, Mindfang left the white cue ball that would later lead Vriska and Terezi to ruin with Darkleer, because Doc Scratch couldn't see it if it was with Darkleer.

Personality: Like all the ancestors in Homestuck, we don't know much about Darkleer directly; however, we can infer quite a bit based on the little we do know, and also on Equius and his behavior patterns.

Darkleer is a blueblood, one of the highest landtrolls on the hemospectrum, and as such, is an aristocrat. Manners and customs and proper behavior are very important to him, as they were to Equius, and after many sweeps of constantly observing every social nuance, almost all his joy and spontaneity have been sucked away, and he's a deeply serious individual. Like his descendant, he has no love for games, unless they're high stakes, and expects everyone around him to take him as seriously as he takes himself.

Besides being an aristocrat, Darkleer is also a high ranking soldier, and this also affects his personality. We can assume he had men under his command, and he would take their safety seriously and protect them while in combat. This translates, somewhat, into being protective and distantly caring towards those he's close to, but those are few and far between. Vriska and Equius snipe at each other all the time but have a fairly successful working relationship, and it appears that Mindfang and Darkleer have the same. Beyond the unspecified debt which Darkleer owes her, he has no reason to help Mindfang, and given Mindfang's personality, if the debt were something big she would probably brag about it in her journal. Because she doesn't, we can infer that perhaps that debt wasn't anything too major, and Darkleer was helping her because he chose to and for no other reason.

We also see indications that Darkleer is a meticulous and logical troll. Like his descendant, he has considerable skill in mechanics and biomechanical technology, which requires logic and careful planning to be able to execute. Also, he has survived well into adulthood in a society that thrives on backstabbing and double-crossing, so he's not dumb, by any means. Equius' dumber moments can be blamed on his youth, but Darkleer is past all that. He understands how things work, sees no point in fixing what isn't broken, and just powers onward.

However, Darkleer is not completely immobile and static. He does break with tradition and disobey orders when he spares the Disciple, giving us an inkling that perhaps he has the same doubts about the hemospectrum that his descendant inherits. As a blueblood he'll have an extended lifespan, and as a soldier and Executor, he's seen many trolls die, and somewhere along the line, he began to question things, leading to the Disciple being spared. It's unclear why he chose to do that, but we do know he is still upset about it much later, so he isn't the emotionless husk he pretends to be. Maybe, deep down, he really does need other trolls around, since banishment doesn't seem to be agreeing with him.

Powers: Like Equius, Darkleer is STRONG, although he's had the time and determination to learn how to work around it. He's a gifted archer and a skilled mechanic, and is also smart enough to survive sweeps of blueblood treachery and backstabbing.

We can also assume that Darkleer is a Void player, much like Equius, both for his ability to hide the cue ball from Scratch and also because Equius' planet in Sgrub looks identical to Darkleer's hive. While this is one of the more passive powers, this gives him the ability to hide and blend into his surroundings, to pass without notice despite his immense size. He's basically a ninja the size of a linebacker.

Other Details:In my own personal headcanon for him, after his failure to execute Disciple and her subsequent escape, Darkleer had subjugglators descend on him in a rage and beat him to within an inch of his life. He was then left on the execution platform, presumably to bleed to death. Thanks to being both STRONG and his Void abilities, Darkleer managed to escape, leading to his exile. As a result from this beating, Darkleer wears armor that acts as an exoskeleton for him, since his bones never entirely healed, and he also has trouble speaking. His voice is raspy and rough, and he sounds like a caveman when he talks, using as few words as possible.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Feferi Peixes (AU)
Series: Homestuck
Canon Point: N/A
AU History: This is based on an AU remix powered by CnD, and expounded upon in detail here.

Now to expand upon that in a more Feferi-centric sense. Feferi and Eridan live together as moirails in isolation not far from the capital. She has almost always had Eridan in her life. Having apparently lost her lusus at an extremely young age, she is in a moirallegience that could be considered codependent even for their species. The ocean pollution wreaks havoc on her health and her attachment to reality, but she remains in seclusion even when her moirail heads to land. She is about as capable as a carpenter drone, and does much of the domestic work around their hive. She also hunts creatures of the deep and cultivates particularly colorful, hardy breeds of cuttlefish for Eridan to take to the capital for sale.

She only stays out of sight, away from other trolls, for Eridan's sake and continued survival. Her distinctly rare tyrian blood would make her a rallying point for a lowblood rebellion or to be culled out of hand to keep that from happening. As a result, she's never taken the sopor pills that are considered mandatory for their castes.

Personality: Feferi is exactly the sort of wild and free, purely elemental lowblood that the Empire of her universe has good reason to fear. Her life has been defined by her all-encompassing moirallegiance with Eridan Ampora, and her dependence upon him. Though they are destitute seadwellers, she considers her life to be absolutely fintastic.

She is in a position where her existence depends Eridan, but she is much too wrapped up in the comfort that it provides her to actually care. In a world that would cull her just as to look at her, his affections and attentions are the entire scope of her practical understanding of the world and anything more than that is through fiction. He spoils her outrageously, never forcing upon her the realities of their outside world and giving her anything that their meager resources allow. She is still a hard worker that acts without complaint, of course, but one that is indulged whenever possible.

And while she might whine and weedle if he tries to forbid her to do something she wants to, only in her most irrational moments would she seriously try to defy him. She knows that he knows what is best for her, and she only really resents it when he has to do things that would take him away from her. As a result, she is a proud and unbroken specimen of the seadwelling race that could never exist as she does anywhere else in her world.

Because of her isolation, she has some peculiar habits. She's energetic and prone to skipping sleep until she's pretty much completely irrational. Due to the pollutants the landdwellers filled the ocean with, she really shouldn't spend more time than strictly necessary but she loves it much too much. She goes diving when Eridan isn't keeping an eye on her, swimming into the depths to meet ghosts or maybe figments of her imagination born out of anoxia and exposure to poisonous materials in the sea. She'll spend hours down below, coming up even more jittery and unstable than before.

She has a persistent delusion that she has a connection to something that could bring the end to their entire race and wipe the slate clean for them to start all over again. Why she thinks this is unclear, but she fixates on the concept whenever she gets too agitated. Unlike her canon counterpart who acts as the conciliator of her moirallegiance with Eridan, this Feferi desperate needs him to keep her on something approaching an even keel. She has the rages of the purpleblooded and a distinct tendency towards them for the fact that she doesn't take her mandated medication. Eridan is almost always there to soothe her out of them and get her down from those dangerous, manic highs where she may very well kill someone that didn't need to die in the first place.

Even though she would very much like to go right ahead and slaughter all the landdwellers, she'd make a few exceptions. For example, it would be important to spare Eridan's kismesis because he brings such abysmal hate into his life and that's always important. Though she may never meet the goldblood, she loves him already because she loves Eridan.

Powers: She is a seadwelling troll. As a result, her unique anatomy gifts her with incredible strength and the ability to breathe through gills underwater.

Other Details: If she were to type, she would use a S---EARIOUS lack of spelling n grammer k? 8) SORR-EY! but she would ideally not do so in situations where highbloods might read her words.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Equius Zahhak
Series: Homestuck
Canon Point: Immediately after getting strangled by Gamzee.
History Link: Link.

Personality:

Equius is probably the most perverse and messed up character in Homestuck, and that's saying something.

His blood is coloured Royal Blue, one of the highest blood colours there is (second only to the purple shades), and so he is an aristocrat. Like most of the other high b100d trolls, he considers himself to be better than the lower blood trolls and to basically have a constitutional right and/or duty to boss them around. However, there are also people who outrank him, and so he also believes that those people have the right to boss him around as well. In fact, Equius is so devoted to this caste system that it has become something of a fetish for him. He specifically asks Gamzee to order him around at one point, and basically punish him for all of the "bad things" he's done, in a "professional" and non-childish roleplaying scenario, but it doesn't work out very well.

He becomes extremely flustered when people act in ways that don't fit his mental stereotype of how people of their caste should act, and this cognitive dissonance is obviously arousing to him as well. I think that's why he latched onto Aradia so much, because she was one of the lowest-blood, yet she acted refined and dignified instead of base and rough. This inspired fantasies in Equius of raising her up to his status, and a whole elaborate story about how grateful she would be, and how she would become his devoted companion. Of course, it didn't work out that way, since he is so completely socially inept that he didn't consider that forcing her with programming to like him might not go over well, and was, yanno, completely immoral. When Aradia beat the crap out of him, he discovered that he rather liked the role reversal, and proceeded to try to order low-blood trolls to order him around, getting off on it when Karkat issued orders and that sort of thing.

Equius has poor impulse control and a serious anger management problem. He sweats profusely when excited and will fly into an uncontrollable rage if things go wrong (such as if he breaks something) which happens with disturbing regularity. The only thing that can calm him down is an act of violence - either he can break something, or if someone smacks him around or breaks something in his vicinity, it will usually calm him. Like most high blood trolls, Equius has a pretty strong thread of violence running through him, and he is the worst at actually controlling it. Equius is pretty much prey to his rage. He also values physical strength extremely highly, and it affects his typing quirk, making him capitalize the word STRONG and incorporate the concept of 100% wherever he can.

However, he's far from just a big, dumb jock. In fact, Equius is highly educated and extremely intelligent, using long words and good diction in his speech. He is a robotics genius, and can do some pretty amazing things with robots, despite the fact that most of what he does with them is for the purpose of simply destroying them in death matches. He also has an appreciation for Nude Musclebeast Portraits (which is pretty weird and involves paintings of horsecock, but apparently an ancient trollish tradition).

So basically Equius is a big, strong, but smart, troll, who just needs (and wants) a firm hand to keep him under control. A dominatrix would probably do just perfectly, though it would have to be someone with the physical strength to manage it.

His devotion to hierarchy and his desire to be dominated is so strong that he argues with Karkat when ordered to kill Gamzee, saying that he doesn't have the right to try to stop the murder spree of someone of higher blood caste than he. And he doesn't even resist when Gamzee kills him, dying on his knees with a smile on his face, despite the fact that he likely could have broken Gamzee like a twig with his bare hands with ease.

Powers: It's unknown what powers Equius got as the Heir of Void. He doesn't have any game-breaking powers, except that of being e%ceptionally STRONG.

Other Details: Look at this handsome, manly piece of troll

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Tavros Nitram
Series: Homestuck | Derpbent AU
Canon Point: Right before starting their game session.

AU/OC History: Derpbent has yet to reveal too much about Tavros’s past, but one thing is for sure, he’s definitely spent time underwater and not. Being a sea dweller, and having a water breathing lusus, he was raised under water and spent the majority of his wriggling days there. But Tavros is a rather social person, even if he has troubles with some people, and his hive- being a huge underwater tower- has a peak that sits just above the water’s surface, and he’s made sure to have a means of getting from there to a cliff hanging from a mainland. This is how he gets to meet a lot of the land walking trolls and eventually befriends a good amount of them. Though, most of his huge underwater tower is just that, under water. Though, with all its rather bright gold décor, it’s not hard to find, above water tip, or underwater tower.

Tavros was raised by his lusus, Bub, a bullshark like creature (lusii beings creatures with animal like qualities that raise trolls), a rather over protective bullshark with a very confusing opinion on his troll. Though Tavros cannot directly speak with his lusus, it always seems like he’s being judged, always seems like his lusus, though, cares for him (he knows this because Bub will bring dead carcasses to the tower for Tavros to eat, which he assumes is normal caregiving behavior), is always judging and disappointed in him. Sometimes Bub seems to get very aggressive, as if to try and teach Tavros how he wants him to be. Doing things like, taking him hunting, waking him up by scaring the shit out of him, slamming into him while swimming to try and get Tavros to be more aggressive in general. But Tavros always feels like he leaves the bullshark lusus disappointed. They have their nice moments though, and Bub, being extremely large- hell of a lot larger than any bullshark on earth- does well to protect his squeamish troll.

All the swimming and exploring with his lusus soon gave way to a new discovery! Well, they made a lot of discoveries, Tavros is actually extremely wealthy because of them, but this one was new! It was a troll hive, but not any troll hive, this one was a live unwater volcano! He didn’t think any else of it until he and Bub nosed around a bit and found an entrance.

This hive ended up being the hive of Sollux, a royal purple blooded troll who Tavros befriended and eventually became the moirail of. They’re extremely close and Tavros tends to visit him often. Granted, like the first time Tavros stumbled upon the hive, he got lost in the labyrinth that is Sollux’s entire hive. Like that first time, Sollux finds him so often, very lost, but Tavros seems to be getting the hang of it slowly.

During this time Tavros spends a lot of his life getting to know people of all blood castes and even gets into FLARPing, which he does with a few friends, a group that includes Vriska, who spends most of their time together tormenting Tavros. For a while she used to make fun of him for making up his best friend, Sollux, but through video games Vriska has found that Sollux is indeed real. Tavros’s other friends, who thought Tavros might have been making up Sollux as well, now believe him too, which is nice. The purple blood didn’t really enjoying people thinking he made up his best friend, it was kind of disheartening. What else is aggravating- though thinking his best friend is fake and getting picked on is already aggravating enough-
Is getting hit on a lot, but it’s usually by one person, Eridan. He seems to think there might be something between him and Tavros, but Tavros… is very sure there isn’t. Tavros isn’t really good with romance in general and tends to try and keep it away from him. He’s just not cut out for it and it makes him really nervous. It’s better to just keep away from it entirely, so he tries. Sollus has always been an exception. Their moirail ship seems to always have worked and never faltered. If anyone can make Tavros be completely relaxed it’s him. Too bad a lot of others still seem to mess with the both of them though…

Most of his history that we know of consists of that though; flarping, gaming, spending time with friends- especially Sollux, talking to people- especially Sollux, and swimming around exploring- with Bub. Just recently they’ve started to talk about this game, which Tavros isn’t against really; he just wants to be properly informed! Which would be easier if people didn’t stop forgetting about him.

Game Import: N/A

Personality: Hello Tavros, this is the part where we talk about you, and what kind of troll you are. Unfortunately, you are a horrible troll all around. You are just too sensitive to really BE a troll, though you try, you really try, and you really try to be a respectable highblood too, but… You’re too kind and caring, loyal to your friends, helpful, everything that a troll should not really be too much of. Maybe if you had a little hate in you it’d be okay, but no. You’re a little pathetic when it comes to that, you have a great friend in Sollux though and knowing he’s there and is infact, not a fake made up friend, really does help! Sometimes…

Getting confused and uncomfortable seems to be two things you do often as well, and you are pretty nervous about a lot of things, but you usually get past these emotions and do what you can. You are not very confident though, and you do your best to be polite. Sometimes it feels like people just plain forget about you. It’s become habit to remind others that you’re there, because they uh, actually do forget about you even being there. It’s okay, you just like to watch and try to figure out what people are talking about or about what’s happening. It’s not your fault you don’t respond enough! At least you try to remind them anyway. Generally, people seem fairly polite to you, though there are a few cases where that’s not… really apparent. Vriska is a good example. You still seem to FLARP with her for some reason, even though she tends to pick on you constantly and hang you from tree limbs. You think she should probably not do that though because you are a highblood and should be treated with respect, right? That’s how it’s supposed to be anyway, you try, you really do. Apparently making fun of you and messing with you is a bit contagious too, though the others tend to apologize. It’s nice of them to let you team up during FLARP though! Even if you seem to get handed off a lot… Sometimes it feels like people don’t really want to have you as their team mate.

You get easily get overwhelmed, but in that you know what you can take. As Tavros, you seem to know if something is a bad idea, though you may not immediately back out of it like anyone smart would do because you are very unsure all the time and like to get other people’s opinions. Though, you spend a lot of time alone, and most of your advice comes from Sollux who, might be a really awesome moirail that you care for a lot, but his advice tends to center around hiding and not dealing with people. This advice, while good for Sollux, doesn’t really help you because you tend to visit land a lot and actually talk to and want to get along with a lot of people!

You also seem to have many interests, gaming, trains, and glamorous fashion. You also really enjoy visiting your moirail and you actually do it quite a bit. You spend a lot more time with him compared to anyone else. For a while people used to just think you made him up and you just hung out with yourself all the time, but now everyone knows he’s real and that’s actually really nice. It’s pretty cool to have friends that know eachother, even if you end up having to send messages back and forth between him and them. That can be a little annoying and sometimes gets confusing, but maybe Sollux will want to be more social one day?

We should probably note something else about you too. No matter how much crap you have to deal with, with is an awful lot, you never seem to get really mad, which is strange for a highblood. You might be purple, but you kind of lack any anger or frustration. Sometimes it seems like you get agitated, but that usually doesn’t last long and you always seem to end up being the one to say he’s sorry. You do try to assert yourself though, since you are a purple blood and deserve to be listened to and respected.

Well… just because you deserve it doesn’t mean it’ll happen you guess.

Powers: He’s extremely fast and agile in the water, strong there as well, and his strength from living his life swimming is noticeable as well. He can also breathe and see underwater and has a particular knack for communicating with sea life. Tavros also has experience with a guns, mostly rifles. Other then that? Nothing.

SAMPLES

All right, so he’s been traveling for a while now, all this swimming is really starting to tire out his body, but Bub really seems to want to travel out this far. Not really sure why… but he’s always up for adventure and for some reason his shark lusus seems to have a goal in mind. Tavros isn’t sure what it is, but they’re moving really fast and have certainly seemed to have a place in mind. Usually they slowed down, idled around a little, searching the sea floor for signs of treasure or food, but this was purposeful so pretty exciting actually! Though, this water was starting to get really warm and he was pretty sure it wasn’t because he was swimming behind Bub…

Though that has happened before.

And uh, well, it’s not very pleasant, at all…

Either way, there’s definitely something ahead, Tavros can tell by the huge shadow coming into view through the dark water. It’s a little hard to make out right now, but he’s pretty sure that’s where all the heat is coming from! Also it’s getting a bit denser here, like the water has a lot of contrasting flow patterns. Bub seems to know what he’s doing, but it takes Tavros a bit to adjust, he’s not used to swimming in such unstable hot water and it’s starting to really bother his gills.

“Oh… wow,” his lips mouth, but he doesn’t speak, only a few bubbles leave to float up and away as he gets a look at the volcano. His eyes dance over the veins of red and yellow moving every which way and the glow catches on various gold and metal parts of his attire. He can’t help but get closer and Bub seems to give an approving glance seeing his troll so enamored and ready for adventure.

It’s scary, yeah, but, you won’t get anywhere if you don’t try! You have to make yourself known, be bold! Highblood’s are bold! And it certainly seems bold to get closer to a volcano. And what a volcano this is! It’s spewing heated water all around them and no inch of it is covered in any form of life besides some rather strange looking worm like creatures near parts of the black smooth surface. Tavros circles around it, rifle ready in hand as he looks over the rock formation and soon his eyes light up, glancing to Bub for a moment before he draws nearer.

Is that, he though, moving closer, seeing an even darker spot at the volcano’s base. It is! Oh wow, that is very cool, he thinks again, realizing the dark spot is an opening, and he looks over to Bub with a bright, excited expression before diving down fast, heading for the small cave, bullshark following either flowing tuxedo tail of Tavros’s suit.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Medusa Gorgon
Series: Soul Eater
Canon Point: Pre-Chapter 87
History Link: Soul Eater Wikia.

Personality:

Medusa is her own master. She has a goal in her mind, and will do anything she has to in order to change the world. In her mind the world has become stagnant, and she believe she is the one to cause an evolution in the world. Having been living for hundreds of years, seeing the start of the Demon Weapons that her sister had created, and the birth of the Demon God Asura, she wishes the world to go back to that time of great turmoil and strife. To accomplish her goals, Medusa uses her skills as a master manipulator. With her plan to revive the Demon God Asura, Medusa had to spend years manipulating and scheming.

She took a demon weapon and melted it down, and injected it into her own child, Crona. That wasn’t enough for Medusa’s plan, so she tortured, abused, and forced her to kill. When Crona did what Medusa asked she got little praise from Medusa, keeping Crona doing those horrible acts because she thought she was pleasing her mother. With the Black Blood inside Crona, Medusa had to get closer to Asura. She used a spell to hide her Soul and made her way into Shibusen as a nurse. She took on a new persona as the nurse, as a cute and innocent woman who cared about her students.

While at Shibusen, it’s revealed how much she hates that atmosphere that Shinigami has created. The professors like Dr. Stein and Spirit are goofy and playful, more often than not preferring to joke and flirt than do anything serious. When she visits Shibusen later in a child’s body Shinigami picks her up and then Shinigami and Spirit go off on a tangent talking about her bloomers. Medusa’s response is at first to stay calm and try to steer the conversation back to important matters, which quickly breaks down into her threatening to kill Spirit if he even mentions her underwear again. Medusa is a serious person, hating those people who would rather fool around and joke than deal with important things. She has no problem threatening anyone who annoys her, including Spirit, the strongest Death Scythe in the world.

As one of the strongest Witches in the world, Medusa is very sure of herself. The only person she seems to fear is Shinigami, the Death God that controls the world. When she finally meets him she is almost nervous. She fears him so much that she releases Free so that he could trap Shinigami during the time she plans to resurrect Asura.

While Medusa is full of evil thoughts and plans, she has a bit of a softer side. At first, Medusa cannot stand Dr. Stein, as he seems too lackadaisical and exemplifies that mood that pisses her off about Shibusen. However, as the only person to suspect her as a Witch, and the ensuing discoveries she makes about his true insane nature, she offers to let him join her in awakening Asura and leading the whole world into a new era of Madness. Even though he turns her down, she continues to try and break Dr. Stein’s tenuous grasp on sanity during their fight. In the end she loses, but not before she nearly falls into insanity herself after being cut in half by Stein. As the fight ends, Stein tells her not to mess with his feelings, because neither of them really know what love actually is. He is correct, Medusa seems to have no real idea on what love is, seeing as the only person she shows romantic interest in is the one who is the most insane of all the humans she has met, in in her own words, he “actually has creativity”. In that aspect she has a warped view of how love works, which is probably a cause for most of her sinister ways.

As a mother, Medusa is utterly a failure. Then again, it does not matter to her, as she only ever ‘mothered’ Crona in order to make the Black Blood and Ragnarok stronger. She realized very quickly that the easiest way to manipulate Crona was to hold out on any sort of affection for her until she had done what she wanted, which usually subsisted of murdering little bunnies, then humans and Death Scythes as she got older.

Medusa has little tolerance for failure, as it is another of those things that annoys her. In order to keep Eruka from failing her, she implanted her with snakes that would explode, killing from the inside. She even tests Free’s loyalty to her, presumably with a plan to get rid of him if he refused. Medusa always seems to be steps ahead of everyone around her, with different plans to accomplish her goals.

She is not prone to fight herself, instead she uses those that she controls to fight instead, only getting in when she has no other choice. She uses people like Free, Eruka, Crona, and her synthetic Clowns to do the fighting for her, rather than put her own life at risk. During her fight with Justin she never put her own life in danger, instead swapping her body with the Clowns. She even convinced Shibusen to help her destroy Arachne by given them the BREW. Indeed, she prefers to manipulate others into fighting her battles. Although, when Maka and Soul defeated Arachne, Medusa attacked without a second thought, fearing that Maka would become too dangerous to her plans. When Tezca Tlipoca stepped in Medusa ran rather than put her new body at risk, even though she regretted not killing Maka when she had the chance.

Though Medusa has two sisters, she shows no love what so ever to them, especially Arachne. During the original battle with Shinigami hundreds of years ago Medusa sacrificed her own sister so that she could escape and survive. Later after the resurrection of Asura, she convinces Shibusen to fight and kill her own sister so that Arachne does not gain more power than her. At the end, she trades in Rachel’s body for her own sister’s, fighting off the remaining consciousness of Arachne, showing no remorse. During the fight she even calls out her sister for calling herself the “Mother” of the Demon Weapons when all she did was read a book and follow the steps inside. It’s obvious she hates her own sister and has for most of her life, leading her to be as independent as she is.

While she relies on others to work for her, Medusa does not truly rely on them as a friend would. Where Maka and Soul work together in an equal partnership, Medusa is more like a parasite. Given her ability to take control of animals, humans, and even her own sister, it’s plain to see this comparison.

Witches often have a central theme to their magic, and Medusa is no exception. She uses snakes and arrows (possibly given their similarity to snakes) in her magic and incantations. When she gets angry her face contorts and looks more snake like. Her usual position is sitting cross legged on an arrow, and she almost always goes without shoes when she can. When she is cut in half by Spirit and Stein even her blood is shown to be snake-like. She snake tattoos on her arms that she can control and transform into real snakes when she needs to.

Powers:

Medusa is a very powerful witch, with her central theme being snakes. She has snakes in her body that she can create and control, even having them get inside other people. The snakes also have the added power of being able to explode on Medusa’s command, which is how she is known to manipulate people to do her bidding.

Her fighting magic is based on Vectors that she can summon and control. They range from plates on the ground that move people involuntarily in the direction they point, to using them like spikes to lash out at an enemy. The Vectors have almost infinite uses, like equipping them on a fighter’s arm to make their punches stronger, or using them as a marker to show the way through a maze.

Given that she is a Witch, she also has several other powers that most Witches seem to have. She can use Soul Protect to hide her presence, she can leave her host and switch into other bodies, as well as live seemingly forever by switching.

Other Details:

She’ll be coming in Arachne’s body.

SAMPLES

“This is so stupid,” she muttered to herself, narrowing her eyes. It was midnight and she sat with the village around a large fire, dressed in their ceremonial robes. It had taken two weeks to get this far, and every second was excruciating to her. On the outside, she happily went along, smiling and pretending to enjoy herself, but in her black heart she was screaming.

“These small town hicks, I cannot stand this any longer!!” she yelled inside, never breaking from her act. It wasn’t long until the festivities began to die down, and the Head Priest approached her, offering to show her the inner temple. It was obvious why, he had been eyeing Medusa ever since she had set foot into the town, the lust clear in his eyes.

“Of course, I’d love to,” was her response, and she gave him her hand, allowing herself to be led to the Temple away from the crackling fire. Inside the temple was quiet and dark, and almost instantly he started to move in on her. His hand slowly worked from her waist and trailed up until he had a grasp on her breast.

“O-Oh my,” she let out cutely, all the while imaging the million different ways she wanted to see this man die. “Will you atleast show me the alter?” she asked, coyly avoiding the situation. “Then you can do whatever~ you~ want~” she whispered with a wink. The priest was all too happy to oblige. As they approached the alter, Medusa’s eyes instantly spotted the bright red stone she had come so far to get. As the priest turned his back to show her the alter Medusa took the opportunity to come down hard on his head with the back of her foot.

“My, my, sleeping on the job?” she joked to herself, reaching into her coat to pull out a small capsule. “I would have preferred to have you killed, but that would cause too much suspicion,” she said explaining herself to the unconscious man. She forced the capsule that would cause the man to forget his short term memory into his mouth and swallowed.

With that out of the way she rushed to the altar that had not been touched in a thousand years (or so she had been told) and swapped out the small fist sized stone with an exact replica she had made. Finally, her plan finished, she stepped out of the temple and found the nearest towns guards. She explained that the priest had tripped and passed out, and she had no idea how to help him. The rest of the night went as planned, the man woke and had no memory of Medusa knocking him out, and there was no suspicion that the stone had been replaced.

The next day Medusa announced that she had urgent business and would have to leave the village. The children who had grown close to her in that time hugged her legs and refused to let her go.

“It’s alright children, I’ll be back someday,” she said to them sweetly, lightly touching the littlest one’s cheek. The scene made Medusa sick to her stomach. With her final goodbyes, Medusa headed out on the road, only to meet with her ‘team’ at the forest, out of sight of the village.

“I have what we came here for, we’re leaving,” she barked at them, kicking off her shoes, and tearing off the commoner’s shawl she had on. Settling into the limo, she took out the stone, placing it on her knee in front of her. “Perfect, this will be just perfect...”

Other characters: Colette Brunel (holysongwhoops)

CHARACTER INFO

Character Name: Eddward (Edd, or "Double D")

Series: Ed Edd 'n Eddy

History Link: http://ed.wikia.com/wiki/Edd

Personality: Calm and mild mannered Eddward (or just Double D, as he is regularly known by). The middle man, a rather polite, kind and intelligent individual with a strong moral center...unlike the entire world around him. Having befriended a couple of buffoons who would soon become his lifelong friends, the loss of them both due to dimensional doohickies might put a slight strain on his normally quiet demeanor (new friendships can only patch it up so far). A highly intelligent person even by his age, Edd has been known to construct devices out of common household appliances and spare parts which work...more often than not, actually. Many think how good of an inventor might be were he to get ahold of some real parts...

He is also well read and quite colorful in the English language and some many other random cultural elements.

Another big, unambiguously good trait of Edd is his ability to forgive and accept those he would call his friends. Even if they do something horrendously stupid. A lot. He just will. Not. Give up.

Nonetheless, Edd has his flaws like anyone else. He can be quite nervous at times, as per usual for a young kid such as himself. He is polite to a fault, having been brought up on a strict regimen by his parents--while he himself is fine with this, many may find it a tad off. A weakling at heart, it would take quite a bit of motivation to spur him to courageous acts--something which can only be provided by companions as no monetary gain seems to interest him beyond his current needs. "Illogical" thinking can send him on a tangent quite easily, especially if he begins to stereotype his own friends depending on their own level of intelligence. Finally, he seems to be almost OCD about how he organizes things.

Do not be surprised if he flips out over something. Being friends with two of the biggest dimwits imaginable has done it's due to his patience as is. A whole new crazy world...just might be up to par what he's used to.

http://bakerstreet.dreamwidth.org/300968.html?thread=226048680#cmt226048680

^^^^A little bit of how Edd talks to others. Specifically, when asked a question. Above all else, Edd is comprehensive. It's practically his middle name (it isn't--his middle name is Marion--but you get what I mean).

(These links work fine, just copy/pasta. ^_^)

Powers: None. Other than a rather high IQ and he can take more punishment than would normally be possible for someone his size.

Other Details: While Edd would find the idea of a lost realm absolutely absurd and would initially believe it a dream, he will come to realize it as fact soon enough when suitable evidence shows itself (a good pinch will also do the trick). While we never see him use a computer proper, there's little doubt he knows how to operate one amongst other sorts of contemporary machinery or otherwise.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Arturia Pendragon/Saber
Series: Fate/Stay Night/Zero
Canon Point: Roughly two years after the end of the fourth Holy Grail War.
History Link: http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Saber_%28Fate/stay_night%29.

AU/OC History:
This version of Arturia hails from the fanfic "The Princess Knight" which can be found here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7917047/1/The_Princess_Knight

A summery of that AU is as follows:

Arturia's history branches from the moment in which Kiritsugu mind was temporarily entrapped by the Holy Grail, which showed him visions of his wife and daughter in an attempt to lure the magus killer into making a wish. In canon he is able to resist by following his pragmatic ideals that it is better to save as many people as possible. Here, instead, Kiritsugu chose his family over his former wish of ridding the world of evil and chose to make a wish for his wife and daughter to be happy. However, as the Grail was tainted by the darkness of Angra Manyu, the wish was twisted, restoring Irisviel to life in a new body but consuming Kiritsugu's life, and many more in the resulting fire that came afterwords, in order to do so.

In the confusion afterwords, Irisviel finds herself in the burning wreckage of Fuyuki City frantically calling her husbands name. It is Saber who ends up finding her in such a state, having just enough mana to linger for a few hours more after her master's death, and attempts to carry her out of the blaze. On the way out Irisviel comes upon a red-haired child half buried in rubble and on the verge of collapse , unable to leave the poor child to die, she implores Saber to bring him with despite the impractical nature of the request. Saber eventually complies, knowing there was little time to argue, and summons all her strength to save all of them from the spreading flame.

Escaping the aftermath of the Grail War, the trio eventually arrive at a hospital where the young boy is checked for any damage he may have sustained. In the meantime, Irisviel, not wishing to be alone with her daughter far away and her husband passed away, forms a contract with Saber. After finishing the ritual binding master and servant, Irisviel kisses Saber in the heat of the moment, though she isn't sure why she did so. Some hours later, the child, named Shirou, is found to be in stable condition, though it will take several weeks for him to recover from his injuries. Irisviel also decides that she wishes to care for the child if no one else could be found to take the role.

Finally safe, Irisviel and her Saber move into the house Kiritsugu had used as a base of operations during the war. Fixing the place up a bit they lead a quiet life together for sometime. However, in both their minds lingers the thought of the kiss they had shared after Shirou's rescue. While in Saber's mind it had come across as an act of affection meant as a reward for saving her master's life, Irisviel thought differently seeing it as a physical manifestation of her own latent feelings for Saber.

For weeks both manage to stay silent on the subject until, one day, while on a shopping trip Irisviel shyly asks the King of Knights if anyone has ever been in love with her. To which she responds that even if any such person held feelings for her, her role as knight and king would likely have prevented her from returning such affections. Irisviel, thinking that their new peaceful life would allow for romance, confesses her own feelings for her servant several days later. Unsure what to think of such advances, it takes several days for Arturia to reach a conclusion on the matter. Reflecting on her relationship with Irisviel, the fact that she was the first person in centuries who had treated her as a human being rather then a king or knight and had shown her so much of the outside world she never would have seen simply following Kiritsugu's orders. Even if it was just a small spark of a feeling, Arturia found she had feelings for her new master as as well. Confessing she felt the same way to Irisviel, both began living as a couple just a week or so before Shirou's was set to be released from the hospital. As a result of their new found closeness, Irisviel dropped calling her servant-turned-lover Saber entirely choosing instead to address her as “Arturia” in private and “Miss Pendragon” in public.

Soon afterwords, Shirou's recovery was completely making it time for him to come home to the shared Einzbern-Pendragon, as Irisviel had officially adopted the young child. Though shy for sometime around his new family, Shirou eventually takes to Iri and Arturia and begins to treat the both of them as his new parents. In particular, Shirou is highly influence by Arturia's chivalrous attitude and idolizes her for her talent with a sword and her many tales of knights and other memories of a bygone era.

After getting Shirou used to his new home, Arturia and Irisviel plan the rescue of Irisviel's daughter Illya from the clutches of her father, the patriarch of the Einzbern family, Acht Von Einzbern. Though rough, the rescue mission is a success and ends with the entire family together under one roof. In the process, Irisviel renounces the Einzbern name on the grounds that she no longer wishes to be affiliated with a family that has brought so much pain to so many people.

When home, though Illya is rather aloof with Arturia, often clinging to her mother's side all waking hours of the day after months of being separated from her, the king of knights does her best to keep up with the child and hopes someday they can be friends.

The whole family finally together, Irisviel finally tells Shirou of her past as a magus, though she leaves out key elements regarding her being an artificial human, after discovering the young boy has a talent for magecraft. As a tradeoff for not teaching him magic, seeing it as to dangerous after experiencing the ruin of the Grail War first hand, Arturia offers to teach the child the basics of swordplay and the ethics behind being a knight, an idea that excites the red-haired youth to a great degree. During these discussions the issue of Irisveil revoking her family name is also solved with her taking Arturia's last name as her own, and passing it along to her children in the process. A vow as close to marriage as possible for the two women.

In the present, Shirou, Illya, Irisviel, and Arturia all live as a happy yet slightly dysfunctional family with Arturia working part time at a local restaurant while Irisviel watches the children and takes care of of half of the house work.
Game Import:

Personality:
Due to her role as king, in her original life, Arturia was a stoic and pragmatic woman who made decisions based on what would be best for the majority of those under her. Often sacrificing a few people in order to save many more. However, this method of rule eventually backfired on the King of Knights as the public often saw her as a cold and distant figure. Eventually culminating in betrayal by her own knights at the Battle of Camalan. This led to the Arturia to have a rather sorrowful view of her reign as king, seeing herself as someone who failed those she served to the point that she began to wish that someone else had been chosen to be king instead of her, a belief that would stick with her well into the holy grail war and become her driving force for gaining the Grail for herself.

After being summoned by the Einzbern family during the fourth war, she instantly takes issue with her master Kiritsugu for his cold and calculating view of the world. Being a knight who is intensely proud of her chivalrous nature and upholds it even in the midst of the fiercest of battle, the fact that her master, Kiritsugu Emiya, was a mercenary with who had no problem killing his foes in stealthy and underhanded ways, she instantly comes to blows with him over matters of ideals. She also displays respect for those who share similar views of battle, a fact clearly seen in her battles with Rider and Lancer who both are just as chivalrous as her, though in slightly different ways.

She is far closer with her master's wife, Irisviel Von Einzbern, whom Kiritsugu sets up as a decoy master for Saber in order to throw off his enemies. Spending a majority of the war alone with Irisviel, we see Arturia's softer side as she does everything in her power to make her lady feel comfortable. Often calling Irisviel her princess, Arturia seems to show genuine affection and friendship towards the Einzbern homunculus.

Arturia is also rather protective of others, as seen in her relationship with Irisviel, and will go through great length to ensure their safety. However, in the same vein, she strongly dislikes being told by others that she needs to be protected. Seeing such statements as a slight against her status and all that she has done in her life. She also dislike people assuming that she is weak simply because she is a woman.

As a person and woman, rather then a knight and king, Saber can be rather shy, especially in manners of romance and other emotional matters. Seeing as she never had time for such things during her first life time, both remain rather alien to her and often cause Arturia to blush profusely when confronted with any related situation. She also does not see herself as attractive because she has a rather boyish build and does not compare favorably to more feminine woman.

Following the end of the Grail War and her forming a contract with Irisviel, Arturia's personality has softened a bit from living a peaceful and quiet day-to-day life free of battle and conflict. With her role shifting from warrior and guardian to mother and lover, she has had something of a hard time adjusting to such a life, taking many weeks to simply feel comfortable living with her new master. After taking a romantic liking to and becoming a couple with Irisviel, she eventually becomes used to domestic living, though she still remains nervous from long periods of inactivity at times, she works out such issues with her daily practice of swordplay and extended moments of meditation.

With Shirou's arrival, Arturia does her best to play the role of mother to the small child, partly out of a genuinely wanting to be a part of the child's life and partly out of her regret for not being able to be a fitting parent to her “child,” Mordred. It takes sometime, but in her own way, she eventually connects with Shirou..

In the case of Illya, Irisviel's biological child, Arturia has had less success in bonding simply because Illya is so attached to her biological mother. Sometime in the future she hopes to form a stronger bond with her adopted daughter.

Powers:
Due to her training as a knight, Arturia is well versed in swordplay and military tactics as well as being rather physically fit.

She also possess a number of magical artifacts of some power.

Excalibur, the Sword of Promise Victory:
A sword given to Arturia by the Lady in the Lake and her personal sword arm. Excalibur is in many ways the symbol of her reign as king. Aside from being a magical sword of some power, it is also capable of focusing Arturia's manner into a powerful magical blast capable of destroy huge swaths of foes at once.

Invisible Air:
A magical spell Arturia uses to keep Exalibur out of sight. Can also be used to form a powerful gust of air capable of great destructive power.

Avalon, The Ever Distant Utopia
Excalibur's sheath and a powerful defensive Noble Phantasm. Capable of guarding most attacks, Avalon also grant's its owner a powerful regenerative force when paired with Excalibur. This item is currently not in Arturia's possession as it was given to Shirou to heal the wounds he sustained during the aftermath of the Grail War.

Other Details:
Saber's current hobby is riding and repairing motorcycles, a pastime she picked up after her master gave her a bike during the Grail War. She also works part time at a local family restaurant to provide for her new family. Finally, though she is not legally married, due to more then a few issues, she considers Irisviel to be her wife and treats her accordingly.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Sollux Captor (AU)
Series: Homestuck / Derpbent
Canon Point: Right after his lusus dies
History Link: See below

AU/OC History: There isn't much of a set "backstory" for Sollux in Derpbent, but enough of his life has been revealed that it can be easily inferred. Likely since the time he was merely a wriggler, he has been Heir Apparent to the throne, and thus a "threat" to the Empress' reign. Since the Empress would rather her position not be threatened, she has sent scouts and assassins daily in an attempt to have him killed. His lusus continued to protect him from these attempts thought his young life (which is not Gl'bgolyb) is an electric eel-like creature (although Sollux not having Gl'bgolyb as a lusus is more of an author error than Sollux's blood not being as high as it should be, since the information that every magenta-blood had Gl'bgolyb as a lusus wasn't released yet). While his lusus continued to defend him, the Empress realized over the sweeps that her scouts failing to return to her meant that her heir still lived.

In reply to her scouts deaths, she continued to send even more assassins to kill Sollux, obviously too bothered with her own position on the throne and decimating other civilizations to be bothered to kill him herself. Without a lusus as large and dangerous as Gl'bgolyb, Sollux had to learn to defend himself, and spent a good part of each day fending off the assassins the Empress sent after him. It's essentially an everyday activity, and as a result, his hive is almost entirely inaccessible. He built his hive in the center of a dead volcano, and used the carpentry drones to construct an elaborate labyrinth kept entirely in darkness around his hive, to confuse and hopefully lose any invaders that had found his location. His lusus roamed the halls of the maze, using his electrical currents to cause the assassin's radars to malfunction and eating those who would lose their way down there. Those who find themselves in it without Sollux as their guide often don't find their way out, and die trying.

A good part of Sollux's life was spent like this, waiting for the day he would eventually be killed by an assassin, or weakly hoping that some day he would kill the Empress just on the sake that he would be rid of her. If Sollux had never met Tavros, another fellow seadweller that was shockingly kind, he likely would have spent the rest of his days alone. Through time, the two became sort of dependent on each other, in a moiraillegiance sort of fashion. It was then that Tavros would tell his other friends about Sollux, all ten of the others failing to believe in Sollux actually existing. One of magenta blood was rare to come across, and the fact Sollux refused to go on the surface or even leave his hive only further discredited Tavros' words. But eventually, when Sollux warmed up to the idea of speaking to other trolls, he would speak to them on his own through Trollian, and they realized he wasn't fake. Somewhere along the line, Sollux became close friends with Kanaya, a maroonblood. Kanaya is a FLARP player, and during one of her excursions found the ancient tombs that contained the hieroglyphics of the SGRUB. While she couldn't translate them, Sollux could. He then sent the translated words to yellowblooded Vriska, who serves as the session's programmer. She finished the code, and already begun organizing teams of her own without letting Kanaya in on that in some attempt at rivalry. Of course, Vriska's plans wound up backfiring on her, and Kanaya sends the game .~ath file to Sollux. Unfortunately at the time, he was too preoccupied to run it, since the power went out in his hive, and therefore meant something was wrong with his lusus. After a short search, he finds the assassins who had taken to blowing up his hive rather than navigating the maze that surrounds it, and kills them. He then finds his lusus dead, and mourns.

AND THAT'S ALL THE HISTORY THERE IS SO FAR!!

Game Import: N/A

Personality: The Sollux Captor of royal blood is still essentially the same Sollux of his yellow blooded self, but certain traits are dulled and others amplified, as per usual of any bloodswap. He's still the bipolar and moody kid who loves video games and has heterochromia, same as he is in the original Homestuck 'Verse. The major difference here though, is his new blood color and how that effects his personal life.

The irony of the situation is that Sollux never wanted to be Emperor. He would have been perfectly content with never taking the throne, if he was just allowed to live in peace. He would gladly switch places on the hemospectrum with anyone, if it meant he would never have to deal with being hunted every moment of his life. But of course, things don't get to work out that way. At one point in his life, Sollux would have liked to changed the way things were in terms of making trolls a more "caring" race, much like Feferi had her BIG PLANS to do. But concern over what others would think of him, and the realization that it would be a miracle if he lived long enough to gain power eventually extinguished the idea. He still would rather not see things in terms of blood caste color, and is actually rather close friends with Kanaya as evidence of this. He would rather not be treated as royalty or even as a highblood, preferring that others don't speak to him formally just because of his title. But because of this constant concern for his life, Sollux has rarely, if ever, left his hive. Of his eleven other friends/acquaintances, only Tavros (a fellow seadweller) has seen him in person. Because of his dangerous-to-navigate hive, on top of the fact it's underwater and he refuses to go to the surface, Sollux has not met another troll face-to-face that hadn't been trying to kill him (aside from Tavros).

Unlike canon Sollux, Tyrian-blooded Sollux has a very close relationship with his lusus (which he named Ampere). He's very affectionate towards Ampere, and it's probably the closest relationship he has with another living thing, due to his recluse nature. His relationship with Tavros, because of his self-imposed reclusion, is extremely strong. It's actually a moiraillegiance, which might seem odd at first. Neither troll seem too dangerous or close uncontrolled violence, but without Tavros to depend on for personal contact, Sollux would likely lose his mind, (Sock implied that as a "bipolar hermit genius living at the bottom of the ocean with monsters and assassins and a very justified fear of dying, whose only positive face-to-face interactions have been with his man-eating lusus," and Tavros, that Sollux was almost supervillain material. So with what Sollux has to deal with on a daily basis, it's better that he has someone to glub feelings with every once in a while.

Sollux experiences the same moodswings that his canon-self does, but to a lesser extent. Since he doesn't hear psychic voices in his head, there's only migraines motivating the more explosive moodswings and it's just generally a much less severe case. It's less of a disorder, and more "extremely moody", in short.

He still is as intelligent as his yellowblooded-self, and still is the main translator for the SGRUB game (although it's not called that in this AU), where he was given the original hieroglyphics by Kanaya (of maroonblood) and he then turned it over to Vriska. Back to Sollux; as a highblood, he doesn't have any psionic powers, nor does he hear the voices of the imminently deceased. He has no known psychic abilities, or prophetic dreams. Although he still has his heterochromia, it has yet to develop into vision twofold. However, it has been implied that he will have to deal with the possibly psychic dealings his yellow self has in the future, although they will be a lot more painful due to lack of the collective pain tolerance that yellowblood-Sollux has had due to years of dealing with.

Video games are still a big thing for Sollux. Seeing as he hardly leaves his hive, and books are kind of impossible to even exist underwater, video and computer games are his sole ways of amusing himself. He still retains his temper though, and has a tendency to ragequit his games when it becomes apparent he is going to lose. Spoilsport? Absolutely. This brings about some upset on Vriska's half, since she takes pride in utterly decimating her enemies online, and she can never beat him if he just leaves the game before she wins. He, however, could care less (although he probably tells everyone she was cheating using her hacks and that's the real reason he quits. They're both kind of brats when they play games together).

Powers: Extremely fast (underwater), and expert at assassin-like at one-hit (fatal) K.O.'s. He's limited by his low stamina, somewhat weak body structure, and the fact he's unaccustomed to living/surviving on the surface. What is air (literally). He has Dinglhopprkind Tridentkind strife specibus, meaning he fights with a trident, although it only has two prongs (so a... bident?).

Other Details: Appearance here.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: The Disciple
Series: Homestuck
Canon Point: A short time before the Signless is captured.
History Link: Link. To elaborate on what’s available at the wiki since it’s rather sparse: The Disciple’s story is bound up with that of all the other Sgrub players – when the first round of players decided to restart their game for better odds of winning, she was one of those whose roles were flipped from being the players to becoming the new round of players’ ancestors.

Made through ectobiology by Karkat and sent to the past on a meteor along with the other ancestors, the Disciple would have had a normal enough start in life for a grub in Alternia of those times. A greenblood’s life wouldn’t have been as hard as that of someone lower-blooded, but a troll’s life in general was a difficult and dangerous thing. Like her descendant she most likely learned how to hunt early on from her lusus, and while little else is known about the Disciple’s life before she fell in with the Signless, it is likely that for her own safety she grew to prefer solitude to the danger and cruelties that were part of everyday life when living amongst other trolls. This would mean that unlike her descendant, Disciple would have been slow to trust and quick to shy away from company.

All that changed for her the day she met the one called the Signless. She was so taken with his message she became one of his most devoted followers and faithfully listening to and recording his every sermon. Eventually their feelings for each other developed into a love that transcended the quadrants themselves, and she followed Signless as he spread his message across Alternia, up until when the highbloods captured him. (I’ll be taking her from shortly before this point.)

Personality:

The Disciple was heavily influenced by the time and place she grew up in. Fighting for survival on a daily basis meant that as a wiggler she couldn’t afford the easy trust and naivety evident in her descendant – but that’s not to say similar traits weren’t present, simply that she wasn’t allowed the luxury of them for a long time. Being a huntress lent a feral edge to her nature, making her quick to shy away from others and slow to extend the hand of trust, let alone friendship. She used to believe that this made her stronger, and in a way it did, but at the same time it meant she was simply getting by and surviving rather than living, rather than reaching for who she could really be.

Things changed for her the night she first sat down to listen to a signless troll stand up and speak of his visions to a crowd. In the end, that she so fully welcomed Signless’ teachings speaks a great deal of her true character. Caring for everyone regardless of blood colour, striving for the kind of trust that was not only impossible but nigh on suicidal in a society like Alternia’s, forgiving the cruelties done to them – and more than that, believing in his visions and dreams of another Alternia, a different a peaceful Alternia – were all difficult things for a troll who’d grown up seeing what trolls were capable of doing to each other. Disciple, however, believed in it all so fervently as to not only decide to follow him for the rest of his life, but to faithfully record everything he said and spend the rest of her life doing whatever she could to make sure his message did not die with him.

Her time living with the Signless didn’t only affect her beliefs, however. As unknown as the concept was to trolls, he and the Psiioniic and the Dolorosa gave her a family, nurtured her, gave her a chance to grow up and mature into a troll not moulded solely by fear and her survival instinct. Her more playful and sometimes even mischievous nature was given a chance to make itself known, and while she’d never be as carefree as her descendant she certainly didn’t remain the nearly-wild huntress who’d first listened to Signless’ sermons. She could finally allow herself to care, to let the gentler parts of her nature out.

This is not to say it always came easily to her. Her wilder nature may be subdued but it’s still definitely there, and at times she can be quick to anger, having a hot-flaring temper especially when something she cares for is threatened. It leaves her liable to making rash decisions, to not thinking things though, and inevitably to being disappointed in herself afterwards for not maintaining a more level head. But part of her yearns to be intrinsically optimistic and while this part sets her up for harsher falls when things go wrong, it also helps her to overcome difficulties by always looking ahead to a possibly brighter future.

Her newfound friends and lover also inspired a fierce loyalty in her – she believed in everything that the Signless preached, but that didn’t mean she’d allow anything or anyone to hurt those she cared about if she could help it. Caring, however, did also open her up to being hurt, made her vulnerable in a way, and while her belief in Signless meant she tried to make herself see that as a good thing, she could never quite quash the fear of losing him, of not being strong enough and fast enough to protect everything they’d worked so hard for. She could still be wary of trusting others but over time it came easier to her, and once her hand was offered in friendship it wasn’t easily snatched away again.

Although I’m taking her from before Signless’ execution, it’s worth mentioning that her loyalty lived on even when her loved ones were all taken from her, though she lost nearly everything else. She’d been robbed of the chance to continue protecting them, so instead she did the one thing left to her - she dedicated her life to making sure what they worked for wouldn’t be forgotten.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Name: The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (he represents the entire kingdom, though by himself he is just England. Also will answer to Britain or the name of the country in other languages. He is presumably the only brother that attends world conferences, so the other countries have come to know him as the UK, while he is called England by his brothers) / Arthur Kirkland
Series: Hetalia: Axis Powers
Canon Point: 1943
History Link: character wiki page, and some WWII notes

Personality: To most people, England is seen as cold and obstinate, maybe even a bit troublesome. He is, in fact, unyielding in his beliefs (especially if he hates you, at which point he will always try to prove you wrong). England can be seen as hardworking and rigid; he will always finish a job, no matter how pointless, to you, it may seem. He will lecture anyone who questions his methods. He is rather old-fashioned and likes it that way.

No one is perfect, however. England the supposed straight-man gentleman can be rather nasty when drunk and he will hold grudges forever. He absolutely hates to lose. He has no problem calling you every name under the sun. When he was younger, he was a vicious pirate who tormented weaker countries like Spain. He is also a closet pervert (and a masochist). While most of his views on the world are pessimistic, England also tends to be romantic. He likes to keep his outward appearance very tidy and refined. But inside, he's a total punk. He does not fully comprehend the significance of death, and he may even look down on humans because he figures they are weak, inferior beings.

England seems as though he doesn't mind being alone and not having many friends. There is a lot of work to be done, after all, and having few people around means he won't be bothered. Actually, he really is lonely (see: tsundere) and pathetic. When he does make friends (and this may take a while, since he has a difficult time not only with trusting people, but also expressing his true feelings), England is very loyal. He will throw himself into learning about them, and sometimes will give them gifts. If he feels he has been betrayed, he may never forgive you.

At the current time he is taken from, Britain is a strong world power. He was once an Empire that captured and colonized other countries. He knows a lot about fighting and tactics, and has spent ample time on the battlefield. He is used to not only giving commands, but also taking them. He wants to be strong, but is stronger when he has something he wants to protect, or someone to guide him. Though he is very distant in his feelings, when he is fighting or working, he prefers to take things head-on. No nonsense. He doesn't need anything fancy or extra.

While England has won many wars on his own, it should be noted that he is weak-willed and sometimes even naive when preparing for battle. This can be seen in both the Revolutionary War (England threw down his musket and refused to fight America when he came face to face with him, breaking down on the battlefield), as well as the beginning of World War II (England refused to enter the war for a long time, refused to help France because it did not view Germany as a threat. Though this is not Hetalia canon). The point is that England cannot always make rational decisions on his own. He lets his emotions get the better of him and often needs prodding and supervision to move in the right direction, though he may not always take suggestions, even if they could possibly be in his favor.

Relying only on himself has made him a bit of a loner. England is cynical and stubborn to the point where he will refuse to back down to anyone. This standoffish attitude prevents him from getting close to most people. England is also very superstitious, believing in fairies, unicorns, ghosts, and strange legends. He is a terrible cook, he drinks far too much, and he is always losing things. Although he was once a pirate and has a fantastic navy, he cannot swim. At all. He doesn't work out much, so he is very thin and smaller than a lot of the other European countries.

England is afraid of letting people down. He constantly needs to be reassured that he is useful, that people care about him (don't ever assume he knows or should know), though he has a difficult time expressing his own feelings. He often boasts about how powerful he is, yet, in reality, he has little confidence in himself in regards to other people.

His relationship with America (and certain other countries) also may be considered a weakness. He would never admit to this.

All in all, England is full of contradictions...

Powers: Being a country, England is practically immortal. He can take bullet and stab wounds, survive poisons and plagues as long as his citizens are loyal to him. He had a rough childhood, but learned the art of politics and war quickly; he is proficient with a sword and a good speaker.

Tactics may be England's biggest forte. He is very good at preparing for anything beforehand, whether it be war or a meeting, or even something as simple as going grocery shopping. He is also an excellent spy and has, on several occasions, disguised himself in order to get closer to his enemies (he can play a very convincing woman, and he is proud of it). England has a sharp wit and an even sharper tongue. He is the king of sarcasm.

Other things England is good at are knitting/embroidering and acting. He is a fantastic singer and knows how to be sexy, but he is also good at keeping himself reserved. He knows magic (both black and white), healing spells, and also can summon strange beings. He knows several languages (his French is fluent, followed by Spanish and German, and a little Japanese and Italian).

Other Details: don't think so...

SAMPLES
This is quite the long thread. Though it does cover practically every part of his personality, from his stubbornness to his more gentle side.

Any Concerns: I understand that the time I'm taking England from can be controversial. I will not try to force my beliefs or CR on other players if they don't want to play with me.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name:
Germany | German Empire or rather Greater German Reich (Großdeutsches Reich [ 1943 - 1945 ] ) at that specific point in history... He’s had several name changes already, so... Let’s stick with just Germany.
Human Name: Ludwig Beilschmidt

Series: Axis Powers: Hetalia
Canon Point: March 1945
History Link:
History of Germany
Character ‘History’
Greater German Reich

Personality:
For a nation, Germany is still young, somewhat reckless and eager to claim his spot in the world. He may know a lot and may seem mature and skilled, but that is mostly due to him having inherited all the knowledge and abilities from his older siblings when they united and he actually came to be. But what he lacks is experience. Experience as to where that knowledge comes from and how it is used correctly. Sadly enough he doesn’t notice this himself but rather keeps walking the exact same road. If he doesn’t understand something, he gets a book or manual about it and will strictly stick to what he learns from there without bothering to think further. While that might work with the machines he values so much, it doesn’t work too well in regards of other things...

In the ‘Buon San Valentino’ story this behavior gets shown to its full extent. Germany openly admits to Austria that he has no experience in regards of relationships and that his only knowledge about women comes from a couple of romance novels he once read. He doesn’t even know how friendships work or what happiness is, seeing that the only thing he has known thus far is war and how to act around enemies. But the thing is: Germany -wants- to have friends. He desperately wants to keep Italy as his friend, despite how much he gets annoyed by the other nation.

Germany is even willing to simply adjust himself to whatever ‘relationship’ Italy may have in mind without once pausing to ask himself what HE really wants. He is totally fine with the idea of ‘just being friends’ with Italy, until he misinterprets a gesture from Italy as a sign of love, freaks out about it, but quickly ventures to learn how to act accordingly... Only to mindlessly rush into things, thoroughly embarrass himself and in the end be entirely overwhelmed by an onslaught of emotions he just can’t handle. Emotions apparently are the best way to fry Germany’s brain.

But what we see in this is, that he harbors a deep urge to be perfect and meet all expectations placed on him without fail, while disregarding what he himself wants. Behind the serious, pessimistic, disciplined and well-organized person hides a rather insecure and secretly lonely nation that knows a lot, but only understands half of it. The things he does understand, however, he is very confident about and mostly focuses on them, using that confidence as cover for all his insecurities.

He is a hard and efficient worker, but, as we learned before, socially awkward. His strict and uptight attitude may easily scare a stranger away even. Once he considers someone his friend, however, Germany will be extremely loyal, honest, reliable and protective. But he still sort of needs to be forced if it comes to actually doing something fun.

Canon hasn’t dealt (yet?) with Italy’s capitulation in 1943 and its declaration of war against Germany soon after. Even if that was more on South Italy’s account, it is to assume that he dragged his brother along quite equally to how North Italy had dragged South Italy along to be allies with Germany before. Since Germany had considered Italy his only friend, that event may have had some impact on him, only that it’s hard to guess to what extent and that he is quite likely to hide any insecurities or confusing emotions behind anger and violence as he doesn’t know how to deal with them otherwise. I am personally going to assume that it has made him a bit more reluctant in even attempting to making any further friends. He is the kind of guy to draw such a pessimistic lesson out of being ‘betrayed’ once.

A hint of naivety is shown in Germany’s tendency to simply believe what he can’t disprove. This shows in his obedience to manuals, but also how he simply beliefs the stories his brother told him. This doesn’t mean, however, that he won’t listen to someone capable of proving him better, considering that he decides some cross-examination on his brother may be in order after all after being presented some actual footage during the 2011 Christmas Event. He listens carefully and is eager to learn about new things or research things he isn’t familiar with in order to understand them. Which is also why he likes reading books. In fact, he can sound like a textbook, especially when falling into a rant... Which he does when given the chance. Germany seems to like sharing his knowledge, especially when not asked for it.

Germany can easily be tipped to angry outbursts and rather relies to violent reactions when annoyed or provoked or confronted with situations he just doesn’t understand or knows how to deal with. Next to a raised voice, this can be a kick, a punch, a headlock or a shoulder throw, only to name some examples. Yet, he calms down fast and forgives quickly and also doesn’t tend to hold grudges or Italy’s life would clearly be hell. He also tends to release his pent up anger and frustration when he’s had beer. It’s never easy to tell how much on edge his nerves are since he shows few outward signs, if any at all. Because his face is always like that... We had the thing about emotions being difficult, I guess.

Despite being insecure about many things, Germany is confident and prideful in regards of things he DOES understand well. Especially his strengths. Which makes him bit hasty at times. Not just by mindlessly joining or starting wars or jumping to conclusions, but he also easily assumes the role of a leader or superior and will see to getting things organized and everything done by the book. Just as his role as ‘Captain’ within the Axis and how he even orders the Italian army around. Because he can. (And Italy doesn’t object...) Seeing physical health as very important (despite having a secret love for baking cakes and making sweets), he takes his training as seriously as everything else, but, as with his sudden idea to change Japan’s diet, also doesn’t hesitate to force it on others, which is when he slips into his military superior mode and gets to fully use his commanding drill sergeant tone. Though he is prone to overdoing it if he gets carried away too much and eventually pushes himself as well as others to or even over their very limits. He’s just a bit stubborn. But at least he listens to reason if someone shows him valid points despite him having a pretty thick skull.

At the particular point in history I am taking him from he also is a bit... Well. On edge. More than usual, that is. It’s hardly a month before the capitulation of Germany and he has his people dying all over the place. Soldiers as well as civilians. Women, children, everything. His people get hunted down while fleeing from their homes, his cities get bombed to smithereens and the air raids performed by England and America thundering through nights and days don’t seem to be coming to an end anytime soon. But the worst: He can’t do a single thing about it. As a nation he just can’t make any decisions on his own but has to follow the orders he receives from his superiors whether he approves of them or not. And as mentioned before: Germany is always eager to do his job right and adjust to the situation to meet the expectations. This, surely, is no difference.

He is bound to endure the raising despair and misery and the growing loss of it all with no end in sight as long as his boss remains his stubborn self. It’s not like Germany is aware that the war will end in a matter of weeks, so the entire matter is just getting more frustrating with each passing day. He knows he can’t win this anymore, but he also doesn’t know what happens to him once he’s ultimately lost the war and finds himself at the mercy of his enemies. It’s a bit to get over, so... Just give him a moment to calm down and he will be fine eventually. But that doesn’t change the fact that he’s extremely uptight, likely a bit more violent and even more difficult to get to relax than usual.

Germany represents and feels with -all- his citizens and does not necessarily approve of everything that has been and is happening. He even directly complains to Finland about his boss and his orders. Germany rather wants it all to be over and for his people to be safe and content, not dying and in misery as that puts him in misery as well and he shares their pain and feels incredibly guilty and blames himself for failing and for what happened/is happening and for not being able to protect his people better. It’s just natural for a nation to wish for the safety of its people.

Still, he has orders. And as a good nation, as a good soldier, he has to follow them. Has to be perfect and be as he is expected to be. So that’s what he does.

Powers:
He’s a nation and aside from the normal powers as a nation has nothing noteworthy to add here.

Other Details:
There’s another thing to note in regards of the time I’m taking him from. And that’s the fact that Germany will start out at a considerably weakened state upon arrival. Since he is linked to his land and people and the country is just so many steps away from collapsing in itself with its cities destroyed, economy broken down and the ongoing attacks I think it’s more or less self-explaining.

Of course Germany will do his best to hide this as there’s no way he would let anyone notice any sort of weakness. He’s just stubborn and prideful like that.

I’m going to take some liberties here, allowing him to recover over time, even if it will take the actual country decades to recover from this war and slowly get back onto its feet.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Kyon
Series: Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Canon Point: Post-Disappearance
History Link: Kyon's page on wikipedia.

AU/OC History: Note: While she's more commonly called Kyon, for the purposes of the application "Kyon" is used to refer to the canon version and "Kyonko" to the genderbent version. Furthermore, not everyone is genderbent. The parents I'm assuming stay the same and other characters that are too awkward or redundant to reverse the gender of, such as Mori and Arakawa, and I'm on the fence on whether the Tamaru Bros. would be the Tamaru Sisters or not. Thank you.

Proper background: To start with, the nickname Kyon comes from an aunt at a family reunion calling her that, which her little brother found hilarious and had spread around. To Kyonko's dismay everyone calls her this when she'd really rather be called by her name, which even in canon has yet to be mentioned.

Kyonko herself is a normal average girl, albeit a bit snarky and coming off as cynical at times. She has a little brother she cares for and finds immature and annoying and two loving hard-working parents. Growing up she was interested in all things strange and weird--science fiction shows, fantasy novels, ghost stories, and the like. She loved it all and desperately wished for it to be real to make the world or more fun and interesting place. In the original Haruhi novels, Kyon looks for strange phenomenon by staring at a pencil on end and trying to will it to move with telekinesis, going to abandoned buildings in search of ghosts, and hunting down strange lights in the sky in search of aliens. Kyonko does the exact same with the exact same results: nothing turning up. These failures to find something interesting combined with constant conversations with a very rational close friend throughout middle school made her give up on the dream of there being something more to the world than meets the eye. It couldn't be helped, she was just growing up.

Unlike Kyon, Kyonko attempts to get into the private all-girls' Kyouyen High School with her parents realizing she's intelligent enough, but lacks the motivation. Unfortunately, while she gets a pretty high score, it's not high enough and she winds up going to the local public school, North High, instead. It is here where she meets Haruki Suzumiya seated right behind her in class and he makes the iconic declaration of wanting to meet aliens, time travelers, and espers during introductions on the first day. This catches Kyonko's attention and, with Haruki being attractive if a bit sour-faced, she tries talking to him only to get rejected. Asking around school she ultimately finds out information about him from Taniguchi, a boy-crazy acquaintance of hers who went to middle school with Suzumiya.

Haruki, Taniguchi tells her, is an intelligent, athletic student who has no business being in a school with standards like North High's and should've gone to one of the better schools in another part of town. He's a strange guy overall and, like Kyonko did in middle school before giving up, looked for strange phenomenon. He was completely serious about his desire to find aliens, time travelers, and espers during his introduction. Completely serious.

Kyonko finds a way to talk to him, initially by making an observation about him changing his hair every day and actually understanding Haruki's reasoning when he explains it. Kyonko is then flabbergasted when he cuts it all off the next day, but this is where their friendship(?) really starts. The two start talking every morning before class begins and between lessons. Usually about aliens and the like and it always ended when Kyonko said something Haruki found stupid and he'd shut up with a scowl and declare what she said stupid.

It's worth noting that Haruki had a habit of joining a club and quitting in the same day due to it boring him. Nothing was interesting and one of his greatest desires was to live his ideal high school life and find something strange, exciting and interesting. Nothing ever met his expectations. Then Kyonko accidentally put it into his head that he should just make his own club. Haruki, being a go-getter sort of person, did just that and proceeded to drag Kyonko into it despite her protests. He then recruited Yuuki Nagato, who was the remaining member of the Literary Club, whose room Haruki had commandeered for his own club's use, and Mitsuru Asahina, a student a year above them he wanted in the club simply because he was moe.

Unlike in canon, Haruki initially tries to get Kyonko to cosplay, who promptly refuses. However, he has more restraint than in canon than to try to strip a girl and, wouldn't you know it? Mitsuru and her wear more or less the same dress size. So Mitsuru winds up wearing the maid outfit all the time. Haruki complains constantly about Kyonko not being moe and says she should change her "stupid nickname." This is how he starts calling her Kyonko, which thankfully only the SOS Brigade and her brother call her. Unlike "Kyon" it doesn't catch on outside the group. Like in canon, Haruki then tries to advertise the Brigade by both him and Asahina cosplaying and handing out fliers and obviously wind up in trouble with the teachers. Haruki is the only one who gets detention.

Shortly thereafter Itsuko Koizumi transfers in to one of the other classes and Haruki, who had been waiting for a mysterious transfer student to show up, promptly drags her into the club. With five members in the club, enough to make it "official" in some capacity, Haruki then announces the name of the "Saving the World by Overloading it with Fun, Haruki Suzumiya's Brigade" (SOS Brigade for short) and its intended purpose of finding aliens, time travelers, and espers, and having fun with them. What could possibly go wrong with this?

[personal profile] little_miss_snarker 2012-08-11 09:16 am (UTC)(link)
Well, a lot, actually.

For one thing? Mitsuru Asahina? Time traveler. Kyonko has no idea what to think when he tells her in person until a future version of him shows up and leaves her a mysterious clue to remember. He also shows off a mole on his chest that would later prove important due to the number of time loops Kyonko would inevitably find herself stuck in.

Yuuki Nagato? Alien. Kyonko initially thinks he's crazy when he tells her he's a lifeform made of data sent by the Data Overmind to observe Haruki Suzumiya. Then the Class President, Ryou Asakura, who is another Interface for the Overmind tries to kill her in hopes of Haruki reacting when he finds out she's dead. Yuuki saves her, thankfully, and it's kind of hard to ignore the evidence at this point even if she's understandably freaked out. Ryou's data is deleted during this incident and everyone thinks he suddenly had to move to Canada. Everyone but Haruki who decided to investigate.

And Itsuko Koizumi? Esper. After the other two made their initial approach to Kyonko she decided to confront Itsuko who told her she was an esper, part of an Organization of them, in fact, meant to keep Haruki in check. Kyonko didn't believe her either at first, but when Haruki opened up to her after trying to look into Ryou's move with no real leads, Itsuko picked Kyonko up at her front door and demonstrated her powers.

The truth of the situation is this: somehow, some way, Haruki is able to manipulate the world around him at a whim. He has no idea he does this and all factions involved in watching him want to keep it this way. There is every chance he could destroy the world and ample evidence to suggest he did this before. Three years prior to entering high school to be precise. The time travelers cannot travel back further than that, the espers awoke with the knowledge of what they need to do in their heads after that, and the Data Overmind noted a huge flow of data from Earth. When upset Haruki can create pocket dimensions referred to as Closed Space filled with physics defying energy creatures called Shinjin that proceed to destroy everything and make it grow. If the world is covered by Closed Space then there's a very good chance it'll end and be remade into something more of Haruki's liking. The espers can sense Haruki's moods and when it dips enough that Closed Space is created. They can then locate and enter the Closed Space and are then granted abilities to destroy the Shinjin and destroy the Closed Space itself.

Despite knowing this, Haruki somehow still gets restless and bored, not helped by him getting jealous of Kyonko being protective of, defending, and obviously being attracted to Mitsuru. He ultimately tries to unconsciously end the world and take Kyonko with him. The pair wind up in Closed Space in North High, surrounded by Shinjin smashing everything to the ground and the espers unable to properly enter. Itsuko needs the help of her fellow espers to only enter as a phantom of herself that is slowly fading away as she gets locked out and sends messages from her friends: Mitsuru apologizes and says the whole thing is his fault. Yuuki asks her to check the computer, which has a clue about what to do on it.

Unlike Kyonko who was scared, worried, and freaking out, he's actually excited about the destruction around him. It takes the two of them running from the Shinjin smashing up the school, Kyonko expressing a desire to return to the original world, and then making an epic speech before yanking him down by the tie and kissing him to convince him. Haruki thinks he just had a weird dream. Everyone else is left unsure as to if he changed the world once again or not with no hard evidence either way and no way to get said hard evidence.

Now convinced of Haruki's abilities and the dangers they're in, Kyonko winds up in the center of a lot of his unknowing antics. These ranged from a baseball game, a student film she needs to convince him isn't how reality works by making him read out loud a disclaimer at the end of the film before the world changes forever, and a myriad of timeloops the older Mitsuru has to help her complete to keep did try to explain the situation to him, but Haruki dismissed it as a sick prank she was playing on him.

During one of the stable timeloops she winds up caught up in Kyonko discovers she, under the pseudonym of Jenn Smith, is the reason Haruki decided to go to North High. One of the things Haruki had been notorious for in middle school was writing a weird Nazca-style symbol with the tool to draw chalk lines on a baseball field with. Turns out Mitsuru had taken Kyonko back in time to Tanabata three years prior, passed out, and from there Kyonko was guided by Mitsuru's future self. Kyonko was then directed to go to East Middle School where she ran into a younger Haruki, who proceeded to boss her around and goad her into doing the drawing for him. Turns out the drawing was to contact Hikiboshi and Orihime, the two stars representing the gods who grant wishes at Tanabata and due to it being the middle of the night, Haruki never got a clear look at her face and Kyonko gave him the name "Jenn Smith" when he asked for it. Apparently this prompted Haruki to go to North High, believing other people like "Jenn" would be there, if not to meet "Jenn" herself again. Mitsuru wakes up after Haruki leaves and they both get home via the Yuuki of that time period freezing the timespace around them in a small room for three years. For them only a second passed.

There was also a Groundhog Day style of timeloop that involved the last week of August, before school started back up. Haruki wanted the best end of summer ever and, damn it, he was going to try. Yet by the end of the week he was always left unsatisfied and the week would repeat 14859 times. Less than in canon, true, but it was a stroke of luck that after hunting cicadas, going to a bon festival, having a summer job, and everything else, that Kyonko hit upon finishing her homework as a group. Kyonko is a lazy-butt. Of course she hadn't bothered with her summer homework. Turns out what Haruki had been missing was a true end-of-summer event that left them all feeling accomplished and ready for the new school year. At least this is how I interpret it.

These two incidents in particular to provide context for the next incident. Shortly before Christmas Kyonko wakes up to find the world has changed: Asakura sits behind her in class and is apparently human, Yuuki and Mitsuru are normal people, and Haruki and Itsuko might not exist, Kyouyen is now apparently a co-ed school, and the SOS Brigade never happened. Kyonko is frantic and freaks out during this. Sure, she has her family, but the world just isn't right and she just about tears apart the classroom looking for Haruki since, for all she knew, the world had ended and been remade with no warning whatsoever. This naturally causes an uproar but people assume it's stress and the flu going around that are getting to her.

The next day she manages to find a clue left by the Yuuki of the original timeline to find the "key" and execute the program to return things to as they should be. This involves finding Haruki and one of her classmates, Taniguchi, who had been out sick, comes in and points out that, yeah, Haruki exists. He just went to Kyouyen instead of North High after it went co-ed a couple years ago. Sure enough, Haruki is there and Itsuko is one of her closest friends there. By using the pseudonym of "Jenn Smith" Kyonko manages to convince him to get this version of the Brigade together, something easily done considering Haruki's personality. They all gather into the Literature Club's room and a message from Yuuki pops up on the screen, giving Kyonko the choice to keep things as they are or to return them to how they were.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Estellise "Estelle" Sidos Heurassein
Series: Tales of Vesperia
Canon Point:
History Link: Link.

Personality: At a first glance, Estelle is very much what she looks like: a princess. Having grown up within the capital's castle all her life, she's a touch sheltered and more than a bit naive. Up until the events of the game, almost all of her knowledge came from books and various tutors she's had. While this gave her a vast amount of knowledge regarding things like mythology, politics, and technology, it didn't do all that much for her street smarts. If you were to ask her about a random, miscellaneous fact, she'd probably be able to answer it without a doubt, but on the other hand she has little actual real-world experience. In that sense, she takes things at face value; things like jokes or sarcasm tend to fly by her, and instead she'll take it seriously. She's not exactly what you would call dense, but she does tend to be rather gullible. Still, she's polite in her words and does her best to learn and understand the new things that surround her.

However, beyond that Estelle is one of the kindest, most compassionate people you could ever meet. No matter who it might be, it troubles her to see someone in pain or suffering, and she will always do her best to help them whether it be by healing their wounds or aiding them in some other way. Others may see it as naivety or stubbornness when Estelle tries to see the best in everyone, but that's just the way she is; she is not a hateful person, even when someone wrongs her. She chooses friendship and companionship over indifference and hostility, even if they might be the most bristly of people or difficult to get along with in general. When Estelle accidentally kills someone, someone who had shown nothing but generosity and understanding towards her, they simply told her with their dying breath to never forget about the deep compassion Estelle has for other people. It's her heart that makes her special, who she is; no title or special powers can define Estelle so easily.

Unfortunately, her compassion is often what leads her to trouble as well. Due to the fact that she wants to help so many people all at once, it often turns out like she's leading everyone else to do a bunch of things at the same time. She frequently has trouble coming to a firm decision by herself, sometimes needing a gentle nudge into calming down and thinking about what she really wants to do. It happens enough times where she even gets called out on it; even if she has the best intentions at heart, in the end she's simply doing whatever she wants without a care towards what the others want do, making them follow her with whatever whim she has. As she matures over the course of the game though, Estelle comes to understand what it is that she truly wants to do and comes to her own decisions on her own, without help. She develops critical decision-making skills and is able to make them just fine by the end of the game.

Beyond her nobility and role in saving the world and all that, Estelle is really just your average person as well. Her love for books not only extends to just reading them, but her personal dream is to someday become a writer and write her own stories for others to read. She simply loves stories of any and all kinds. Estelle also seems to have a fondness for animals if her affection for Repede is any indicator; however, despite her efforts to befriend the dog, he always seems to scoff at her attempts of friendship or otherwise ignore them. Though it always leaves her disappointed, she also always resolves at the end to one day befriend Repede and other animals, somehow and some way. At the end of the day, Estelle is really just like a lot of other people with common wants and desires: she wants to know more about the world, and she wants to know more about herself. Most of all, she wants to be able to live in the world she loves with the people she cares for.

Powers: Estelle is capable of using artes, otherwise known as magic and skills more or less. She's very good at healing artes, and most of her attack-based magic spells have an elemental affinity for light. She's also capable of magic like boosting defense and attack temporarily or even rendering someone invulnerable for a short amount of time. Her physical attack artes are different sets of strikes and combos with her weapon. Back home Estelle is also known as "The Child of the Full Moon"; it will have little relevance in the game, but back home it meant that she could use her powers without needing to use blastia like everyone else does.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Shiki Ryougi
Series: Kara no Kyoukai
Canon Point: middle of The Hollow, two days before she leaves the hospital
History Link: Link.

Personality: To understand Shiki as she is today, you have to understand how she was in the past—back when she still had the personality called SHIKI within her. The Ryougi family has the supernatural ability to be born with a second personality, one male and one female. Ever since SHIKI awoke within Shiki, she has never known loneliness, never known what it was like to be without someone else. However, it also meant that as a child, when she should have had a naive and unwavering faith in other people, she knew how ugly they could be. It was this that made her grow to dislike other human beings, and herself for being one, and why she didn't interact with people all that much. SHIKI outright states that he and Shiki both hate other humans, and that certainly seems apparent given how distant and cold Shiki appears to be. That wasn't to say they disliked each other; rather than think of them as separate people, they're just two faces of the same person, just with different priorities. Shiki, who did not want to be harmed, could only "affirm" things while SHIKI, who only knew of harm, could only "deny" things. SHIKI represented all of Shiki's repressed thoughts and desires, things that could potentially open her up to other people. As they put it themselves, Shiki killed SHIKI over and over within herself. That's why SHIKI only knows of murder.

Due to the nature of having such a complicated split personality, there is a history of family members who inherit this trait going insane. By attempting to masquerade at a somewhat normal life, Shiki thought she could deal with her abnormalities like that. However, once she met Mikiya Kokutou, things began to change. Rather than just pretending to have normal "happiness," she began to understand what it meant to truly have it. She who was so far removed from normality, who at first glance could be called abnormal, began to understand what it meant to be normal. Unfortunately, this created a contradiction within Shiki that she couldn't resolve—with a heart that could only "affirm" things, she wanted to deny this chance at a normal life because she whole-heartedly believed that she couldn't attain it. Denying was the "domain" of SHIKI though, and it caused the two to become more and more out of sync. Both of them could see that continuing to interact with Mikiya would only cause insanity; to resolve this, Mikiya had to die. However, Shiki couldn't bring herself to do it. To destroy her own dream with her own hands—that's just too cruel, right? So instead she took the only option she saw available to her; she took herself out of his life by letting herself get run over.

Skip to two years in the future though, and it turns out that getting run over by a truck landed her in the hospital in a coma! Who knew? But more frightening than that was the fact that Shiki could no longer feel SHIKI. He was gone, had disappeared—he was dead. For the first time in her entire life Shiki knows what it means to be alone, and if that wasn't bad enough her eyes began to see strange things, lines that could make something break apart and die with a single touch. Everything she has ever known to be sure in her life was turned completely upside down; without half of who she is, she can't even be sure of the person she's supposed to be. Is she Shiki, the female personality who acted cold and distant towards everyone, or is she supposed to be SHIKI, the vibrant and exuberant male personality. She can't reconcile the fact and spends a good amount of time brooding and trying to understand what has happened to her. Eventually, she does come to understand that she is the female Shiki, but the way she views her memories after the coma still makes it difficult; her own memories feel more like a movie to her, starring people she isn't concerned with. While she knows that she is the person in her memories, she no longer feels like that person due to losing Shiki, and thus feels a distinct sense of disconnect between her past self and her current self.

Frightened, confused, and utterly alone, she eventually attempts to gouge her eyes out in a fit of terror. Fortunately for her though, that's when a woman by the name of Touko Aozaki steps into Shiki's life and offers to teach her how to actually use her eyes. Not wanting to fall back into the empty void she had been seemingly floating around in for the last few years, Shiki will decide to take her up on that offer. Even though she feels utterly empty and has no sense of purpose in being alive, she wants to find that sense of purpose. She doesn't want to waste the second chance at life that SHIKI gave to her by dying. Shiki understands how scary and lonely death is better than anyone, and that's why she wants to be able to treasure the life she has instead. In order to make sure that SHIKI isn't forgotten by those that knew him, Shiki also takes up many of his personality quirks. While maintaining the cold, aloof attitude that is her usual self, she also begins speaking using a masculine pronoun and in a blunt, direct way that resembles the way her other self spoke. Shiki wants to move on with her own life, but she keeps getting tied down by the past in trying to understand it and come to terms with it.

Powers: Shiki's most powerful ability would be the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. They allow her to perceive the inherent mortality, or death, of theoretically anything and everything that exists, in the form of lines and dots. Tracing or cutting the line will damage the target, usually resulting in cutting, cracking, or falling apart. Piercing a dot effectively erases the target's entire existence, thereby killing it; this death is apparently so absolute that said target cannot be revived in any way, not even through reincarnation. However, the older something is, the more "existence" it has amassed, thus making it more difficult to kill; finding the "death dot" takes a longer time and more concentration. They can still be found, but it just takes more effort. According to magus Souren Araya, she could find the "death dot" of anything as long as she tried hard enough. It doesn't matter what her target is: from spirits to the future to psychic powers to even the remains of a Buddha, Shiki has killed them all. In her own words, "My eyes can see the death of things. That’s why… as long as it exists, I can even kill God."

As the heir to the Ryougi family, Shiki has been trained in numerous forms of self-defense, most extensively sword-wielding. This particular skill has been trained so far that wielding a Japanese katana will induce a sort of self-hypnosis called self-suggestion, greatly increasing her mental and physical capabilities. For example, when armed with a knife, her usual weapon, crossing a distance of three meters is a fairly easy task. However, should she be armed with a katana instead, her range instantly triples to nine meters.

Other abilities of note include being proficient hand-to-hand combat and a near inhuman tolerance for pain. She has enough self-discipline to withstand having her arm twisted and broken in midair without much reaction beyond narrowing her eyes, make leaps from very high floors of buildings all the way to the ground, and cut her own hand off without passing out or anything like that. Her martial arts and knife-wielding contain a wide variety of moves, and she takes advantages of moves like nerve strikes, palm strikes, drop kicks, and a number of different types of attacks.

Other Details: Nothing that I can think of!

[She doesn't know where she is, but that's only a small addition to her already long list of unsettling things in the time since she's been awake from her coma. Even in this unfamiliar, possibly unsafe place though, she stills refuses to un-bandage her eyes; she doesn't want to see those things again, and she'll chance walking around blind rather than open her eyes to that.]

Don't hesitate. [It's a small mutter to herself, said more out of frustration than actual determination.] Don't hesitate. Who knows; maybe it'll be easier here to figure things out than that stuffy hospital room.

[She remains sitting on a miscellaneous bench somewhere, listening for anyone passing by. When she does, she calls out.] Hey, you over there. [And if she manages to get their attention...] Do you happen to have a knife by any chance? Or know where I can get one?

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Haruki Suzumiya
Series: Haruhi Suzumiya series
Canon Point: Post-Someday In the Rain (though also a lot of time in Luceti))
History Link: Link.

AU/OC History: More or less exactly as canon other than the sex/genders of all the relevant characters being reversed. That is to say:
Haruhi -> Haruki
Mikuru -> Mitsuru
Itsuki -> Itsuko
Yuki -> Yuuki
Kyon is still Kyon because it's a nickname, albeit now "Kyon-chan" instead of Kyon-kun or sometimes "Kyonko" to members of the Brigade, particularly Haruki

This reversal applies to all characters except very minor ones (such as the teacher, Okabe) or ones which it might be awkward to have the sex/gender reversed on (such as I still waffle on the fence with the Tamaru brothers and Arakawa/Mori). This means that other side/minor characters (Tsuruya, Kyon's sister; now his brother, the Computer Club President, Kunikida, Taniguchi, etc) are also the other sex/gender.

I say "exactly" the same, but because of them being different sex/genders certain events will play out differently by definition. For one, Haruki is somewhat less physically forceful than Haruhi - a girl being forceful (such as molesting/undressing Mikuru) is more acceptable/expected so in Haruki's case it's usually a matter of intimidation/glares (he is after all exceptionally tall for a Japanese person at 5'9 in canon and 5'10 now) and forceful language. Other members of Group Dynamics are also somewhat different, such as whole Mitsuru is still the primary dress up doll and in the maid costume (cross-dressed), for purposes like the bunny costume or other things like that, Itsuko is sometimes put into it as well (rarely, Kyon as well, but that's rarely).

Some other incidents which are different include that during the events of Lone Island Syndrome Haruki would have needed to meet Kyon's parents to allow their daughters to get permission to go on the trip (he passed with flying colors, to Kyon's amazement) and during the events of Melancholy because of gender-roles playing such a big part in the finale it was not Kyon telling Haruki something she found appealing in him (Kyon telling her that she looks good in a pony tail is canon) but rather Kyon doing something to appeal to Haruki (letting down her hair, because he has a fetish for long straight hair). Similarly, other more minor events would play out differently: Mitsuru's "molestation" at the hands of the Computer Club would be relying on them being crazed fujoshi by reputation (and him being shirtless with the president on top of him) or that Kyon would not have quite as much physical labor demanded of her as her canon counterpart (usually, that would be shoved on a combination of her and Yuuki, though she does still get menial tasks) and during some of the early arcs instead of Haruhi's trademark tie-pull, it would be a ponyail-pull, though Haruki quickly grew out of that, having stopped by summer break.

Most other events up until his canon point (post-November, so following the arc at the cultural festival (Live Alive and Day of Sagittarius) as well as the anime's Someday in the Rain) go relatively/very similar to canon events within minor exception though, because some of the stuff which gets very gender-roley (Disappearance and Intrigues in particular) hasn't happened for him yet, despite all his time in Luceti.

Game Import: Haruki is coming in with memories from [community profile] luceti, where he was for a total of 29 months, about a year and a half. During his time there a great many experiments and Shifts happened, as well as the onset of a war, numerous interpersonal issues, kidnappings, and a wide myriad of other things which changed him as a person. It's not fair to say he's been traumatized per se, but he now does have a series of triggers due to some more serious events - he hates death explicitly due to seeing Usagi Tsukino die rather violently, and will do whatever he can to ensure people he cares about are out of harms way. He hates outright violence or use of force to get things now because of some bad experiences with Senel Coolidge, among others. He's trained in self-defense but considers himself a non-combatant for this reason.

During his time in Luceti he founded a branch of the SOS-Brigade there. Over time it's had a wide variety of members for various lengths of time (usually people only left when they dropped) including Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon, a long time member), Excellen Browning (Super Robot Wars), Leon D.S. Geeste (Star Ocean, a long time member), Rena Ryuuguu (Higurashi, a long time member), Alphonse Elric (2003 anime - with his body - a long time member), Uriko Nonomura (Blood Roar, a long time member), Killua (Hunter x Hunter), Misa Amane (Death Note), Taichi Yagami (Digimon), Shinpachi Nanakura (Peacemaker Kurogane), Rika (Higurashi), Hanyuu (Higurashi), Shion (Higurashi), Yuzu (Devil Survivor), Atsuro (Devil Survivor), Miu Matsuoka (Strawberry Marshmallow), Naoki (protagonist of SMT Nocturne), Vash (Trigun), Mikage (07-Ghost), Mammon (Reborn), Keiichi Maebara (Higruashi), Kotori (X), Ahiru (Princess Tutu), Razette (07-Ghost) Arthur Dent (Hitchhiker's Guide), Mike Nelson (Mystery Science theater 3000), and Tear Grants (Tales of the Abyss). There were other members such as Osaka (Azumanga Daioh), Mikey (Teenage Mustant Ninja Turtles), Ritsuka (Loveless), Yuzuriha (X), Zell (FF8), Hinata (Naruto), Mai (Avatar), an OC named Katie McCoy, Chibi-Usa (Sailor Moon), or Rue (Princess Tutu) but for the most part these were short-lived or by inactive-ish players. Shortly before dropping he'd also recruited Nightcrawler and Shadowcat from X-Men and Minako Arisato (the female P3P protagonist, played as the male protagonist's twin in Luceti).

...Phew that got long. Anyway aside from the Brigade Haruki has lived for years in the same house (Luceti's House 10) - for the most part until she dropped he lived with the Kyonko who apped in at more or less the same time as him. Their relationship deepened over time and for several months they were actually dating, having been made a couple due to a Valentines Experiment and pushing on from there. When she dropped he was depressed and infuriated, and came to know and live with Shiki Misaki (from The World Ends With You) who was similarly pining after a dropped Neku. The two got close and almost would have rebounded on each other if not for Minato Arisato (the protagonist of Persona 3, a longtime friend of Shiki's and not!friend of Haruki's) intervening and the Neku re-apping. Neku came to live with them after that, and him and Haruki on and off bonded. Those three (Kyonko, Shiki, and Neku) along with Rena Ryuuguu (who lived with them most of the time), Hanyuu (who lived with them some of the time), and for a brief spell Chikane (Kannazuki no Miko) made up the mainstay of Haruki's housemates. There were others, but most of them were short-lived or temporary things.

There was and is an trend of romance in Haruki's time at Luceti. As noted he was with Kyonko until she dropped and was almost with Shiki as rebound, but aside from those two he developed a crush on Usagi Tsukino (though she was dating Alphonse the majority of the time Haruki knew her), a thing with Rena Ryuuguu (which she vaguely reciprocated, but it never went anywhere), had some experiment-born moments with Chikane (KnM) and Mitsuru (Persona 3), and a few people (Uriko, Luka from Vocaloids) had a thing for him. Ultimately, though, after he got over his loss of Kyonko, Haruki's relationship with Winry Rockbell (FullMetal Alchemist) grew the most. He fell head over heels for her over time and finally confessed to her a few months before he dropped. The two dated during that time, growing closer until my unfortunate dropping time. He'll be coming in still very much in love with her.

Haruki being Haruki he also naturally made enemies and rivals. Hermione (Harry Potter) was one of his big school rivals, and OC named Paru was one of them too. In terms of enemies he encountered Sho Minamimoto (TWEWY) as one of the worst but also sincerely dislike Raphael (TMNT) despite him being Winry's friend and Joshua (TWEWY) despite him being Neku's. Additionally through a very complicated plot which isn't worth explaining he and Kamui (X) were on very, very bad terms, and to go along with Kamui was one of Kamui's friends, Duo Maxwell (Gundam Wing).

Some other CR of his includes Sokka (Avatar) who was the best friend of Winry and he knew in that capacity, Guy Cecil (Tales of the Abyss) who was a confidant of his, Shirley (Tales of Legendia), Walter (Tales of Legendia) who built things for him, KAITO (Vocaloids) who he became the new Master of eventually, Gokura (Reborn) a long time friend-enemy of his, Senel (Tales of Legendia) who he hated, Stella (Tales of Legendia) his wife who once won a pageant he threw, Emil (ToS2) who won another category of it, Patchouli Knowledge (Touhou) who won yet another, Rohan (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) who he read the Luceti Manga of and generally was amicable with, Buffy Summers (who he was never on good terms with), Adell (Disgaea), Katara (Avatar) who he knew mostly through Sokka, Makoto (Sailor Moon) who he knew through Usagi but liked a lot, Estelle (Tales of Vesperia) who he managed to hook up with Gokudera, Merlin (BBC) who he refused to accept as "Merlin" and thus called him "Jobe," Raine (Tales of Symphonia) who was his teacher, Gelda (Tales of the Abyss) one of his other teachers, Shina (Hetalia) who made things for him, and Arche (Tales of Phantasia). Aside from this he also knew big name village personalities in Luceti such as Albert Silverberg (Suikoden III) and others.

In his time in Luceti he also learned about his god powers. The first inclination he had of this was when he was kidnapped by the Malnosso for personal experimentation. His skull was drilled into to poke around in his brain for anything, and he came back with a large scar, even if the bone damage was healed. But when he actually learned it was when the Malnosso's reports on them were disclosed to the population, albeit encoded. Guy Cecil found it, Leon decoded it for him, but Haruki wouldn't see it for some time. When he did there was some fanfare, but ultimately not the world-ending consequences that the series predicted (mostly because he'd seen so much before then). The real big manifestation of his God powers was after a certain July dubbed "Hell Month" (because there were numerous player plots including Kefka sending down flaming trees on the village and Teases from D.Gray-Man killing people, including Usagi) went Haruki gave up on the world and sucked a lot of his CR into a Closed Space. Due to Luceti's 50% power level, the Closed Space lasted abnormally long (days) and was only ended by people getting through to him that there was no point trying to make a new and better world despite Luceti being awful.

Finally, it is worth noting his only "proper" canonmate was the Kyonko mentioned above. Every other canonmate Haruki got in his time there was from OU Haruhi, including several Haruhis (which were relatively short lived for the most part), a similarly short lived Yuki or two, a Ryoko, and a Kyon or two. Every one of them left a a little pang for him to be interested and later disturbed by alternate universes, but the worst of it was when one of the OU Kyons informed him that he was a member of Haruhi's SOS Brigade and not his own. Since then he's become increasingly possessive about people from his world or his people that he met in Luceti (having been there a long as he had he naturally experienced things like his friends being dropped and then picked up by a different player - thus coming back with no memories. This most notably happened with Rena Ryuuguu). The insistence that people's memories define who they are and that very variation is a unique individual played out with both of these cases as well as any AU event Luceti had in which people were turned into various AU versions of themselves.

Um. I'm not sure if that covers everything. If you want to look up his old entries they are imported on [personal profile] deusexhormones and I could try to make a timeline of events if needed too.
deusexhormones: (Ah...hahaha.)

[personal profile] deusexhormones 2012-08-11 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality: Haruki Suzumiya: brilliant but rejecting social standards, fun loving but tyrannical, energetic but easily bored. Frankly, this guy is a mass of minor contradiction that spin themselves into a portrait which, while not flattering, presents us with what is in many ways a normal teenager boy, albeit one which hates his own normality. ...But really he's just a fun loving guy who happens to be a mad overlord.

On the exterior, in Kyon's own words, Haruki is one of the most handsome boys you'll ever see as long as he keeps his mouth shut. The minute he opens it, or the minute a smirk comes on his face, you know something terrible (for everyone else) is liable to follow. Haruki hates the status quo of the world, or more specifically, he hates that he is swept up in it; that he is trapped is a complacent mundane existence. As such, he actively seeks out the strange and abnormal, particularly after the founding of the Brigade. Now that he's several months into its creation that is in full swing, and the world would probably be a much better place in his eyes if he could find aliens, time travels, sliders, or espers. Or indeed, anything which goes beyond the "normal" world around him.

It is worth noting, however, that in spite of rejecting this normal world externally, and wishing he could internally, he Does not think that the normal world is not reality. He does not really completely believe that aliens or espers or the like are real, but he WANTS OT BELIEVE (tm) and will say that he does. But he doesn't. he is a hopeful skeptic.

But even when he's not looking for those things (or forcing his minions to do so) he's coming up with ways or forcing his Brigade members to come up with ways to ensure entertainment and to prove the worth of the SOS-Brigade. Haruki is completely taken with the idea of ensuring the popularity of the Brigade (and therefore himself), but he extends that desire onto his "minions." While he might abuse them or use them in various ways he does genuinely care about making sure they have a good time... even if he rarely listens as to what their opinion of a good time might be. So, fun and ethos - a good show, right?

his virtues mostly come out of his flashes of genuine good will. Haruki is not a cruel person (or at least, not intentionally cruel - he often can be ignorant of other people's feelings and frankly not care about them, but he doesn't go out of he way to hurt others), and frankly will sometimes use his own power and influence and talents to help people out. Often, this helping out comes with some sort of price, but when it comes to the Brigade or when he's in a particularly good mood, he might be considerate of others too. He's just... really awkward about it. For a boy who rejects human interaction on a superficial level if it bores him (but is shocking not that antisocial!) Haruki is, as you might expect, reluctant to show too much of himself to others. he's also not used to being thanked, often blushing or getting otherwise flustered when people show his sincerity in a positive way.

...Basically, he's a tsundere. Just a very energetic and forward one about anything which isn't emotions or himself - he does not reveal anything about his personal life in the series aside form very specific instances, such as his story about his childhood for Kyon.

Haruki's two main issues are a desire not to grow up (and as such act childish, producing the effects one might expect in a child such as selfishness and a lack of accepting the consequences or responsibility for his own actions if he can in any way resist it), and playing hand in hand with that an utter terror at the idea of being a person who isn't important (in a way he's got an identity crisis, I suppose). As a result of both of these factors he has isolated himself from people (partially because they seemed like a waste of her time to being important and partially because he was afraid to try to get to know others beyond a superficial level because he hates opening up about himself) and basically dug her own hole so deep he didn't know how to get out of it until Kyon (in two different cases) basically gave her the balls to do it, because despite her gusto and bravado on the whole he's someone who finds himself falling on an ironic need for the approval of someone to validate her ideas.

From there, however, it does spiral downward all the way until you hit climactic points like the fourth novel as a whole because everyone who isn't Kyon frankly spoils his by humoring his own petty delusions. He main and most glaring flaw is, simply, entitlement born out of insecurity about the idea of not being special. So he's... a huge unabashed brat-hypocrite.

So, I've painted his vices and his virtues... but in the end what it must be remembered is that Haruhu Suzumiya is a work in progress. Even in the sparse months which have passed since he founded the Brigade, he grew as a person in the canon: he asks people if they have any objections to his plans now! (albeit he usually amends that they can "comment or suggest after we've finished") he has a strong worth ethic when it comes to school too. So, maybe he can grow, assuming that he becomes willing to these changes.

-And as a footnote, because I'm apping him with Haruki's Luceti memories, he has grown. He's gained much more sympathy for people and while most of his entitled nature remains superficially, he is at the core much more open to listening to other people and willing to admit to his own flaws. He's made a lot of grand steps forward when it comes to being a responsible and capable person. But um, the changes he has are a lot more complex and varied and such but most of them just boil down to hin getting a bit more open and used to making "friends" (something he never really made back home very well) and softening up his douche factor.

Powers: Haruki, like his canon counterpart, has the ability to bend reality to his whims as long as he believes something is possible and wishes for it to be so. There can be minor variations on either scale but these are the general rules. Usually, in RP, I play it mostly as an extreme form of luck working out for him, having only done a plot with some of the more intense manifestations (Closed Spaces, physically altering people or things) for player plots big (him attempting to destroy the world happened in Luceti) or small (making a store-bought chicken egg hatch because he was raising it as a baby for a health class). Unlike his canon counterpart Haruki is now aware that he has these powers due to the Malnosso report in Luceti, but he is no closer to controlling them on any practical level and thus tries not to give them a lot of thought.

Other Details: A big write up about where he was in Luceti is here. Also in Luceti he gained a several inches of height due to aging (see here) and a very distinct scar on his forehead he grows his bangs out to cover. While he is not keeping the Luceti wings, he is keeping the Luceti barcode on the back of his neck.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Amon (AU)
Series: The Legend of Korra
Canon Point: Post-ep.9 "Out of the Past"
History Link: http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Amon

AU/OC History:

This Amon formed no deception, he was really a nonbender that lost his family and his face to an extortionist firebender. Much of his personality stays the same despite the AU backstory, and yet it's still been tweaked. (See the personality section.)

Paralleling canon, Amon was connected to Yakone and Tarrlok, but in a different way. After losing his bending to Avatar Aang, Yakone faked his death with help from a firebender gang associate, and escaped prison. To compensate for his loss of bending, Yakone learned chiblocking and other nonbending fighting skills. Yakone conceived Tarrlok, and continued to raise him on the run when Tarrlok's mother died. Yakone still had his criminal connections, and went by a small village for his share of an extortion ring. It was there Yakone took Amon from the fire, started by one of the benders of the extortion ring. Yakone's only interest in grabbing Amon was to force a reluctant Tarrlok to use Amon as a bloodbending dummy. Yakone was also interested in seeing if a nonbender could be trained to resist bloodbending. So he started training Amon's body, making it strong by the frequent pressure of bloodbending exerted on it and by training it in chiblocking and other nonbender martial skills; he also taught the boy how the human body worked, so that he might figure out a way to manipulate his own body. Despite the situation, a child Amon and adolescent Tarrlok bonded; Tarrlok was a reluctant bloodbender, and Amon needed some form of family.

Eventually Tarrlok and Amon run away from Yakone. For a time it was just the adopted brothers then. They travelled around still, doing various odd jobs to survive, including work at a monastery once. Amon liked helping the healers there. At some point they part civilly—an adult Tarrlok wanted to stay in Republic City for his career, and a preteen Amon wished to travel more, exploring the world and continuing to train his body and mind. It was even harsher completely solo, but Amon found it worth it for the travel. In that time, he eventually found a willing teacher in a former Air Acolyte, who further trained him in chiblocking, martial arts and spirituality, the chakras. Amon began trying to reach the Spirit World, in a desperate effort to see his long-lost family. Eventually an adolescent Amon returned to Republic City. He met and befriended the older man who would be his future Lieutenant in the Equalist movement. Tarrlok had grown colder and more ruthless during his government career, and started using Amon to get closer to the early Lieutenant, whose experiments in electrical generators unsupported by lightningbenders threaten the current factory system's status quo. Meanwhile, Amon donned a different mask—the Blue Spirit, in honor of Fire Lord Zuko’s famous exploits in that same guise. As the Blue Spirit, Amon went around fighting the bender gangs. Tarrlok wasn't fooled by the disguise. Eventually Amon wondered if he was doing any good by himself as the Blue Spirit, and Tarrlok revealed he knew. Tarrlok soon after manipulated Amon into helping him arrest the Lieutenant. Horrified and guilty, Amon freed the Lieutenant, and together they evaded Tarrlok. Tarrlok pursued them, trying to bring Amon back home--even bloodbending him into submission. Amon, for the first time, was able to barely resist--just slightly move one limb against Tarrlok's control, but so small as to be useless and it completely missed Tarrlok's attention. Amon was not sure if that was entirely him; to the adolescent, it felt like an outside force tried to assist him. Amon was saved by the Lieutenant's intervention, and the two escape Tarrlok for good, running clear of Republic City. Amon began to think it was something from the Spirit World that helped him resist bloodbending, and so Amon increased his attempts to access the Spirit World. Eventually he succeeded and found the spirit who helped him with the intention to teach him energybending, or how to remove a person's bending. The spirit helped no further with resisting bloodbending, though Amon continued to train his body's muscles, bones and chi to resist bloodbending by themselves. Amon and Tarrlok never really faced each other again, though they became enemies. Amon truly started to form the Equalist movement with the Lieutenant.

Amon and the Lieutenant worked to develop the Equalist movement, training chiblockers and advancing technology. Allying themselves with industrialist Hiroshi Sato massively helped with technology and funding. The Equalist movement was strong but still pretty covert when Avatar Korra arrived, its presence only allowed to make a few waves. With her arrival ahead of schedule, Amon decided to accelerate his plans. His people stopped a bender gang war by capturing its leaders and major key players, and using them to publicly show that he could remove bending, permanently. Tarrlok started a task force against the Equalists, first raiding a chiblocking training camp. Though Amon still harbored some reluctance over fighting Tarrlok, he wouldn't back down. Amon accommodated Avatar Korra's challenge to a duel, just receiving it but not accepting it. He simply told her the basic ground rules, how he would stop her later, then released her, bending intact. Amon conducted an attack on the probending arena, a symbol of bending. Hiroshi Sato was ousted as his Equalist ally and driven underground. Tarrlok started a curfew against all nonbenders, and started to arrest nonbenders en masse on flimsy Equalist suspicions. Tarrlok and Avatar Korra clashed over this, driven to the point of a physical duel, and Tarrlok bloodbent her. To hide his bloodbending and the fact he fought the Avatar, Tarrlok kidnapped her and framed the Equalists. Amon knew where Tarrlok was hiding with the Avatar--in Yakone's old cabin, where he had locked first locked Tarrlok in a large metal box to learn bloodbending as a child, and then later Amon, to teach him the inferiority of a nonbender, absolutely helpless to escape such a box. That was the final straw that had caused Tarrlok to grab Amon and leave Yakone. And in that box, Amon had his first contact with the Spirit World. Amon, his Lieutenant and a team of Equalists go to the cabin. Though Tarrlok successfully bloodbent the Lieutenant and the Equalists, Amon was only marginally affected before powering through and catching Tarrlok by surprise, unused to anyone, especially his veritably adopted younger brother, resisting his bloodbending. But Amon had finally trained his body to successfully resist bloodbending, just as Yakone had wanted before. Amon removed Tarrlok's bending, and knocked him unconscious. Amon ordered the Lieutenant and the other Equalists to grab Avatar Korra while he put Tarrlok in their getaway van. The Lieutenant and the Equalists failed to hold the Avatar, and despite Amon's own attempt to pursue her, the Avatar escaped.

Personality:

Given the AU where Amon really is a nonbender who lost his family and his face to firebending, this Amon is more upfront about things than his canonical counterpart. As such, there is a certain honest streak to him that's absent in the other. He is very controlled in his actions and his emotions. This has less to do with canon's bonus motive of deception, and more to do with just the responsibility to his Cause as their leader. Not to mention that life continued to be harsh to him after his family's death, and thus such an emotional mask became an important survival tactic. Amon actively tries to make himself into more of an Idea than a man. Consciously, he believes it's important for the movement, and the movement is all that matters, he's just a cog in its great machine. But subconsciously, emotions have brought him more pain than joy, it should hurt less to be an unfeeling Idea. As such, a side-effect of this tight control is that his own feelings are typically unknown to others; his goals and methods are known, but not what he truly thinks of them. For all his belief and consideration of the inequality around him and his Cause, his family's death and Tarrlok's corruption will always be an underlying motive to all he does, though he only brings up his family in rallies to make a point (and to lessen the fear that they'll just be forgotten). Amon never brings up Tarrlok, except with the Lieutenant occasionally. Given his nonbender family's murder at the hands of a bender and his own abuse by one (no matter how reluctant Tarrlok was), Amon works very hard to avoid being at the mercy of a bender again, striving to be at his physical peak and exercise all his cunning to get whatever necessary edge. Amon is a Determinator with a capital 'D,' adding to his fearlessness when going against benders throwing fire and lighting at him and trying to control his very body.

Amon is an observant and calculating man. He can be reasoned with to a point and under certain circumstances, as his larger intention and goal is good, even if his methods can be too misguided or extreme. (But in his mind, sometimes 'extreme' works.) He does want to help, and has a deep sense of responsibility and loyalty. He will respond well to civil discussion. He did learn a form of energybending, so he does retain a certain heightened spirituality, in contrast to apparent canon. Amon is a study in contrasts when it comes to privacy and publicity--his movement needs him to speak, needs advertising to get the word out, needs to create an image for him, but he still hides his face behind a mask. Unlike canon where it really is all a constructed story and needs to be preserved, this Amon both takes advantage of his past and must adapt to it: he shares his true story because it really is at the root of his motivations and it is a commonality with all his followers, who are unsurprised at his story at a public rally. But he’ll never willingly take off his mask, the scars are really that bad and not something he wants to share. And other than that trauma, what does Amon really share? Barely anything really, there's no more word on what happened to him in between his family's murder and his current revolution (skipping Tarrlok and Yakone's involvement), and again, he speaks much on the movement, but very little on what he truly feels. Deep down, Amon is a private man.

Given his goals and his personal history, Amon is sensitive to the underdogs and power discrepancies, and probably would apply that same instinct and vigilante streak to help in other similar situations. And Amon does have a vigilante streak, and a revolutionary one too--given what he suffered and the culprit never caught or punished, the darker side of Republic City and Tarrlok and Yakone themsevles, Amon has issues with established authority in general. Though he has found that as a revolutionary leader he needs an air of his own authority, and part of the larger goal is to replace the corrupt authority with a fairer one.

Amon is a Well Intentioned Extremist that still retains lines he apparently won't cross unless absolutely necessary. In light of his world's history of genocide with Fire Lord Sozin slaughtering the air nomads to the point of near-extinction and Fire Lord Ozai's attempted massacre of the Earth Kingdom, Amon stands out for not following their lead. He really could simply try to kill all benders. But instead he ostensibly employs Avatar Aang's relatively nonviolent technique (or a variation of it) of removing one's bending. He has not killed or physically maimed anyone. If removing bending is a form of spiritual maiming, it has never been explicitly shown. And even if it were, Amon still has his own ruthless streak; he would deem it acceptable for equality, for bending truly is the major problem in his mind, something that must be removed, and he would still consider it better than outright killing. This nonviolence is both a point toward his dangerously genre savvy nature and his moral ambiguity. Depending on how he approaches his goal, Amon wants to convince the people, not turn them against him, and such violence would probably be a turn-off. But there's always the implication that this is a sign of Amon's more personal feelings, honor code and moral ambiguity--he himself sees death as a last resort and not necessary in this case. He does call bending an "impurity" and his bending removal "the solution," thus undoubtedly thinking bending as a curse/disease to people that must be treated, benders must be purified and made well again.

Powers:

chiblocking or striking the pressure points to temporarily paralyze or otherwise physically manipulate an enemy's body in another way (i.e. strike the right pressure points, block a person's bending or manipulation of the elements)

martial arts/hand-to-hand combat

can resist bloodbending*

tactician/strategist and orator

able to remove bending itself/energybending**

*My stance on that is that there are still bones and muscles to work against the manipulated blood. There are certain muscles that are particularly suited to resisting bloodbending when trained. There are ways to train to slow the heart rate so that blood flow is slowed, messing with a bloodbending grip.

** My stance that Amon is able to energybend is based on the Lion-Turtle's line: "In the era before the Avatar, we bent not the elements, but the energy within ourselves . To bend another's energy, your own spirit must be unbendable. Or you will be corrupted, and destroyed..." So the Lion Turtle suggests that not only is energybending older than the Avatar, but that it was more widespread practice, probably accessible to everyone. So Amon could learn. When he was younger and the point of desperation, he managed to enter the Spirit World to find his deceased family. He could not, but he met the Lion-Turtle, who thought him worthy of learning energybending. The Lion-Turtle is only interested in worthy students, not issues of human morality. Amon's training is longer as he is not the Avatar and doesn't have that power boost, but Amon manages to learn a different variation of energybending from the Lion-Turtle. Part of that is because of Amon's own differences, i.e. can't unlock the chakra connected to grief due to an inability to let go of his grief over his family's death. It is my theory that energybending involves the chakras, given that Aang could do it at a point when he had dealt with his chakras.

Other Details: I want Amon's character to still be similar with canon, but with the backstory given in ep. 3, and tweaks to his personality based on that backstory. Wanted to expand on Ep. 3 backstory to connect to Tarrlok and Yakone, but that can be revised.

Character Name: Signless (The Sufferer)
Series: MSPA: Homestuck
Canon Point: After being captured and bound in burning iron, but before his death and The Vast Expletive.
History Link: Link.

Personality: While we never see Signless as an active character in the story, most of his personality can be gleaned from his life's story as it was narrated and through the word of the author himself, who said that besides the anger, he shares many key traits with his 'decedent', Karkat.

Like Karkat, his blood is a mutant, cherry red color that doesn't exist on the hemospectrum, which alone was reason enough to be killed on Alternia. It means that he literally didn't have a right to exist, but unlike Karkat, he doesn't hate it. He's proud enough of who he is that he wears it on his clothes, but only a little. Drawing too much attention to himself would be a really bad idea for obvious reasons.

The thing is with Signless, is that he has visions of an Alternia that is peaceful, where trolls help and care for each other rather than cause fear and pain. What he doesn't realize is that they are actually memories seeping through from a previous life that had been erased and rewritten. There are a lot of things in his visions that he doesn't understand, but all he knows is that the world they're living in is so very wrong, and he believes with all his heart that it can be set right.

The most notable thing about Signless is that he is very clearly meant to be a parallel of Jesus, his story following a very similar path. He is full of love for his people, regardless of class or creed. He cares to the point of heresy, though unlike Karkat who tries to hide that part of himself, he fully embraces it, and is very open about it. Where this would be considered a great sign of weakness to most trolls, for him it was his greatest strength.

While he had a wide following, there were very few he kept close to him. "The Dolorosa", who had taken on the unprecedented task of trying to raise the young mutant herself rather than leave it to die. "The Psiionic" is a troll that was so moved by Signless' words that they gave him the strength to escape slavery to follow him. Then there was his "Disciple", who recorded his words faithfully and, over time, he'd opened his heart to her. It's been said that their love transcended every concept the troll's had about love.

Not to say that he's gentle and perfect all the time. He's still a troll and still fallible, subject to the array of negative emotions all trolls have to deal with. He can get upset and frustrated just like everyone else. Hell, even Jesus was known to literally flip tables when he got angry. Signless just has this way of letting it go so it doesn't linger and turn to a poison. And that is exactly what he was trying to teach others about. Society needed to change, and the only way that would happen is if someone made the effort to change it.

Signless is likely decently educated, since he was raised and protected by a jade blood for all his childhood. He's a very well spoken, charismatic troll, evidenced by the sheer amount of followers he had. And whether he had wanted it or not, he'd started a revolution that reached across galaxies before it was eventually snuffed out.

He knew full well that he wouldn't survive doing what he was doing, but he was too determined and bullheaded to stop and save himself. He alone wouldn't be able to undo centuries of oppression, but if he could spread his beliefs to enough people than over time things might change.

Judging by the fact that he had been very careful to keep hidden, preaching only to those who seemed receptive off the message, it's more than likely that an all out sectarian war was not even remotely what he was going for. With how Karkat blamed himself for everything that had gone wrong, Signless would be the same way. He carries the suffering of his entire race on his shoulders, so inciting a war -even unintentionally- is something he would never be able to forgive himself for. And like Karkat, he would consider himself a failure of a leader for not being able to control his followers.

Which is likely why, in the final hours of his life, after being beaten and tortured, his boundless love turned to a righteous fury that burned hotter than the irons he was bound with. He spoke of another like him who would come and continue what he started. Despite everything that happened, to him and to his teachings, he never recanted, never gave up. The rage grew and became known as The Vast Expletive, his final sermon, that rang out through the galaxy. Encoded within it was the truth of his teachings, waiting to reveal itself to those would take up it's burden.

SAMPLES test drive meme post

Any Concerns: I was wondering what state he would be in when he arrives, since he's coming from mid torture. I didn't see it anywhere though I often miss things derp. Mainly I was wondering, regardless of how mangled up he is, if the irons could still be on his wrists. I figure since they were heated they probably fuse shut. I just thought it could make interesting CR trying to find someone who can get them off.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Martin Septim
Series: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Canon Point: Post Main Quest (Light the Dragonfires)
History Link: Here. In-depth here.

AU/OC History: N/A

Game Import: N/A

Personality: Martin wasn't born nor lived (long) as an emperor's son, but as an emperor's bastard, unaware of his parentage. His lowborn background explains why despite discovering he's Uriel Septim VII's last son, he doesn't act like a pompous noble; on the contrary, Martin is very humble, asking others to forgo absurd formalities and not to call him lord or sire.

His selflessness and caring for others are legendary. Martin constantly endangers his own life for the benefit of others, going as far as sacrificing himself for the good of Tamriel. As a priest, he was a healer of both body and mind, using his magic to cure wounds and diseases, and listening with empathy and without judgment to the problems of others.

It wasn't always so, however. During his youth, Martin craved power and knowledge, thus he joined the Mages Guild of Cyrodiil. Then when it proved too restrictive, he joined the Cult of Sanguine, the daedric prince of debauchery. Not until some of his friends got in over their heads and died does Martin flee, turned away from daedric worship by a priest of Akatosh. To atone for his transgressions against the divines, Martin becomes a priest himself.

But it wasn't a completely positive change. Those years of priesthood transformed Martin into a lonely, reserved individual. To his guards he confesses that he needs the company of friends, as he's just a man. To the player, he confesses that being a Septim is lonelier than he imagined, that his father probably felt the same way, spending most of his last months inside a fortress, seeking conversation.

A great irony that years after his quest for power and knowledge ended in near ruin, he acquires the ultimate source of the first and the facilitation for a good source of the second: Emperor of Tamriel, the last dragonborn, Martin Septim, son of Uriel Septim VII. Yet its the renouncement of his youthful ambitions that signal that, despite the severity of responsibility such a position brings, Martin is emperor material.

Innate congeniality and strength, of magic and character, combined with training of statecraft and physical prowess, turn the modest priest into a stalwart emperor. Plain Martin becomes Martin Septim, 22nd Emperor of Tamriel, performing his duty brilliantly. Through his courage and intelligence the Battle of Bruma is won, and Mehrunes Dagon is defeated, forever shutting the gates of Oblivion.

Powers:
  • Mage: As a former member of the Mages Guild, an ex-cultist of Sanguine, then a priest of Akatosh at the temple in Kvatch, Martin is skilled in destruction magic, conjuration magic, and restorative magic.

  • Dragonborn: A 'dragonborn' is a mortal born with the soul of a dragon, or what the dragons would call "Dovah Sos" (dragonblood). As a Septim, Martin carries the blood of Tiber Septim, the dragonborn founder of the Septim Dynasty and the Third Empire, and thus is dragonborn himself.

Martin is able to innately learn dragon language, and absorb the souls (and thus their knowledge) of slayed dragons*.

The Book of the Dragonborn explains the concept in detail.

    * If following Skyrim logic. Bethesda stated that Skyrim's Dragonborn is different than the Dragonborn Emperors or the Nerevarine of Morrowind. However, considering Martin became the Avatar of Akatosh, it's safe to assume he'd be able to understand dragon language, thus learn and use shouts.

  • Dragon Transformation: Martin will retain the ability to turn into a dragon from his previous possession by Akatosh, the Dragon of Time.

However, this dragon will be a Skyrim-sized dragon, not wreathed in flames and not as massive (taller than the Temple of One) as the Avatar.

His hair and skin reek of brimstone and smoke, though his dusty-blue, frayed cassock smells, as always, of cotton and lavender.

Which is wrong.

Because Martin Septim hadn't worn a cassock as the divine flames of Akatosh consumed his mortal body, dragon-sharp teeth tearing into Mehrunes Dagon's throat. No, he'd worn the emperor's robes to battle the daedric prince of destruction, and those too, like his soul and body, were spent.

"This is not Aetherius," he says, eyes narrowed, voice a hiss. A self-righteous suicide typically didn't deserve an afterlife, but he'd known with certainty that sacrificing his life to close shut the gates of Oblivion, forever, wouldn't damn him.

Not that Martin would've rejected eternal damnation if it meant the salvation of Tamriel, the Empire and, most importantly, his citizens. An eternity in torment and unrest is a small price to pay if it meant his citizens would live in a world fit for mortals, not to the whims of the depraved daedra.

"I...wanted to meet my father." Martin can't hide the wistfulness leaking into his words, fists clenched onto the side of his robe, helplessness tightening, churning in the center of his chest. Uriel Septim VII, the 22nd Emperor of Tamriel, a figure whose political skill, military prowess and assiduity brought Tamriel closer to unity than it'd been since the beginnings of the First Era, was his father.

How many years Martin cursed his (supposed) lowborn status—even his name screamed peasant, a name fit for the farmer's son he'd grown to believe he was—then to find out he was a Septim, the last Septim.

Perhaps if he'd known his parentage sooner, he would've never hungered for knowledge and power, driven to seek it at any cost, even the lives of others. What a fool he'd been, worshiping the daedric prince of debauchery in exchange for forbidden knowledge and power.

My transgressions against the Divines are too great, even after my sacrifice. Perhaps that is why I didn't make it into Aetherius.

Martin smiles sadly. If this was his afterlife, so be it. Tamriel wasn't his any longer, but that didn't mean he couldn't help those who needed him here.

AU/OC History:

Game Import:

Personality: From a first glance, you would think that Irisviel is a well-round, high-class society woman. In actuality, she is actually a homunculus created to be the container of the Holy Grail. Moreover, she is sentient because the Einzbern wanted a vessel that would react to any situation presented to them and would be able to at least protect themselves , so that doesn't mean she's merely an emotionless doll.

Due to being cooped up in the castle for so long, she is rather naive and optimistic. However, she was taught by Kiritsugu on the outside world, so she isn't completely clueless on how the world works, though she will still be a little curious to unfamiliar things that catch her eye, and is willing to learn on what makes it tick, though she'll be somewhat cautious if it puts her in danger. On top of that, she also has a penchant for being quite mischevious, so some light teasing, joking around, and harmless little pranks are not beneath her.

Despite all her childishness, she is still rather mature, and tries to be reserved in order to help out as much as she can. Granted, she may or may not understand whatever problems they're going through, but she'll at least reach out and try to mediate and alleviate as much as possible. If you're someone she cares about deeply? She'll do it even more so, since she cherishes the people she loves, and is willing to stay by their sides no matter what, even if it means that she might end up dying. Even if she's stuck being an observor, that won't stop her from doing whatever she can to protect them (i.e. When she teamed up with Hisau Maiya, Kiritsugu's assistant, in order to stop Kirei Kotomine from reaching him).

Adding to that, since Irisviel is the first and only Einzbern homunculi to experience motherhood (even if she got her daughter through artificial means), she is rather quite motherly and amiable with children, as she'll be reminded of her daughter Ilyasviel von Einzbern, so she'll be willing to watch over and defend at whatever the cost.

All in all, Irisviel cherishes life. Not once has she ever complained about her life, nor has she ever wanted to wish harm on someone, as she truly enjoys each and every little thing. Although she's sentient homunculus, she was able to move beyond the usual cold and aloof personality that previous Einzbern homunculi have had, and has managed to become more human in terms of reactions and emotions to anything. Even if she doesn't understand some things in life, she's willing to protect all that she can with her love and determination, no matter what.

Powers: -Healing Magecraft: Since Einzbern homunculi aren't really made for combat, they are instead equipped with Magic Circuits that are more potent and powerful then a normal Magus's, and it allows Irisviel to effectively use her healing spells without any mistakes.

-Alchemy: Hidden in her sleeves are long, thin wires that, when imbued with Irisviel's mana, coil into an animalistic shape that she chooses (usually an eagle), which then attacks the enemy and even wraps around them in order to stop them.

Other Details: Irisviel contains a scabbard called “Avalon” in her body, which allows her to regenerate any damage she has taken, though it won’t work unless its owner is close by, which is Saber.

SAMPLES

It had been quite some time after Irisviel's arrival to the new space station. It was a little difficult to take in, much less figure out how all the technology worked and how to get around the place, but sooner or later, she eventually managed...somewhat, at least.

Though she didn't mind teleporting around, it wasn't exactly the same as driving around with a car. She missed the feeling of being at the steering wheel, and controlling whichever way she wanted to go. Not only that, but she missed seeing the sights go by as she drove through wherever her destination was. It was fun to see them go past her in a blur-like motion whilst feeling the freedom of being able to go anywhere she wanted. Here, in space? Getting from one place to another in a blink of an eye was like a missed moment in life that passed by too quickly. There were also the shuttles, which were about the closest thing she could get from having that feeling, but it really wasn't enough.

At least, not until someone offered her to build a special present for her. Granted, she'd have to wait a while until it was finished, but she didn't mind. As long as she can grasp her 'freedom' once more, it was worth it.

After months have passed by, it was finally time to unveil the vehicle. With one swift motion, the cover was taken away, revealing underneath it, a sleek and shiny black hovercraft. Amazement overcame Irisviel for a few minutes, taking in every bit of detail of the tailor-made vehicle that was standing right before her. At long last, she was able to drive once again.

With a nod of thanks, she hopped inside the hovercraft and slammed on the gas pedal, taking off into the vast beauty that was space.

God help anyone who survives after managing to cross paths with her.
