Applications

Application form:
APPLICATIONS ARE ALWAYS OPEN.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Check the taken characters and the reserve page to ensure that your character isn't already taken.

We do accept nearly every type of character, including canon, minor, AU, game imports, OCs, fandom OCs, and so forth. There is one canon and one AU version of each character allowed. Especially minor characters may be evaluated as fandom OCs, but are appable under that distinction. Please remove the sections of the application that do not pertain to your character.

You can play up to five characters at one time. Two of those characters can be from the same canon. You may bring in two characters per calendar month, discounting rejections. If you wish to apply for a sixth character overall or a third canonmate, contact us individually.

App challenge policy is as follows: we will wait the length of the reserve for the original reserver to apply, and judge their application first, independently and not comparatively. Only if they are rejected will the challenger be assessed. Without a reserve, apps will be assessed in the order they are received-- again not against each other, but each one at a time.

We would prefer if you do not delete your comments upon rejection or acceptance. Simply ask us and we will screen the entire thread on request for privacy, no explanation necessary.

Applications are checked daily, and assigned to a mod who is best able to assess the application, either because of available time or because they know the fandom best. When necessary, the mods will discuss your application before coming to a decision. Please be patient and allow us time to check and discuss. Some apps will be approved almost immediately, while others may take a little longer. It's not because we don't care, but because we may be having trouble finding someone familiar with your canon, or simply that we're unexpectedly busy.

If you have any questions about the application process, feel free to contact the moderators directly or ask in the FAQ for clarification.

Preferred Contact Methods: If you would prefer these are kept private, let us know in your application and we will immediately screen your initial comment.
Other Characters:

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Include (AU) if applicable.
Series:
Canon Point: If you are applying for the OU version of your character, please give a quick explanation of what point in canon your character will be coming from.
History Link: Please link to a canon source even if your character is an AU! Include a written history only if there isn’t a convenient wiki or other site that gives a good explanation of the canon.

AU/OC History: If you are applying for an AU version of the character, or an original character, please give a comprehensive description of what your AU or original universe are about and (in the case of an AU) what the differences are between the canon history and your AU. You should include something about what has happened recently before the character comes to the Lost Realm.

Game Import: If your character is being imported from another game, please identify the game and indicate what changes your character will display as a result of development in the game. It’s suggested that you include an overview of major events that have happened to them, and significant CR that they’ve made, but this doesn’t need to be terribly long.

Personality: We have no word count requirement on this, but it should be the bulk of your application.

Powers: This is mandatory for all characters, but does not need to be extensive. A list or bullet point would be fine.

Other Details: Anything else you think we should know.

SAMPLES
Please give at least one sample of the character you’re playing. These can be musebox or game threads, or can be written fresh for this application. If you are doing a game import, you should include a recent thread from the game. Your application samples should give a representative example of how you’ll be playing the character in this game. We prefer thread links, but will not penalize anyone for providing more standard written samples instead; if we feel we need more material to judge from, we'll ask.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Justin Law
Series: Soul Eater (manga)
Canon Point: The "Brew" Tempest arc
History Link: Link.

AU/OC History: N/A

Game Import: N/A

Personality:
Justin, at first impression, is a happy, polite, and down-to-earth individual. His dramatic dedication to God is unwavering, and his passion seems completely genuine. The only thing that may throw someone off about him is the fact that by "God", he's usually speaking about a Death God. Given that "God" has a different meaning in the Soul Eater canon, worshiping Death is not seen as morbid behavior. In fact, Justin's zealousness is still seen as virtuous. To this extent, he is of such faith, it was said by a powerful meister by the name of Dr. Stein, who is considered to be an expert on madness, that men of powerful faith like Justin were less likely to be infected by the insanity wavelength released by the Kishin, the Demon God. He has likely had this level of dedication for the years he trained at the Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA). When it comes to issues other than his faith, Justin is a very reserved individual. He's indifferent on subjects that would otherwise seem like cause for concern, and tends to keep people at a distance. He's never seen as truly "close" to anyone, but rather the one who does things on his own, and succeeds, proving to himself and others he doesn't actually need anyone.

Music is very important to Justin, to the point where he won't take out his earbuds, regardless of when people are trying to talk to him. His obsession with his music is another example of his tendency towards apathy. He doesn't care enough to listen to someone actually speaking, choosing instead to just read their lips. Because of this, he's learned to read lips well enough that he doesn't need to actually hear an individual speak. That is, provided the person who's speaking to him with speaks visibly (aka isn't wearing a mask, or facing away), but even if they aren't, he doesn't bother to inform them that he can't hear them, instead pretending that he can, and just acting agreeably. To this extent, some might even consider him a good listener, if they don't realize he can't actually hear them (cough cough Tezca). On top of that, it's possible he's somewhat deaf, considering that he typically listens to his music so loud, other people at least a few feet away can hear it. Justin will also be very loud in the occasion he needs to yell, once again, probably due to the earphones.

After the battle for the Brew, Justin is sent to search for the Kishin, and subsequently falls under the influence of the Clown, a creature who is said to be "madness incarnate" and has the ability to infect even the most resistant of characters with insanity. Justin resisted this change, hence the extended absence, but eventually succumbs. The same situation happens early in the manga to Maka and Soul, but because Soul is able to snap Maka out of the madness, she survives the encounter with her sanity. Justin has always worked on his own, and because of this, he lost himself to the madness. His loyalty and dedication to Death has been replaced, and instead has switched to being loyal to the Kishin. Internally, it's implied he feels guilt for his actions under the Clowns control, but externally he shows no regret. At one point, he even killed a man named B.J., and when he returns to Death City to launch an assassination attempt on Maka as well, he then smiles when his true intentions have been found out by Marie and Stein.

Most people, when they lose themselves to the Kishin's madness, begin to exhibit erratic, and somewhat uncontrollable behavior. Justin seems to have managed to retain his calm sense of impassiveness for much longer than most, while the madness continued to take over his soul. He is therefore able to convince a good many people that he is perfectly normal, aside from an notable sadistic side he has gained. For example, he mocks the idea of repenting, and is willing takes off his earphones… but only in order to listen to Gopher as he brutally beats up Death the Kid.

Justin can be quite sarcastic. Before his betrayal, this part of him is mostly brought out when he encounters Giriko, who like himself, is also an autonomous weapon. This, and the fact that their souls wavelengths are on par with each other, has caused a rivalry between the two. And so, Justin taunts him whenever possible. Despite thinking lowly of him as a person, he recognizes Giriko as a powerful weapon. Thus when Baby Yaga's castle fell, Justin (joined by the Clown) sought out Giriko to invite him to join Noah's team, on the side of the Kishin. Giriko accepted, but apparently even being on the same side couldn't prevent the two from fighting.

Eventually he completely loses himself, his resistence to the insanity completely shattered when Tezca Tlipoca tries to save him. He fails to understand why someone on an opposing faction of him cares about him and eventually kills Tezca, his last chance for redemption.

Powers: : In the Soul Eater canon, "weapons" are people with the genetics to be able to transform into a physical weapon. Justin is one of these people, his weapon form being that of a guillotine. Typically, weapons require meisters in order to harness their full potential. Once a meister and weapon have reaped one hundred souls, the weapon becomes a "Death Scythe" which is more a rank than an actual scythe. This is the highest rank a weapon can become, according to the DWMA, and once reaching that rank, said Death Scythe has a certain continent placed under their jurisdiction; in Justin's case, he was one of two Death Scythes in charge of Europe. Justin achieved this rank on his own, most likely due to the impracticality of his complete weapon form, and is known as an "autonomous weapon," meaning he can use his weapon abilities to their best without the help of a meister. Another noted ability is that he can increase his soul wavelength by praying.

As a result, he finds it more convenient to only transform partially, with a blade that stick out of his forearm. As such, most of his attacks are ranged in close combat. For example, "Law Abiding Silver Gun", "Saint Cross Knife", and "Carcan Claw" are a few of Justin's attacks, while he is still sane.

Once Justin starts losing his sanity and joins the side of the Kishin, he picks up a few new skills from the Clown, where he will form a (functional but wrong) fusion with the Clown, akin to the Soul Resonance that Meisters and Weapons make, called "madness fusion." This increases his defense, attack, as well as spread a wave of madness into the surrounding area. However, it severely limits his mobility, since the lower half of a guillotine has replaced his entire torso and legs, and can only be used with the Clown around. The further Justin sinks into madness, the more deformed his body, growing multiple arms and bending over backwards to the point of where it would seem like his spine should be broken. Insanity is a hell of a drug.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Giriko
Series: Soul Eater
Canon Point: Shortly after Arachne dies and he winds up working for Noah
History Link: Here's a wiki page

Personality:

Giriko is rude, crude, loud, annoying, and very, very angry.

He definitely enjoys his creature comforts - he's seen drinking several times, and definitely enjoys his women, being quite misogynistic and crude when it comes to his flirtation. All he seems to really care about is his own pleasure and whether a girl is pretty (and old enough), and he certainly doesn't have interest in building connections with people.

In fact, I feel I'd be quite justified in saying that Giriko is a flat-out sociopath, except for the fact that he is quite passionate in many ways. He seems to have no conscience whatsoever. It's canon that he's extended his life for 800 years by possessing the bodies of his children - likely women he's knocked up, perhaps prostitutes in his village, or women he's had flings with an then kept tabs on in the future. Anyone who would do something like that is definitely an asshole.

But he's far from being either cold, or logical, which are classic symptoms of sociopathy. By contrast, he's entirely driven by emotion. He is extremely impulsive, and does whatever the fuck he pleases, at the moment he wants to do it. He seems to be driven almost entirely by selfishness and rage, enjoying fighting as much as fucking, and getting antsy if he has to sit around too much. He's definitely not the brightest of Arachne's followers, and is played for laughs a lot of the time in the manga. He seems stupid, to the point where he doesn't recognize people's faces, even if he's actually fought them in the past, like, couple of months. Though on the other hand, I don't see how he can really be completely unintelligent - there is the fact that he basically invented the science of golem-making, which I suspect involves some technical know-how and engineering, as well as magic. I think he just doesn't pay attention, compared to actually being dumb.

Yet, there's more to Giriko than living in the moment, pleasing himself however he can. One would think that such a person would not have the loyalty necessary to hide himself for 800 years, waiting for Arachne to return. It's clear that whatever she is to him (mother, perhaps, or goddess), she has won his undying devotion. It's my belief that she is the only woman that Giriko has ever 'loved' - in quotes because I doubt that he even knows the meaning of the word. If he was the first Demon Weapon, as I believe, then he would be the only success out of many failures, petted and praised and raised to be a killing machine for her to control completely. Much as Chrona was to Medusa. Whatever manipulation she used on him, it worked. He may have failed her in the end, but he never betrayed her.

Powers: Giriko is a Demon Weapon, so he has the ability to transform into a chainsaw. He's able to transform parts of his body into chainsaws as well, so for example he can put chains on his feet or around his body to protect himself and turn his limbs into weapons without completely transforming into something with limited mobility. His chains are completely indestructible, so far as I've been able to determine. There doesn't seem to be anything that can actually damage a Demon Weapon, even other Demon Weapons, but human flesh is vulnerable.

He can also create golems with limited autonomy. Basically they're stone robots, and they are able to wield him when he's transformed, and follow simple commands. He can seemingly create golems almost instantly, as long as he has something to make them out of, such as snow. With more time and effort, he can create more permanent golems, such as the one he replaced his own body with. Golem-making is done through a kind of alchemy or magic, and seems to require the gloves he wears, somehow.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Fionna (AU)
Series: Adventure Time
History Link: "Fionna and Cake" Episode Wiki Page, Fionna's page, Finn's page (for reference)

AU/OC History:
This is based on a canon AU episode of Adventure Time in which every character was of the opposite gender, but disregards the reasoning behind it (that being the whole 'it was Ice King's fanfic' thing). This means that every character would act and think differently. For example, in Still the Ice Queen froze Fionna and Cake to keep them from foiling her newest plan to marry Prince Gumball instead of to force them to be her friends. This means that Fionna actually has something at stake and has to cure the spell before time runs out rather than Finn suffering wacky hijinks caused by the Ice King.

She's less hot-headed than Finn, so most of the time she thinks before jumping into a fight, but there are some exceptions (see Personality). Another reason she has to rely on strategy is that the Ice Queen is shown to be far more competant than the Ice King and that brute force isn't always the solution with her. The only adventures that would turn out almost exactly the same would be the major ones, such as the fights against The Lich in Mortal Folly and Mortal Recoil. Another difference between Fionna and Finn is that she's more in touch with her emotional side. Her crush on Prince Gumball is a little more obvious and she's more open to talking about her feelings with Cake. She's also been confirmed to be a little older than Finn, meaning she's a little more mature than him. Her maturity means that she can't exactly see the world in black and white like he can.

Before arriving in Darstone, Fionna had her feelings manipulated by Ice Queen. She had disguised herself as Prince Gumball in order to throw Fionna for a loop with a sudden courtship. She even tricked her into using a trap sword that would imprison her hands on command. It was effective, but she was ultimately defeated as usual. Fionna even decided that she didn't necessarily need a boyfriend, though she still has a crush on Gumball.

Personality:
Fionna is probably the most adventurous and fun-seeking person you could ever meet. No matter what she's doing, be it saving Prince Gumball or simply helping a giant snail find a girlfriend, she does it all because she's a heroine. It's what she does. Her strong sense of responsibility and devotion to justice seems to stem from the fact that she was abandoned as a baby and raised by cats. Even now, whenever a parental figure seemingly abandons their child she always becomes enraged. That's why she was originally so adament about Marshall Lee making up with his mother. It also seems to make her almost physically incapable of any evil or unjust actions.

Despite loving adventure, Fionna never purposefully throws herself in danger. The only reason she would ever charge ahead without thinking was if one of her closest friends was in danger, most likely Cake, Prince Gumball or Marshall Lee. Most of the time she tries to think of a strategic way to take down her enemy, particularly if they've proven to be hard to defeat. She can, however, be very stubborn and unwilling to let go of a fight once one's been started. She can get overly angry and emotional at times, but tries to keep herself in check and always apologizes when things get out of hand.

She may be courageous, but Fionna also has fears and insecurities. She has a strong fear of oceans, despite the fact that she can easily come into contact with any other body of water. She also fears the return of The Lich, making her the only enemy she's truly afraid of. She isn't very open with her more private emotions with anyone besides Cake. She sometimes fears that people would consider her "too young" or "just a girl" despite constantly proving them wrong with her many escapades. She also has insecurities concerning her tomboyish nature when it comes to Prince Gumball. She worries that he'll only ever see her as one of the guys. The one time he really seemed to be romantically interested in her turned out to be a trap, but it did help her come to terms with the fact that she had never needed a boyfriend to be happy and didn't need one just yet.

Another thing that adds to her doubts and insecurities is the fact that she may very well be the last human in the Land of Ooo. Literally every single person she's ever met has either been an animal or a humanoid creature, but she's never met any actual humans. Being reminded that she's the last of her kind always makes her morose, but she tries to hide all of her negative thoughts and feelings so she doesn't worry Cake. Really, that's what's most important to her. She doesn't want her friends to worry about her.

Powers:

Physical:
  • Exceptional combat skills in various fight styles (hand-to-hand, magic, swordsmanship, etc.)

  • Exceptional agility and strength

  • Able to make fire with her bare hands

  • Extremely high pain tolerance

Mental:
  • Able to fight off psychic abilities

  • Able to focus for long periods of time

  • Reading, Writing and 'Rithmatic

Miscellanious:
  • Able to construct simple machines

  • Is ambidextrous

  • Can auto-tune her voice on command

Crystal Sword:
  • Retractable into plain crystal form

  • Can encase the wielder's hands in ice at the Ice Queen's command (except she's not here and this is still an effective weapon so hahaIQyoufailed)

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: John Egbert
Series: Homestuck
Canon Point: Act 6 intermission 2, after he wakes up from being in that dream bubble with Meenah and Roxy
History Link: Link.
Personality: (as a note, I apped John into another game a few months ago. I'm not importing him from the game, but I'm using most of the personality section from that app.)
John is the biggest, dorkiest prankster in the entirety of Homestuck. He loves pulling pranks, even simple stuff like balancing a bucket over a doorframe so it will spill on someone's head. He does a lot of stuff for shits and giggles, because that's the kind of person he is: he loves a good laugh every now and then.

But as much as he loves to prank people, John keeps his jokes simple and relatively tasteful. He doesn't do anything that could seriously hurt someone (at least not on purpose), because as far as he's concerned there's no fun in hurting someone. It's only a good joke if everyone can laugh about it later. This is because John is a generally agreeable person. He is just so positive about anything and everything, even if everyone else is stuck in a pit of despair. John would rather look on the bright side of life than worry about things he can't change. This positive attitude is absolutely infectious, and often John can cheer up his friends just by talking with them. He's the go-to guy for a morale boost.

While it can be a good thing, being nice also causes problems for John. Since he would rather get along with people than fight, he ends up being a pretty passive person, often listening to what other people say to do instead of making the choices for himself. He also has a habit of listening to advice from untrustworthy sources, which has gotten him killed before (he got better) and has made his life more difficult. And while he does know that just blindly following directions other people give him is a bad idea, he still ends up doing it all the time.

The real reason for his habit of listening to bad sources of information is that he doesn't think of the consequences for his actions. He doesn't stop to think that oh, maybe these people don't have his best intentions in mind. He just thinks they know more than him, so he happily goes along with what they tell him to do. This is also true for just about everything he does. He doesn't even evaluate the potential danger in the decisions he makes. He just plows on ahead with whatever plan he has (or whatever plan someone else thought up and got him roped into doing), figuring that he'll deal with any problems when he comes across them.

That said, John does have a bit of a mean streak in him. When he is especially annoyed or pissed off, he can get really demanding and short with people. He's also very pig-headed and has suffered from foot-in-mouth syndrome more than once. Basically, he's a normal teenager who's self-centered and focused on himself. He doesn't usually mean to hurt people's feelings, but at times he can, just because he's not thinking of how other people feel. Even when he's not cranky, he can say the wrong things at times simply because he doesn't realize what he's saying can be hurtful.

Speaking of which, John has this bad habit of doing things that aren't always helpful. This isn't intentional by any means; he does everything with the best of intentions in mind and no malice hidden in his actions. He honestly believes that what he does is right, and it's not until everything goes to Hell that he realizes that hey, maybe this wasn't the best thing to do. However, when he does mess up, John is always apologetic and tries to make things better. It makes him seem naïve at worst, and because of that it's hard to stay mad at him.

It helps that John truly cares for his friends. He loves them like they're his family, and he puts their wellbeing over even his own. He would gladly give up everything he has if only to keep his friends alive and well. Trying to harm them in any way is a quick way to get on John's incredibly short shit list. He also tries his best to make his friends feel better whenever they're not quite themselves, because hey, that's what friends do.

He isn't only nice to his friends, either. He is a generally agreeable person, and he at least tries to be nice off the bat. He doesn't take shit from anyone he doesn't know well, but as long as a person isn't actively trying to be a jerk John will try to be friendly. He's a horrible judge of character, though, so unless someone is doing something really terrible in front of him he'll probably think that person is alright. And hell, even if a person has done bad things, John will probably forgive them. He doesn't hold onto hatred for very long.

This is because, once he gets to know a person, John isn't one to judge. He accepts everyone as they are, even if they're not exactly the best people. He may get angry at some of the things they do, but ultimately he doesn't try to change them in any way. He tries to focus on the good parts of a person, rather than worry about the bad. This willingness to accept people for who they are also goes a long way towards making new friends. When someone hates him, he just responds back with cheerfulness and smiles, which are effective tools at wearing down the cold exterior of a jaded individual. This is how John makes several of his friends over the course of Homestuck: through love and forgiveness.
maplepancakes: ([homestuck] REALLY?)

John Egbert (OU) | Homestuck | Reserved (part 2)

[personal profile] maplepancakes 2012-09-19 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)

John's tendency to be kind, cheerful, and forgiving is what makes him a good leader. He's not the brightest kid in Homestuck, and he's far from the best strategist. He lacks most of the qualities someone would expect in a leader, and he's more likely to listen to someone else's orders than give his own. Still, everyone looks to him when they need guidance, and that's because he is very good at moral support. When the chips are down, John is the one who can rally the troops and make everyone believe they can succeed. What's more, John honestly cares about everyone, and he will make sure they come out of hairy situations alive. This is why the other kids consider him the leader: he is who they look to in order to assure themselves that everything is going to be ok.

It's also worth noting that, while John isn't the smartest, he's easily the most creative of the kids playing Sburb. He does need a bit of prompting to get started, but once he gets going, he can make the most beautiful things. This is the kid who combined an iron and a hammer to make the WRINKELFUCKER and actually used it as a viable weapon. Later on he has to get to the center of a planet, and all he has to use are hammers and his wind powers. So what does he do? He creates a freaking huge tornado and drills to the center of the planet. His problem-solving might not be the most effective all the time, but it certainly is creative.

John is also starting to grow up some. At this point, a year has passed (for him) since the start of Homestuck, and he's finally realized that hey, this is some heavy stuff! He knows the dangers he and his friends are going to face in two more years, and he is eager to finish his quests and get stronger. The impending fights once they reach the next game session have put a sense of determination into him, and he has started to try to overlook things like dating and drama to focus on more important things. Of course, he still ends up dragged into the very things he's trying to avoid, but the point is that he's trying to be a responsible person.

All in all, John is just a caring kid who wants to do right by his friends. He does his best to keep his spirits up, and he is good at making friends and cheering them up. He may be a complete dork who loves to joke around, but ultimately he does it because he's happy and healthy and wants his friends to be happy too.

Powers: As the Heir of Breath, he has control over the aspect of Breath. So far in-canon this has been a general control of wind, and he's been shown floating cars around and making tornadoes. I'm not sure what the Heir part of his title does, as it hasn't been addressed in canon, but it does have some unknown effect on how his powers work.
John has also reached God-Tier, which gives him a few other goodies. He has complete control over his aspect, he can fly, and he can heal much faster than a normal human can. Along with that, he has Super Shiny No-Death Powers. Unless his death is heroic or just in nature, he comes right back to life within a few minutes.
Also, other God Tiers have been shown with a few other powers, and it is reasonable to assume John has these powers too. Apparently God-Tier characters can change their clothes at will (Aranea did that once) and can communicate with anyone (Gift of Gab).

Other Details: Hussie seems to be going more in-depth into what each player's powers do, and I'm sure John's will be addressed at some point. When that happens, I'll edit the powers section to include that information.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Nicholas Angel
Series: Hot Fuzz
Canon Point: Just prior to the sea mine exploding at the end of the film
History Link: Prior to the film.
The plot of the film.

Personality:
You know that guy? No, not, not that guy. We're talking the kind of guy who is practically fascist in his belief in the rightness of the law, and is positively anal retentive about proper procedure. This is a fairly accurate description of Nicholas Angel's attitude towards being a police officer, and also life in general.

From an early age, Nicholas was quite serious. Where most small children who admired a police officer relative would simply play at being a cop, he did not. Instead, his response to receiving a police pedal car from his Uncle Derek was to instead ride around in it, attempting to arrest older children for crimes such as littering and jaywalking. Apparently he meant this in earnest, as he would get beat up for doing this, though it did not dissuade him. Neither did the discovery that his uncle was actually a drug dealer, selling to students, turn him from the path of righteousness. Though he never touched the pedal car again, he still had an unerring belief in the correctness of the law and the necessity of enforcing it.

To this end, he was determined to be a cop. His stubbornness from his youth carried onwards. Perhaps in response to the fact that his uncle had been a dirty cop, he strove even more to excel. And excel he did, gaining numerous qualifications and receiving many awards and special assignments. His arrest record was the highest in the Metropolitan Police -four hundred percent higher than the next ranked officer. All of this, instead of making him someone to be admired, led him to be disliked amongst his fellow officers. Nicholas ended up transferred to Sandford, a sleepy village in the countryside, because he was making the rest of the department look bad in comparison. His department is actually quite happy to see him leave, and have either been prepared for this event for a while or were told before Nicholas was, as when he leaves the office after being told of his reassignment, they already have a going away party set up.

His ex-girlfriend, Janine, doesn't seem to be too upset that he's leaving either.

When he arrives in Sandford, it soon becomes quite apparent just why he is so disliked despite having such an exemplary record. He does not believe in taking time off. When he goes to the pub, he is extremely disgusted by the obvious flouting of the law he sees occuring within the establishment. He ends up kicking numerous teenagers out, and arrests people that very night... despite the fact that he has not reported for duty yet and is not working that night. He doesn't even know where the police station is, and has to ask one of the persons arrested for directions.

That person turns out to be PC Danny Butterman. The Inspector in charge of the Sandford Police Department turns out to be his father, Frank Butterman, who runs a very loose operation. Instead of any serious punishment for being drunk and disorderly the night before, Danny is expected to bring in ice cream for the entire department for the next month. Nicholas is absolutely appalled by this, because it goes entirely against regulations. Whilst Frank seems tolerant of, if not outright amused by, Nicholas' duty-minded attitude, the rest of the officers at the station are not so kind. Nicholas does not endear himself to them by being so stern and paranoid, treating every incident they consider to be minor or simply an accident with extreme suspicion. The Andys (Cartwright and Wainwright) both make fun of his attitude, because they see it as him looking down on them for being country cops. That, and they think he's making a big deal out of nothing. Accidents happen. So what?

About the only person who does not think that Nicholas needs to relax, or that he is blowing things out of proportion, is Danny. However, in some ways, he's not much better than the rest of the officers. He treats Nicholas with awe and almost reverence, wanting to hear everything about what it's like to be a cop in the city. He is under the impression that it is very much like the American buddy cop movies he enjoys, especially as Nicholas is so decorated and was a member of a special operations squad, with proper action and shit. Although Nicholas takes offense to that, stating that there is neither proper action nor shit. (Incidentally, he takes offense to other phrases used by the Sandford police, such as policewoman -should be police officer, as Doris' gender has no bearing on her abilities as a cop-, police force -considered too violent, should be police service-, and traffic accident -since accident implies there is no one to blame, collision is the preferred terminology.)

Danny is the first to believe Nicholas when he voices his suspicions of Sandford's unusually high accident rate relative to it's extraordinarily low crime rate. Although this did not render Danny immune from thinking that Nicholas was overthinking things, perhaps because he showed trust in NIcholas' judgment, this allowed Nick to relax somewhat around him. After working together for some time, Danny manages to convince Nicholas to go to the pub and actually have a drink. As in beer. Not cranberry juice. Finally, Nicholas seems to open up to him a bit, revealing why he wanted to be a cop and just why he is so strict and serious about it. To this end, it is also revealed that the reason Nicholas' interpersonal relations suffer is because he simply does not know how to relax, to turn off the part of his mind that is always thinking about the law and what other people could be doing. Whilst being so "on" all the time makes him an excellent police officer, as his record bears witness to, it means he has a very difficult time actually relating to other people.

It is, in the end, Danny that first cracks that shell of Nicholas', with beer and police action movies. Although even when relaxed (or, at least, relaxed for him), Nicholas cannot help but point out that the movies are horribly unrealistic because they don't show the amount of paperwork that has to be filled out if you blow up buildings and such.

However, this doesn't last. With further suspicious deaths occurring, Nicholas finally gets permission to investigate the incidents as murders, which strains his relationship with Danny. He becomes far too wrapped up in work, in trying to prove that the accidents are murders, and that the man he thinks is responsible is the one truly behind them all. When he sees the black-cloaked murderer flee from the scene of an "accident", he thinks he has his chance to prove who the guilty party is, because the man injures his leg as he runs.

Unfortunately, the man he suspects, Simon Skinner, is not only uninjured, but has security camera and eyewitnesses saying he was at the supermarket all day. Whatever credibility Nicholas has managed to gain in the eyes of his fellow officers is dashed when this is shown to be true. However, this doesn't stop Nicholas from trying to figure out who the murderer could be. He is convinced that all of the murders are connected still, and although his main link and suspect -Skinner- has proven he is innocent of committing at least two of the murders, Nicholas is not wholly convinced of his innocence.

Yet, because of this, Nicholas is almost ready to give up. All the evidence points to Skinner being innocent of the crime he witnessed, and there's no way to definitively prove the other incidents were really murders without having someone confess. It occurs to him that there could be multiple murderers, an organised group of them, but before he can do anything about the theory he is assaulted by a black-robed man -one of Skinner's employees. This does prove his theory, and also provides the means for him to find where the group is meeting. In what is undoubtedly one of the stupidest things he has ever done, likely because he was too caught up in the vindication of being right, he rushes in and confronts the entire group, trying to arrest them.

Interestingly, his entire theory about the murders: a complex one interconnecting them all based on the relation each murder victim had to the others, which resulted in a complex scheme to prevent competition for Skinner's supermarket from entering Sandford? Is wholly off base. It actually boggles his mind that the entire reason people were being killed is because they damaged Sandford's chances to continue being the Village of the Year. Especially as some people weren't killed for what they had done, but what they were planning to do (e.g./ moving away from Sandford).

Danny tries to convince him to leave, and almost succeeds, giving Nicholas his car and telling him to go back to London. Yet, when Nicholas stops at a convenience store on the way, he sees a stand of police action movies. This reminds him not only of the fact that by leaving, he is allowing people to continue committing murder and breaking the law, but also that he has a friend there, Danny, and that he cannot just leave him to deal with this on his own.

Which is about when he decides to return to Sandford and open a can of whoop-ass on the Neighbourhood Watch Association (NWA).

Which he does. In fine style. With proper action and shit.

He also finally convinces the other officers that what he's been saying all along, about the murders and such, is true. This leads to him having assistance with taking out the NWA and arresting them all. When all the fighting is done, they can be seen filling out all the paperwork that was the result of the action movie style shenanigans that had occurred in their various gunfights. Nicholas seems noticeably more relaxed and at ease with his fellow officers, and they are the same with him, bantering back and forth amicably.

And it's from this point that I will be taking him, because we don't want him worrying about Danny being shot or people being hurt from the sea mine exploding.

Upon arrival in Darstone, he will revert back to how he was in the beginning of the film. Businesslike. Stoic. Serious. He has no connection to the people here and very little reason to even be amicable in the first place. After all, the government has kidnapped people, which is typically considered illegal in most civilised nations he is aware of. Hence the focus on how he was in the beginning, and not so much at the end. It is possible that the longer he stays in Darstone and builds CR, the more likely he is to become friends with people and relax around them. It will likely go a little smoother than in the film, as by the canon point he is from, he has learned to relax. He simply does not want to lower his guard when he's been kidnapped.

Powers:
-Great aptitude in field exercises, notably Urban Pacification and Riot Control
-Advanced driving
-Advanced cycling
-Holds the Met record for the hundred metre dash
-Also fences and plays chess
-Has fairly awesome gun skills, too
-Okay so really he's just a Badass Normal and most of this section was quoted wholesale from the opening narration of the film

Other Details: Can't think of anything.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Lea
Series: Kingdom Hearts
Canon Point: --
History Link: Birth By Sleep Entry needed only.

AU/OC History:
N/A

Game Import:
Lea spent a whole year in the game [community profile] vatheon and thus he grew up quite a bit! Here are a list of important things which occurred (expanded upon later):

1. Ghost pirates invaded, and Lea helped make supplies for those who were out fighting them. During this time, he also realized his feelings for his best friend, and had to deal with awkward teenage feelings for someone who was already taken.
2. Lea learned about what would happen in his future and Isa's, which lead to something of a crisis along with him coming to terms with the idea of Fate. This lead to him deciding he would do as much as he could to make it not happen.
3. Axel appeared in Vatheon, which lead to Lea having to deal with his actual existence. They soon managed to get along, however, treating each other like brothers would in a way and often watch one another's backs. Along with Lea's surprisingly friendly relationship with Larxene, this has lead him to have an optimistic view that even if something bad happens to someone (losing their heart) it doesn't mean they have to be bad.
4. Some time after this, Lea began to learn magic from Howl. He didn't stay in Vatheon long, however, but Lea wanted to learn, so he tried to apply those initial lessons to everything else he's done. He began to gain greater patience and a unique understanding of magic.
5. During his time in Vatheon and very recently after meeting Axel for the first time, Lea did the rash and stupidly impulsive thing and got a facial tattoo. Because he's dumb like that. However, to this day, he still hasn't regretted it- he considers it a promise to himself that he won't let the future end like it does for Axel. Also, come on, it looks cool! How could anyone think otherwise???? (it looks silly but he won't admit it)
6. Lea meets Stein. Lea eventually goes to stay at Stein's weird patchwork house. This relationship leads to a great many things. They became somehow close, with Lea constantly trying to take care of the older man's bad habits and wanting to learn more from him. They had a close relationship... at least until, after a fit of being stuck as a mad witch from a Vatheon curse, Stein kidnapped and vivisected one of Lea's friends. Lea still stayed close with him, but his thoughts were rather muddled. It turned out that even people you thought you knew really well and admired could do bad things. Lea still has things of Steins' such as a modified labcoat and a pack of cigarettes tucked in it that he tried once (and no more, bluh), and he can't forget the older man.
7. Lea also learned about Alternian troll culture and now knows a fair bit about it! Most of what he understands, however, is that it is weird as balls. Still, that and others have left him interested in other worlds. His already enormous curiosity was only made bigger.
8. During his stay in Vatheon, Lea got into a polyamorous relationship with Isa and Demyx. It started out well, but eventually, things with Isa became too distant before he was taken out of Vatheon, and then the same began to happen with Demyx. Lea does not view this as a failure of the type of romance, however, but with the people involved. (Mostly himself, really.)
9. In Vatheon, Gamzee once went sober and seriously injured Demyx who Lea then had to help get medical help. However, he didn't go after the troll like he wanted to. Eventually, he and Gamzee even became close friends. This only strengthens Lea's belief that even if people do bad things and act horrible that doesn't mean they can't be good... but he can still want to kick them in the ass sometimes.
10. While in Vatheon, Lea ended up getting a chocobo egg for his birthday. And helped Stein hatch a bunch of Chocobos (for Stein's experiments). In the end, even far after Stein left, Lea ended up caring for over twenty chocobos along with hatching an Eevee egg. He has also run a restaurant while in Vatheon, something he found interest in because of his slowly growing favor for cooking. He has become surprisingly responsible when he cares to be.
11. In Vatheon, people were constantly appearing and disappearing as to the coral's whim. Lea has had to get used to losing close friends and loved ones, although never forgetting how much they meant to him while they were there.
12. Oh, he is a temporary Aquarius for silly troll reasons. Don't ask.
13. He has also hit his seventeenth birthday!

Personality:
When Lea first arrived in Vatheon, he was a fairly naive and excitable young man. After a year in Vatheon.... okay, yeah, he's still an excitable young man with a bit of naivety to him. However, now his naivety isn't born from simple ignorance from living in the cushy and beautiful city of Radiant Garden. Now, it's simply born from his stalwart optimism. Lea has lived through an eventful year, and if there's one thing he's learned, it's that things move on. Things can get better.

However, he also knows that sometimes you have to put work in to make things better, and Lea is nothing if not willful. Lea is extremely stubborn when he finds someone or something to focus on. A good case in point is his dedication to magic and his habit of caring for others. Leading from that, he is also a fairly empathetic person who likes to see other people more happy than miserable. It's not hard for him to do, considering he is also a very social individual who likes to communicate with others very often. One can often find him in all sorts of places, fueled by his energy and need to socialize.

On the downside, Lea is still a teenager in the midst of growing up. Sometimes, he can be very impulsive and rash, leaping without quite thinking things through. He is also prone to forgiveness too easily where it concerns his friends and loved ones, even when they do terrible things. The idea of losing those close to him, even with all his time spent in Vatheon, is still something that frightens him a lot. Having a force he can't explain take them away is one thing, but messing things up with them himself is something else entirely.

All in all, he's a good kid. A little clever and a little dumb, but still a good kid.

Powers:
- While not particularly extraordinary, Lea has learned how to become rather proficient with hand to hand combat thanks to some harsh training with the Stein who was in Vatheon. He's very light on his feet, which makes up for his lack in definite muscle.
- While being in Vatheon, Lea has learned magic from a variety of sources such as Howl and Celes Ceres and has also done a lot of experimenting himself. His strengths tend to lean towards elemental magic (the most basic form of magic Howl taught him) and Protect (which he studied hard at and constantly pushed himself towards after events in Vatheon).

Other Details:
- Back in Vatheon, Lea somehow got about to raising animals. This resulted in a freaking humongous herd of Chocobos (most of which he either helped hatch or hatched himself) and one Espeon which he also hatched. Lots of hatching. Lea spent a lot of time around them, particularly his Espeon which stayed close by often. Therefore it might not be unusual for one of his chocobos or his Espeon to end up with him. (Mods willing.)

Probably not all of the Chocobos, tho. There were, like, twenty of them.

Unless Darstone is looking for more birds.

I can hook you up with mad amounts of birds, man.

- Lea has hit a growth spurt while in Vatheon. He is now closer to Axel's height, gangly limbs and all. He's grown his hair out longer, alternating between keeping it in spikes and tying it back in a ponytail. There is also the already mentioned tattoo which is on one side of his face and loops around his neck.

- Even if not accompanied by any animal, Lea will still be carrying a few things with him. He'll have a few lockpicks, a Pikachu keychain, a cookbook, and two scarves (his trademark one, and one that looks strangely similar to Eridan's scarf in color, with an Aquarius sign on the end).

In which Lea tries to be helpful even when a bug.

Any Concerns:
All the birds.
Also, it's been a few months since I had Lea in Vatheon and that is one of the most recent samples I have. If you'd like me to type something from scratch, I can do that too!

Personality: Teddy is not an overcomplicated individual. Defying the "team tank" stereotype, he is generally level-headed, easygoing, intelligent, and difficult to make angry. While he is generally responsible and dutiful, however, he can also be stubborn, selfish, overprotective, and can be incredibly impulsive when threatened.

The Young Avengers, as a team, tend to be relatively reckless and don't give a lot of thought to their actions. In a lot of ways, Teddy frequently acts as the rock of the team, and along with Kate, helps provide a voice of reason to team plans. Because of this innate level-headedness, which likely came from being raised as the child of a working single mother as much as his own nature, Teddy often becomes something of a center around which the more impulsive, fiery members of the team can gravitate. He offers support, protection, and backup to his team, and while he shows no interest in being a leader, he helps temper the others and keep track of their moral compass. Also, despite showing no interest in leadership, he has the cool confidence and intelligence to be a strong force on the team - he never has to be lead around by the nose, understands plans and helps out with them, and has a biting, intelligent wit that he frequently expresses both in and out of costume. Despite the fact that he might look like a typical big blond jock, he is in all actuality a complete nerd, particularly when it comes to other Marvel superheroes, who he generally idolizes.

Teddy has a very strong moral compass, navigating complex situations and showing the courage to make decisions he feels are right in these difficult spots. This bravery allows him to survive through extremely traumatic experiences, such as watching his mother burn to death and being cut open and operated on without anaesthetic "for science" several times in a row. He manages to survive these situations, not always completely emotionally intact, but without being crippled by them.

While he wasn't always so confident in himself, starting out in school by seeking approval from classmates through shapeshifting himself to be more socially acceptable and using his abilities to impress a classmate, he has very much grown into himself by the time he joins the Young Avengers. He's effortlessly cool, having accepted who he is and what's important to him. He shows no shame in behaving in an openly homosexual way with his teammate Billy Kaplan, who he's dating, even in public places, or talking about his nerdy fanboy interests. Even as he learns things about himself and his life that he had never expected - for example, that his mother was a Skrull nanny, and that he himself is a unique alien hybrid, or that his boyfriend is the son of one of Marvel's most infamous heroines - he takes them in stride, learns what he can about the situation so he can deal with it, and accepts them as part of who he is and what his life is. He has a very, very grounded sense of what is important to him, and remains focused on protecting that - first comes Billy, then his team, and then his duty to help other people and the world.

This is actually where one of his greatest weaknesses lies. His strong pyramid of priorities can make him incredibly stubborn, a little rash, and even selfish. Billy is his top priority, and this has caused no end of moral dilemmas for the Young Avengers and Teddy personally. Because of the danger presented by Billy's reality-altering abilities, Teddy often finds himself having to protect his boyfriend at the cost of personal safety, and even the safety of the world. He is stubborn, dependable, and loyal, and this can be a problem when the people he is loyal to are making bad decisions, as Teddy will almost invariably back them up even when he thinks it's not a great idea, such as when Billy decided to go after the Scarlet Witch, who single-handedly wiped out most of the mutant abilities on the planet. His loyalty to Billy has also caused him to be incredibly impulsive, Teddy having directly threatened such Marvel powerhouses as Magneto, Wolverine, and Quicksilver (all of whom could crush him easily), and being directly at odds with not only the X-Men but the Avengers as well, when they threatened Billy in various ways. He has done a number of pretty stupid things because of his priority set, abandoning the responsibility placed on him to attempt to find peace for the generations-old war between the Skrull and Kree, and insisting on being a superhero despite being told to quit because he is too young. This just goes to show that, despite being pretty level-headed, he is only level-headed relative to the team he's on and the fact he's basically a stubborn and sort of rebellious 16 year old boy.

Teddy is also not emotionally invulnerable. He has a lot of internal issues surrounding his family. He has an incredible amount of pent-up frustration, hurt, and loneliness surrounding the fact that he has been literally orphaned by incidents in canon. His mother's death is still relatively recent, and he had a run in with his "real" father, Captain Marvel, that demonstrated how much he craves a relationship with a father figure, something he's never had. When he's feeling hurt or lonely, and when he's not focused on a bigger issue, he can become angry and resentful of his absent parents that he doesn't always express in the best way (he once completely destroyed a few police cars because of it), or swing into grief which is only natural for a boy orphaned while a teenager. This is probably one of his greatest vulnerabilities.

Powers: Teddy has multiple powers due to his alien hybrid physiology.

Shapeshifting: Due to his half-Skrull heritage, Teddy can shapeshift his body into any form he chooses. This includes shapeshifting into any living creature (including humans) and altering his form to include extra size, armor, wings, etc. that make him all-around bigger than his base humanoid form. How big he can get hasn't been shown, but he tends to stay within twice or three times his normal body size on a general basis. This ability includes an automatic body function that moves his internal organs to avoid fatal injury.

Healing Factor: Due to his half-Skrull heritage, Teddy has a healing factor. This basically allows him to heal at a much, much faster rate than a normal human. While it isn't on par with that of, say, Wolverine, he is shown to heal knife wounds in a few minutes, and was able to withstand and heal quickly from multiple consecutive vivisections. This renders him pretty much unkillable except with an injury causing immediate death. How it affects viruses like the common cold and diseases hasn't been touched in canon.

Super Strength: Due to his half-Kree heritage, Teddy has super strength. It isn't ever directly quantified, but he is exceptionally strong for his size, even moreso than a normal Kree because of his Skrull heritage.

Immunity to Pheremones: Because of his alien heritage in general, Teddy is immune to any human-pheremone-based control or manipulation. Whether he's immune to other poisons or pheremones from his own heritage isn't shown, but he likely isn't.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Kamui Shirou
Series: X
Canon Point: Volume 19; arrival at the Tokyo Tower
History Link: Link

Personality: At the core of his personality, Kamui Shirou is a caring person with a strong sense of responsibility. He's been raised most of his life knowing that he would be involved in the end of the world and he never once tried to shirk his duty, even though he didn't always know what exactly it was he would have to do. He knows he's important to the future and knows that trying to neglect or shy away from what he has to do would be incredibly selfish, and damn all of the people he loves and cares about. However, his importance doesn't got to his head. He's not arrogant about it.

He cares about a great many, as well. The Dragons of Heaven and Keiichi, Kotori even though she's dead and gone, Fuuma in spite of everything that's happened, his mother, the rest of the Monou family, his mother's sister Tokiko, and even one or two of the Dragons of Earth he might go out of his way to protect. It works to his disadvantage, frequently, and people around him are often badly injured due to being associated with him and his association with the end of the world. His mother, for example, was meant to give birth to the Holy Sword, though Fuuma and Kotori's mother Saya did so in her stead, and his aunt Tokiko gave birth to the second. This killed both of them, painfully and messily, and Kamui believes, knows, that if they had not been associated with him they wouldn't have died. Fuuma wouldn't have been forced into his role as the other Kamui if he hadn't associated with him, and Kotori wouldn't have died either. He does blame himself for this, though he doesn't wallow in it.

He used to try to solve this problem by pushing people away however he could -- being blunt and rude, ignoring them, telling them to go away or shut up. In this state he was unusually violent, willing to wreck buildings or even kill people to keep himself (or others, though he wouldn't admit it at the time) safe. To him it was, and still is in some cases, much better for them to be hurt by his coldness and rejection than to be seriously injured or even killed for being too close to him. These efforts are forced and somewhat awkward, and people that know him well (or barely know him at all, in the case of Sorata) can often tell that he's not actually cold or harsh, just trying to be. It doesn't always work, though. Kamui is, by nature, a kind and compassionate individual and it's hard for him to continue to shove people away once they've already managed to get even a little close to him (again, such as with Sorata). By now he's mostly been pried out of his habit of rejecting people, especially since joining the Dragons of Heaven, but there's always chance he might fall back into old behavior.

He's rarely like that anymore, though, and Kamui's kind nature often shows through. He can be a little too quick to get attached to people, even though he doesn't reach out to connect with others on his own. He's found a good friend in each individual Dragon of Heaven through various means. Though he can be easily overwhelmed, especially by bright, perky, and cheerful people, he still makes at least a token effort to socialize if approached by another person, even if he's uncertain and awkward the entire time. Anyone willing to stick around long enough to see past all the awkwardness will be impressed, though -- despite initial impressions, Kamui is a very friendly and attentive person, though no matter how well he knows someone he's always quiet.

It can work against him, though. Kamui can be too concerned with other people and not nearly enough with himself. Though he was usually careful to take care of himself, since Kotori's death he's been prone to not eating and taking care of everyone else's injuries while forgetting his own. He doesn't forget or make these mistakes on accident (or not always, at least) but many of them are intentional if often sub-conscious decisions.

On that note, he has a guilt complex that stretches for untold miles. He doesn't wallow in it, but Kamui holds himself responsible for many things -- his inability to defeat Fuuma, the steady destruction of Tokyo, the loss of Subaru's eye, the deaths of his mother and aunt, Kotori and the rest of the Monou family, Keiichi's parents and everyone else that's died because of the Dragons of Earth. He sees these events as his responsibility, things he could have prevented if he's only been faster, stronger, or more resolved. He's constantly driven to do better so that he can protect everyone that matters to him, as well as all the other people of the world. It's his role to watch over and protect them as best he can, so he's going to do exactly that.

Of course, now that Kamui has decided that saving the world is his responsibility, he's gotten a little too quick to take many, many other things as his responsibility, as well. Not only is he going to stop humanity from being destroyed, he's also going to get Fuuma back, and he's also going to protect the other Dragons of Heaven, and he's also going to protect the people of Tokyo, and he's going to do his best to make Keiichi happy, and he's going to try to live up to what he feels are the expectations of those he cares about. In short, Kamui is ruled by his heart instead of his head.

This isn't entirely a good thing, though. In exchange for being kind, caring, responsible, and largely selfless, Kamui has been burdened with a temper like lit dynamite. It can take a lot to set him off, but once someone does it's very obvious that he's been made angry. He tends to lash out, be it verbally, physically, or magically. When he was still trying to drive people away he let his temper run wild, preferring to start violent fights when it snapped. Now that he's trying to keep his important people close he has better control over said temper and is more likely to just snap at them. He tries to not let his temper snap at all, of course, but Kamui is still human, and only 15 at that. Despite his best efforts, he's still only human.

He has a will like reinforced steel, though. In spite of everything that's happened to him -- the death of his mother, aunt, and Saya, the brutal murder of Kotori, Fuuma's betrayal, and the many other hardships that have befallen both himself and his companions -- Kamui still hasn't given up. He's broken a few times, but never in a way that's permanently stopped him.

Powers: Kamui can best be described as an esper, with a focus on energy-based attacks. His powers don't fit any particular style or tradition, and he has no specific rituals he must perform in order to use said powers. He simply wills said energy into whatever form he wish. It typically takes the form of simple simple orbs that Kamui is capable of throwing or simply holding on to while he attacks physically, but he can also form it into crescent-shaped 'blades' of energy that don't necessarily hit harder, but are more likely to leave physical marks on his opponents. Theoretically there's no end to the shapes and styles of energy that Kamui can use, but these are the two that he most often employs.

Kamui's main advantage lays in how powerful he is. He was born to either save or destroy humanity and is easily the most powerful of all the Dragons with the exception of Fuuma (more on this later). He could do a lot with his power. Now, however, he uses his skills much more tentatively, especially since he lacks the ability to form a kekkai of any sort. As a result he appears to have grown weaker over time, though he can still make for a formidable opponent.

Kamui also has some psychic talents. He's not a mind-reader and he never will be, but he has a superb sixth sense when it comes to the other Dragons of Heaven. When one of them puts up a kekkai, he can tell. When that kekkai gets taken down or breaks, he can tell. He can also tell which Dragon raised the kekkai, and why -- for example, during the battle at the Rainbow Bridge, Kamui could tell that Subaru was fighting Seishirou. He's also capable of telling if an earthquake was caused by the falling of one of Tokyo's key kekkai.

Theoretically, Kamui is also capable of forming a kekkai like the rest of the Dragons of Heaven. A kekkai is a protective barrier that only people connected to the end of days are capable of entering and is created by the desire to protect someone or something. Anything contained within the kekkai is cut into a separate dimension and nothing that happens there will be carried over to the real world, provided the kekkai's creator takes the barrier down willingly. If they're killed, injured to the point that they can't maintain the kekkai, or if the person or object they desire to protect is destroyed, the kekkai falls and all the damage that was dealt within it is carried over to the real world. Again, Kamui is capable of forming one of these barriers, but only in theory. It's been stated that he'll only gain the ability when he realizes what his true wish is, and that's unlikely to happen any time soon.

Other Details: An additional note about his kekkai power; the X manga went on hiatus for nearly 10 years and it's getting less and less unlikely that CLAMP will ever be able to finish it. It also stopped before the point in the plot where Kamui learned how to form a kekkai. I included the power in the list for posterity, but I feel like I should point out that him actually unlocking it is a near impossibility.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Billy Kaplan AKA Wiccan
Series: Marvel: Young Avengers
Canon Point: Children's Crusade before the death of Stature.
History Link: Wiccan Wikipedia Entry

Personality:

Despite being a Young Avenger, the son of Scarlet Witch, and gay, Billy isn't too far removed from the average sixteen year old boy. He is sarcastic and witty, often making jokes at the expense of others (and himself), and he isn't afraid of mouthing off to those bigger and stronger than himself, bullies and super-villains alike. Like many other teenage boys, he enjoys comic books, dry humour, and going out with his friends (and boyfriend).

Like most teenagers Billy is stubborn and incredibly difficult at the best of times. He does what he wants, when he wants, and no one can stop him - not his parents, his boyfriend, his comrades, or even his grandfather, Magneto, who is one of the most notorious badasses in Marvel history. On the other hand, this stubbornness means Billy isn't afraid to take risks or make mistakes in his attempts to be a hero, and he will never back down from doing what is right against all odds.

While in some cases Billy's strength of will and determination can turn the tide of battle, combined with his sensitive and emotional nature, the outcome can be dangerous or unpredictable. Billy is temperamental at the best of times, and prone to emotional outbursts, making decisions and interacting with others based on how he is feeling in that moment. This can be problematic when he acts or speaks with potentially devastating repercussions. As the weight of his responsibilities as a hero grow heavier, Billy's mental and emotional stability is often called into question. He has proven on more than one occasion that under extreme stress he loses control of his considerable power and, like his mother, is inherently capable of hurting himself and those around him.

Balancing his desire for freedom and stubborn nature with his assumed responsibility to be a hero and protect others is one of Billy's major struggles as the series continues on.

Powers:

-Flight
-Lightning generation
-Astral projection
-Energy manipulation (beams, force fields, etc.)
-Spell-casting

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Gwendolen Chant
Series: Worlds of Chrestomanci
Canon Point: 'Charmed Life' Before she lost her magic after her big summoning prank
History Link: Gwendolen comes from a world set in the Edwardian era and where magic is a perfectly everyday thing. Coming from a family of strong magical abilities, Gwendolen was a highly gifted young witch. But in reality she had been secretly leeching much of her powers from her loyal little brother Cat since childhood, who is unknowingly a nine lived enchanter.
After recently orphaned in a boating accident, she and Cat lived with their old neighbor for about a year, pampered by the townspeople. Gwendolen received magic lessons from the local necromancer Mr. Nostrum. After some time he eventually involved her and unknowingly Cat in a plot to take over the world, which Gwendolen gladly accepted. Eventually they were sent to live with Chrestomanci, the most powerful known enchanter and a very powerful figure. Gwendolen was eager to use this as a step towards her success, but to her rage they didn't seem to think much about her and her abilities and treated her like an ordinary child. She began to pull magical pranks to get attention, including shoving a forest against the castle and turning a maid into a frog, but to no avail. She became increasingly more angry and overzealous, the nastier side of her personality coming out. Eventually she managed to get her hands on illegal magical supplies including dragon blood, which she used to pull off her biggest stunt yet, summoning a bunch of grisly apparitions to disrupt a dinner party. It resulted in getting most her magic taken away.
That night she used another one of her brother's lives to escape to one of the parallel worlds, knowing she'd be better off there. The process stranded an alternate self named Janet in her place. To her delight, She finally did find herself ruling a world as queen. After a few days and some of her powers regenerated she returned to her own world to finalize Mr. Norstrum's plans, including willingly sacrificing her little brother at a magical crossroad between worlds known as the Archway. Cat finally learned the truth about his powers and pulled them back from Gwendolen. After a big battle Gwendolen was defeated. Realizing she had been beaten and her plans through, instead of surrendering she used the last of her powers to seal herself back in her new world. It is unknown what happened to her after that.

Personality:
At first glance, Gwendolen is a cute, talented, pretty, confident young British girl. However, she is highly ambitious, brash and selfish. Fueled by all the attention she received growing up and being said that she's destined for power, she tends to expect people to acknowledge her talents and to get her way,. She can be prone to tantrums and holding grudges to those she who she finds wrong her, if sometimes when they just disagree with her. She can by quite sly and manipulative, whether by charm or blackmail. She often others to suit her own needs, especially her younger brother Cat, who really looks up to her. Her behavior towards Cat alternates between a motherly big sister to harshly bossing him around. She actually doesn't seem to care much for him, not minding at all about sacrificing him at the Archway. However deep inside she knows she needs him, not just because he's a source of her power, but because she really does love him.
Despite her bratty nature, Gwendolen can hold the image of a sweet charming girl well when needed. When meeting new people, she usually acts coolly polite, her level of arrogance depending on how worthy she expects them to be and how important they would be to her. She can actually often be quite lovely and ladylike, when in a good mood. She is always looking to improve her skills and insists on being taught the higher advanced levels of magic, feeling that she's passed the standard level. She's quite tidy and in fact a fairly good strategist, though in her brashness tends to let some of her plans and secrets slip. She is one of the kind of people who is planning to rule the world soon, and will stop at nothing to get her way, no matter the scheme. But when it comes down to it, she is just silly, spoiled, young girl whose overconfidence leads her to problems and villainous decisions. At first glance, Gwendolen is a cute, talented, pretty, confident young British girl. Powers: As a witch, she has a variety of magical abilities, including summoning, transfiguration, elemental skills and energy blasts. Some spells simply require concentration, down to the smallest movement spell, some involve saying words, and some involve complete rituals with certain actions and items, usually the most powerful and flashy spells.. She can also fly on a broom, and can't drown. Some magic users have certain special abilities, and Gwendolen's seems to be leeching magical powers from certain people, like her brother, and things to use herself.

Other Details: She is about 12 years old, and probably will be seeking an oppurtunity for power

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Ken Amada
Series: Persona 3
Canon Point: After SEES decides to face Nyx
History Link: Link.

AU/OC History: N/A

Game Import: N/A

Personality: Ken Amada is a quiet, respectful eleven-year-old boy who struggles hard to maintain the appearance of maturity amongst a group of friends mostly made up of high-schoolers. He does his homework, goes to class, plays down any interests he has in more 'childish' interests (such as manga or tokusatsu shows), and he's remarkably mindful of his manners. For this reason, people often remark about how 'adult' or 'mature' Ken seems -- especially in comparison to brash, seemingly irresponsible characters like Junpei.

Adding to Ken's somewhat solemn manner is the fact that he was orphaned at an incredible young age, when his mother was accidentally killed by a stray Persona right in front of his eyes. After the incident, Ken tried to convince the police of what he'd seen, but as a young child spouting stories about a magical summoned being that took away his mother, was summarily dismissed. His mother's death was deemed an unexplained accident, and Ken came away from the entire business with a general mistrust towards adults and a sense of bitterness that he had no real outlet for. In fact, Ken has been afflicted with guilt for much of his life: guilt that he had never told his mother how much she had appreciated her, guilt that he had been able to do nothing to bring her killer to justice, guilt that he hadn't been able to save her.

And that was how he grew up -- a solemn young boy who routinely visited his mother's grave, convinced that she wouldn't be able to rest in peace until he tracked down her killer and dealt with him. It was only after overhearing a conversation between two of the other protagonists, Akihiko Sanada and Shinjiro Aragaki, that Ken realized that Shinjiro had been the cause of his mother's death. Ken joins with the others because he wants a chance to confront Shinjiro... and eventually, in the light of a full moon on an October night, he gets his chance.

While Shinjiro, who has lived his own life since the incident half-subsumed in guilt and self-destructive anger, is apparently willing to let Ken take his life, the two of them are interrupted by a third party: a gunman who tries to kill them both. Shinjiro sacrifices his own life to save Ken's, leaving Ken confused and depressed. Unable to reconcile Shinjiro's altruism with Shinjiro's role in the death of Ken's mother, Ken runs off; it is only later that Akihiko tracks him down to try and talk him out of his funk. Eventually, with Akihiko's help, Ken is able to bring himself to forgive Shinjiro, gaining the resolve to help the remaining protagonists in their battles against the shadowy monsters that plague their school grounds at night.

Much of what Ken does is an attempt to appear older than he is, grow up faster, or compensate for his young age. He chooses a spear as his weapon to give himself longer reach, he constantly drinks milk in hopes of becoming taller, and tries to conceal his interest in shows about superheroes. Ultimately, however, Ken is a kid, and he's prone to getting carried away or excited just like any other child -- at least until he realizes what he's doing and tries to pretend it never happened. Ken is acutely aware of his relative immaturity, but by the end of the game, is determined to help the other protagonists even if it means risking his life time and again. Whatever else happens, he's in things for the long haul.

Powers: Ken is a competent hand with a spear, but like other characters in the Persona series, is also capable of summoning a supernatural manifestation of his inner self (called a Persona) to perform magic or attack on his behalf. Ken's persona is named Kala-Nemi and is strong against Light abilities, but weak against Darkness.

Kala-Nemi's abilities are as follows:
Hama: 25% chance of instant death from the power of Light to one enemy.
Cruel Attack: Inflicts a moderate amount of Pierce damage with even greater power if the target is knocked "Down".
Zionga: Inflicts a moderate amount of Electric damage to one enemy.
Diarama: Recovers a moderate amount of HP to one ally.
Hamaon: 50% chance of instant death from the power of Light to one enemy.
Recarm: Revives one fallen ally with 50% HP.
Mediarama: Recovers a moderate amount of HP to all allies.
Hama Boost: Hama skills are 1.5 times more effective.
Ziodyne: Inflicts a large amount of Electric damage to one enemy.
Vile Assault: Inflicts a large amount of Pierce damage to one enemy with even greater power if the target is knocked "Down".
Diarahan: Recovers all HP to one ally.
Spear Master: Inflict double damage with a Spear equipped.
Samarecarm: Revives one fallen ally with full HP.
Mediarahan: Recovers all HP to all allies.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Fuuma Monou
Series: X (X/1999)
Canon Point: 18.5
History Link: Wikia.
Wikia, in Espanol.

AU/OC History: N/A.

Game Import: N/A.

Personality: To describe Fuuma's personality is like describing two separate individuals. Originally, when we meet him in canon, he is Fuuma Monou, a relatively normal high school student. He is a good older brother: protective of his little sister, good at school, helpful around the house. If his sister is too ill to cook, he'll take it upon himself to do it. He'll help out other people for no reasons relating to personal gain-- simply because they need help, and he is capable of offering it. He garnered nicknames such as "the Demon Lord" due to the fact that doesn't speak often or in large speeches, and this, combined his his stature, intimidated many of his peers.

He states in canon that if it hadn't been for his little sister, he may have become quite a different person-- he may even have been a bad kid. It was because of her that he strove to never be a burden, either on his parents, or on her. Being a helpful, capable young man was how he compensated for her illness. Even after the death of his mother, he didn't change for the worse, turning any grief he experienced inward and not showing it.

This is who Fuuma is. Partially through canon, a choice is made, and Fuuma, such as he is, ceases to exist, being replaced by "Kamui". For all intents and purposes, they are the same being-- they share the same body, they share the same memories-- but the personality is drastically and radically different.

"Kamui" exists to bring about the end of the world. He is wholly dedicated to this cause, and goes about working on this task with an almost flippant manner. Genocide and murder mean very little to him, and he murders people in almost casual ways. He murders his own sister in a bloody and brutal fashion, and it does not bother him in the slightest. The wish of the Earth is the death of humanity, and he intends to fulfill this wish, at any cost.

In addition to the wish of the Earth, "Kamui" can sense the wishes of people. The true wish that everyone has buried deep in their soul is something he is inclined to grant. Notably, when the wish of a person goes against the wish of the Earth-- if someone's desire to live is their true wish, then he will grant that and allow them to live for that moment.

As amoral and violent as he is, "Kamui" is not a wholly evil individual. He is congenial and pleasant to people that may pass him by, perhaps even helpful. While he has no desire to become attached or know anyone else, he does not mind idle chatter. He will pass the time with conversation as though he has nothing important to be doing-- and, truly, he doesn't. He does not commit violence for the sake of being violent. There is always a purpose behind it: a wish that he needs to grant, a piece in the puzzle of the destruction of humanity.

"Kamui" has a large obsessive streak. He is intensely devoted to an individual named Kamui Shirou-- he goes by "Kamui" as he is Kamui's twin star, the person created to fill the role of destroyer of the world when Kamui chose to save it. While they were friends in childhood, they are enemies now, and "Kamui" plays his part well. He inflicts injuries both on Kamui and on those that Kamui loves, and is quite cruel to him. He tells Kamui multiple times that Kamui must be the one to kill him, and that Fuuma is dead, both things that Kamui desperately doesn't want to hear.

"Kamui" enjoys solitude as much as idle company. He doesn't seem inclined to get close to anyone, or let anyone get close to him. While he is not quick to anger, he will dispatch most minor annoyances easily-- either by leaving, or if need be, harming the annoyance. Thankfully, it's hard to do more than passingly irritate the man, and he is more inclined to leave than he is to inflict harm on another individual.

The traits that made Fuuma a person are still apparent within "Kamui", enough for anyone that knows him to recognize some of Fuuma within "Kamui". He is still just as dedicated, as pleasantly helpful, and as damnably insightful as ever-- perhaps more insightful now that he knows the true wish of everyone. He prefers to allow people to discover their own wishes, not telling them what it is that they wish for if they are unaware, although he will lead them on the right track and tell them when they're wrong.

All in all, while "Kamui" is a rather dangerous individual, he is not unusually or irrationally cool-- and without hearing the wish of the Earth, here, without having an Earth to destroy, he will be largely less inclined towards violence that isn't antagonizing Kamui, leading to an overall more pleasant, if temporarily directionless, individual.

Powers: "Kamui" has a number of magical powers. He has the ability to enter and break "kekkai", protective barriers that are raised to prevent damage to the world and buildings, as well as normal humans. He cannot raise them himself, but he destroys them as destroying them is part of the key to destroying the world. He has strength that is considerably stronger than average, capable of throwing people into (and through) walls, as well as accelerated healing-- which will obviously be nullified. He has the ability to hear the wishes of the world as well as the true wish of individuals, and when people look at him, they will notice a resemblance to whoever their most precious person is. He also has the ability to walk into people's dreams, although he is not a dream seer. Additionally, he can sense the presence of Kamui Shirou, should he be present.

Other Details: "Kamui" is a little craycray.

SAMPLES Have a really old intro, and then, a really old third person sample (from the same game! which was a sex game so LOL DISREGARD???):

"Kamui" was Not Happy, with the capital letters as apparent as the air quotes around his assumed name. This situation was something completely unaccounted for. Kakyou had not foreseen it-- or, at least, had never mentioned it, and "Kamui" was fairly certain that Kakyou would have mentioned something as major as this place.

He had been close to end. With the sword above Kamui, he was certain that the boy would either realize his wish and make a comeback-- or fail entirely and be killed at "Kamui"'s hand. While one option was certainly more attractive than the other, both would have ended the standoff; both would have been preferable to dragging things out here.

The focus of this place was laughable, really. Such pressures and incentives only to have sex, really? If that was what they wanted, "Kamui" would have no qualms about delivering. It wasn't as though the act would carry any emotional attachments with it, and he was certain of his capability to find someone to carry the act out with, were it to become necessary. No, he didn't object to the nature of the island, merely that he was there to begin with.

This place was not his world. The wish that this place had, if it had a wish at all, was silent to his ears. There was no prophecy to uphold, no kekkai to break. There was not a life or death situation, and "Kamui" was not certain of how to carry himself forward without that goal. Towards escape, of course-- there was no question of the fact that he would do all in his power to achieve that, but past that, what was he doing here? Ultimately, what role was he playing by existing within this place?

Well. He understood Arawn's words, even if only on a base level. They didn't explain the deeper warnings of the place, but "Kamui" hadn't expected the man to do so. Everyone had their secrets, after all.

For now, there wasn't much to do but get settled. Finding a job was something "Kamui" didn't terribly relish, the banality of a mundane existence something that left a foul taste in his mouth after all of this time, but it was something he would do, all the same.

With any luck, Kamui would appear in this place as well. Even without the end of the world to take place, "Kamui" could still be entertained, and still work on defeating the other-- in heart, if not in death.

Considering the device that Arawn had given him, "Kamui" considered it for a moment before turning it on. Perhaps someone else here had the answers that he was lacking.

Any Concerns: EXTENSIVE PERMISSIONS WILL BE NEEDED because Fuuma/"Kamui" will appear as the person the character holds most precious, as well as understand the character's true wish-- but it's easy to gloss over this and won't come up in most threads, unless a character has a particularly strong wish-- and for the sake of gameplay, we'll say the "looking like precious person" doesn't translate across video feeds.

Character Name: Meenah Peixes
Series: Homestuck
Canon Point: Just before meeting Vriska, Tavros and John
History Link: Link.

AU/OC History: N/A

Game Import: N/A

Personality: Meenah at first comes across as aggressive, mean-spirited and reckless, with a violent streak a mile wide and a reputation as something of a trouble-maker. She has in the past attempted to kill certain of her friends several times, even before she blew them all up so they could survive the Scratch, and has been shown attempting to "poke holes" in people with her 2x3dent just because she could - demonstrated with both Roxy and later with Karkat, Dave and Kanaya. She also becomes practically delirious with glee and admiration when she learns of the Condesce, her post-Scratch iteration, and her tyrannical reign. Given that she abdicated from her role as heir to the Beforus throne because she didn't want to be "enslaved" into coddling the rest of the troll population, it is perhaps not surprising that she admires her Alternian self's more ruthless approach.

Meenah is impulsive, impatient and a risk-taker - there was, after all, no guarantee that blowing everyone up would allow them to survive and yet she chanced it anyway, and when she learns of Lord English's attack on the dream bubbles she is all set to raise an army to take him on head-to-head. This leads to much frustration on her part when none of the other Beforus trolls want to go along with her plan, either because they have another plan in mind, they're actively working towards helping English or they simply feel too poorly equipped to be of much help. Meenah's not one to waste time with words when there's action to be taken - or very often at all, if her distaste for Aranea's style of storytelling is any indication.

For all her aggression and insistence that everyone around her is lame, Meenah does have a softer side. She seems to genuinely care for her friends, even if they've never liked her very much (or at least didn't while they were all alive) and even as she's just finished trying to stab him she takes something of an immediate shine to Karkat and his "shouty" ways - she rescues him from having to listen to Kankri's lectures, even if mostly to get him to help her with a passworded section of the dream bubbles, and they later bond over the difficulties of leading their respective parties, particularly in context of their respective upbringings. On the whole, she seems to approach the meteor party as an intriguing if at times frustrating group and is generally nice to them, albeit in a manner that is very typically her. She also shows something of a thirst for gossip, particularly when it comes to the quadrants - and this extends even to those she didn't know before, such as her enquiry into Rose and Kanaya's relationship. It seems she does genuinely want to be liked by people - she takes Kanaya's wariness of her as a challenge and says she's determined to win her over - it's just that, as Rose points out, she's not especially good at it.

She's also not afraid to stand up for people when she feels it's necessary - in particular, she is quick to call Cronus on his poor treatment of Mituna. The fact that she can be just as cruel is conveniently ignored, though she does at one point admit that perhaps her counterpart's treatment of Mituna's counterpart was uncalled for. In fact, Meenah can be said to be bluntly honest whether it's expressing her disdain for the people she doesn't like, her frustration at certain behaviours from the people she does like or when she's actually being positive for a change - such as the previously mentioned intent to win over Kanaya, or when she's bluntly positive about her friendship with Aranea.

Her ability to care for and be nice to the people around her shows itself in a couple of other places, too. On the one-sweep anniversary of the Beforus trolls entering the game, she baked a cake for everyone and she becomes absolutely ecstatic when other people (particularly Aranea) pick up her habit of dropping fish puns wherever they might fit. Though with that said, she's also something of a mercenary character - she'll often look at things in terms of how much money it can make her and she also has a solid gold statue of herself in her castle - which seems to be as much if not more so about showing off her wealth as it is any degree of vanity.

Overall, Meenah is someone who wants to belong but without compromising who she is or the methods she uses. She's blunt and often obnoxious, but when she's not being so she can actually be a decent person - not one to be trusted, perhaps, but likeable enough when she feels she wants to be.

Powers: Meenah is the Thief of Life. The exact nature of her powers is yet to be determined but based on extrapolation of the Thief class, it likely involves somehow stealing life for her own benefit (in a similar manner and for a similar purpose to Vriska's ability to steal luck). It is also indicated that Meenah is God Tier, though she refuses to wear the outfit. This grants her conditional immortality, though this is something that hasn't been relevant for her since she became a ghost. However, assuming she were to be classed as living again it is possible that this power would endure. It also more than likely means she has wings, she just keeps them covered and therefore doesn't use them though she certainly could.

Other Details: Meenah types in the same tyrian purple as Feferi. She types mostly in lower case with little punctuation, drops gs and uses convoluted sentence structure. She does use Feferi's quirks with -Es and )(s but only when typing in capitals.

I know only one of those is anything close to log format so let me know if you need an extra sample and I'll write one.

Any Concerns: She's technically a ghost, though presumably she won't be in the game. My only real concern is how this affects her God Tier immortality.

Series: Homestuck

History Link: This, but the information contained upon it is sparse. I'll write out my own history, if you don't mind!

Much of Horuss' history is unclear, however we do know certain things. And in true Homestuck fashion, it is very probable nothing more will be revealed and that this is what we'll get on him. Hussie is far too busy double-killing characters to talk about history.

So, what do we know?

We know that Horuss grew up on the planet Beforus, the pre-scratch equivalent of Alternia. While Beforus was a peaceful planet (at least compared to Alternia) it was not a perfect planet by any means. Beforus too was host to the hemospectrum, a system in which trolls were divided into certain castes depending on the colour of their blood, each caste having unique roles and privileges. Ideally, on Beforus this would mean that the higher, stronger blood castes with longer life-spans would help take care of (cull) lower, shorter-lived castes. In practice however, this system had the effect of mostly coddling the lower classes, without allowing them true influence. So while the lowerbloods were not killed as on Alternia, they still were considered lesser than those of higher castes. The system itself was rather inflexible, and castes were generally expected to interact with those of their own castes, or those of near castes, while not moving too far up (or down!) the hemospectrum. The hemocism that was rampant on Alternia is as rampant on Beforus; they might not kill you, but they sure as fuck will look down on everything you are just on the basis of your blood. And mutants? Man, lets not even talk about mutants.

As stated before, we don't know much about his life, though some things can be inferred. Much like all the other sgrub players he was created through ectobiology and send back in time. As all trolls, he was raised by a lusus. Judging by the fact that both Mituna and Rufioh have the same Lusii as the post-scratch descendants, it stands to reason that this would hold true for Horuss as well. Meaning that just like Equius he was raised by an odd centaur-musclebeast-humanimal lusus. It has been stated that this is one of the strongest species of lusii, and the only custodian strong enough to deal with Equius' (and by extend Horuss') chaotic strength.

At some point during his life, he sought out Rufioh in the latter's forest. At this point, Horuss did not have a high impression of Rufioh. This in contrast to all of Rufioh's followers who put him on a pedestal. They started hanging out in secret, and noting Rufioh's lack of self esteem, Horuss started helping him by helping him hone his skills. What started off as an unlikely meeting of two people far across the hemospectrum turned into a friendship turned into a romance. A secret romance! Because Horuss at least had no intention of letting his interest in a lowblood become common knowledge, fearing the reaction other highbloods might have to him pursuing 'forbidden' blood. Rufioh, meanwhile, understood this sentiment and was 0k with it. (Possibly in part because at least at the start of his relationship with Horuss, he was cheating with him on his then girlfriend Damara)

Then the group of twelve friends started playing sgrub and things become complicated. Sgrub is an odd computer game that both ends the worlds as well as creates a new world. If the players are successful, at least! In sgrub each player is given a role as a hero of a certain element as well as assigned to one of the two planets: Derse or Prospit. Though Horuss' planet was not stated directly, it was established that several of the pre-scratch trolls match the same dream planet as their post-scratch dancestors. Going by this pattern, it would mean that Horuss was a Derse dreamer like Equius. One thing we are certain of is his title though: Horuss is the Page of Void, matching his dancestor in aspect, though differing from him in class.

The pre-scratch trolls' sgrub session was not a successful one. Most of them failed to live up to their potential. Their session was a long one, last for three sweeps, eventually ending in a scratch to reset the game and allow their post-scratch dancestors a chance at victory.

Aranea states that throughout their game, despite much effort Horuss did do anything that affected their game greatly, either positively or negatively. That is not to say he did not do anything at all! After Rufioh is crippled by Damara, he builds him a mechanical body to replace his own. And when Rufioh dies, he is the one to revive him (back into his normal body!) with a kiss.

Right before they scratch the game, Meenah kills all of them in an attempt to preserve some part of their essence in the dream bubbles. And that is where he has been ever since.

At one point, Horuss meets his post-scratch dancestor Equius and his moirail Nepeta in one of the dream bubbles. Meeting them and seeing their moirallegience moves Horuss and it inspires him to seek out a similar relationship with Meulin. As a result of her advice, he is attempting to become less violent and negative and instead more pacifistic and positive. Through smiling. Constantly. Always. As a result, when Meenah asks him join her in an attempt to attack and kill Lord English, he declines, stating he is trying to trot down a more pacifistic road. Though he also states that if ordered, of course he will join in. Meanwhile though, he much rather work on himself and spend time with his matesprit Rufioh forever and ever and ever.

(Rufioh meanwhile is still trying to break up with him.)

And that is where we are when it comes to his history.

Horuss Zahhak | Homestuck | i still don't have a reservation 2/3

[personal profile] horsepun 2012-10-31 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
Personality:

The Basics
Meeting him for the first time, people may form three impressions of Horuss: he's all brawn, no brain; he's really into steampunk; and he's the kind of person for whom smiling comes easy.

Nothing could be less true.

Just going by the physical, it might be easy to mistake Horuss for the kind of person that depends more on his muscles than his mind, but, as said, nothing could be less true. Horuss is strong, yes. Chaotically so, even. And yes, his body is trained and sculpted, something which he put much time and effort in. However Horuss has the wits to match his physical skills. He's an experienced mechanic, has a passion for the fine arts with an interest in poetry and sculpting, and he on more than one occasion sounds like he swallowed a dictionary.

That is not to say that all of these skills came easy to Horuss. Quite the opposite actually. Horuss has no innate skills. Everything he is capable of, and everything he is, he carefully crafted, pouring endless hours of passion and work into mastering the things he has. This shows his dedication. Horuss may be a lot of things, but he is not a quitter.

Then that other assumption; the one that Horuss is the kind of person to whom smiling comes easily. Again, nothing, absolutely nothing, could be less true.

Up until recently, Horuss rarely smiled. He was a stoical, gruff character, prone to fits of rage and anger that he could barely keep in check. He was withdrawn and violent, and despite his smarts, more ready to solve his confrontations with his fists than through peaceful means. All of this started to change after meeting with his 'dancestor' (descendant+ancestor, it is a homestuck thing) Equius in the dreambubbles after his death. When he met Equius, he also met Equius' moirail Nepeta, and the sight of them and their moirallegience inspired an epiphany in Horuss. The sight of someone so similar to himself kept pacified through a succesful moirallegience no doubt highlighted the very lacking pacification in his own life, as well as indicate a person in which Horuss might find this pacification: Nepeta's own dancestor Meulin.

And then Horuss asked Meulin to be his moirail and was a changed man.

Well... not exactly. He is certainly trying to be a changed man. Horuss does honestly crave pacification and to turn a new, less violent leaf in life. And to this purpose he has been taking Meulin's advice of 'crushing the negative under the positive' to an extreme. Namely, he is doing this through smiling. All the time. Literally all the time. Even if it is physically painful. Because clearly the way to become something is to throw yourself into it 200% while loudly telling everybody that you have become this.

So, why so shitty, Horuss?

Well, first of all there is the matter of their very fresh moirallegience. Meulin and Horuss have been together for a very short period of time, and whether or not this relationship proves to be serendipity, right now the fact remains that their communication and knowledge of each other is not as best yet. Horuss admits he received this advice through 'moderately discernible' mimes from the deaf Meulin. Meaning there is a big chance that Horuss is taking Meulin's advice without certain intended nuances. There is also the fact that Meulin, who should be helping Horuss guide and adjust his actions probably is not as familiar yet with his subtle shifts and probably does not know the most effective ways to help him yet. Crafting a well running moirallegience is hard work, after all, a lot of work and dedication. And these two still have a lot of work cut out for them.

Then there is also the matter of Horuss being a Page. His class in sgrub is the page class, a slow growing class with high pay offs. Meaning that any new skill Horuss attempts to learn will take a long time for him to master, however once he has mastered it, he is extremely skilled at it. Now apply this to Horuss' new change of heart. To become a changed man, Horuss needs a new set of life skills. While learning new life skills is never easy to begin with, it is doubly hard for Horuss because of how he masters things. This means that Horuss will likely struggle with these skills for a long, long while, until he finally will master them and learn to be truly pacified. Until that time though, the old Horuss, the one who was violent and full of rage and confrontation will still be lurking under the surface, leaving him to constantly struggle between his first instincts (to get angry and smash something) and what he is trying to become.

Oh and that third assumption? The one that he is into steampunk. Well, that is sweatpunk, thank you, and you'd do well to know the difference.

The Void
We cannot talk about Horuss Zahhak without talking about the Void. Void is an element within Homestuck, much like Light, Rage or Mind. An element, no matter how oddly fitting at first, defines the Heroes of said element. Void is the element of nothingness itself, one of the most mysterious elements within Homestuck. To truly master Void, a Hero of Void needs to not only accept the nothingness within themselves, but simultaneously and perhaps paradoxically create something from nothing. Void is the element of irrelevance, of obscure knowledge and inability, yet a skilled hero of void must being this irrelevance into relevance.

Heroes of void are much more than the heroes of other elements blank slates of nothing. And out of these lacking innate skills they must craft a personality and relevance, something which is harder for some than others.

For Horuss, at the very least, it has been a hard struggle. His lack of definition has always bothered him and made him strive to become... become what? Anything really! Anything to define himself by. Anything to not be nothing.

Yes, Horuss may acknowledge that he is Void, yet he does not truly accept it, something which keeps him from being a truly successful Hero of Void.

To lack definition, to be irrelevant, is a concept that seems to scare Horuss, a reaction that is easier to understood if we remember his blood caste. Horuss is a blueblood, a member of one of the highest placed groups in society. And while belonging to such a group naturally comes with his privileges, it also comes with its exceptions. The Beforus caste system is build on the assumption that lowbloods are incapable of truly taking care of themselves, and therefore need highbloods to do so for them. This leads to a society which expects little to nothing from a large part of its population, instead focusing those expectations on a smaller group of people, of which Horuss is one. But where these high expectations lead Meenah to abscond, Horuss embraces them, being a true believer of the hemocaste system. He wants to be the best blueblood there ever was, to live up to all the expectations placed upon him, to fulfil all the demands of his caste and more, to be relevant in a society that considers a large group of its members irrelevant. So it is understandable that failing all of this, that being irrelevant and Void is something he fears.

As always, sgrub assigns the element that both is and, perhaps paradoxically, challenges us the most.

One way we can see how Horuss struggles with the void is in his near fanatical drive to be anything but void. He is almost obsessed with building himself and his personality into the best thing he thinks he can be, defining himself by skills rather than actual personality traits. In addition, he also has the tendency to define himself by other people where possible. A big example of this is Rufioh. As their relationship progressed, Horuss started to use him more and more to fill the void inside of him. The fact that this is leaving Rufioh uncomfortable --as displayed by the fact that he is trying to break up with him-- is something he cannot or refuses to see. However just because Horuss is (wilfully) oblivious to Rufioh's feelings doesn't mean he doesn't care. He cares a lot. Like, seriously. A lot. He loves Rufioh in the ways that would make romcom enthusiasts everywhere cheer.

The Highblood
As mentioned before, Horuss is a highblood of Beforian society. This shows in many ways. First of all there was his very high self-expectations and fear for not meeting them that was already discussed. Another big way Horuss' highblooded nature manifests is by looking at his belief in the hemospectrum. Horuss believes in the hemospectrum without question. He does not question it and tries to live to its rules as much as possible. He does not see it as wrong and on the whole believes in the attitudes put forth by the Beforian hemospectrum: that is to say the attitude that lowbloods are simply lesser capable, should not be giving too much responsibility and that they need highbloods to guide their ways. He is very judgemental, quick to judge a person by their blood colour and to determine their worth upon that. This is also nothing secret. He has not be raised to keep this hidden. He will quite happily declare Kankri's blood nauseating to his face, call his own moirail a ridiculous midblood, while meanwhile putting Meenah's blood on a pedestal.

However despite allowing his hemocism to guide his general attitudes regarding people, at the same time, he is also capable of acknowledging and considering members of lower blood castes as friends. Meulin might be a ridiculous midblood, but she is also his treasured moirail now. Kankri might be a nauseating mutant, but Horuss is also one of the few who will happily listen to his lectures. (or at least the lecture that explains why Horuss thinking he is a horse is totally normal and acceptable) And while in the beginning, Horuss wanted nothing more to keep his relationship with Rufioh, a mere brownblood, secret, but now he has grown to the point of wanting to shout his love for him from the rooftops, even if he is a lowblood.

Horuss can actually come across as a very helpful person, having offered his help and services at practically all the characters he directly interacts with. (He trained Rufioh before the game and build him a robotic body, offered to build Damara a robotic body with translation module installed, and offered to build an army of snorting horsebots for Meenah) It should be remembered however that Horuss is not completely altruistic in his offers of help. Yes, he offers help to both low and highblood alike, but when it comes to highbloods there is his personal drive to please them as they are superior to him --though it would be even better if they'd order him to-- and when it comes to lowbloods his offers for help do stem in part from the hemospectrum as well as it has been firmly ingrained in him that lowbloods need his help as a highblood to even really function properly. The burden of the highblood! As a result he can also sometimes do things that he considers helpful for the best of someone without taking their opinion into account. He made Rufioh a robotic horse body without ever taking his wishes into account, which while not done in malice, is still rather dickish.

All in all, Horuss is basically a bit of a pompous dick, and I use the words 'a bit' quite wrongly. But also quite appropriately because they are a horse pun. But yes, he's a pompous privileged douche with pre-conceived notions of people's worth, who doesn't consider himself wrong in thinking so. If anyone wants to try and attempt to break Horuss of his hemocism they need a lot of patience. And booze, probably.

His personality? A horse.
Of course it is impossibly to talk about Horuss without mentioning that one thing. Yes. That.

Horuss thinks he is a horse.

Well, no, that is incorrect. Horuss thinks he is a herd of mythical hoofbeasts. And several hivehold appliances. And star systems and space, and concepts that aren't even concepts yet! But mostly a horse.

A ridiculous notion, of course, but lets examine it further. All the trolls are meant to be internet stereotypes of some sort. Horuss clearly embodies the otherkin stereotype. As a sub-community, the otherkin community is for a big part build up of young people who, for whatever reason, feel like they have no identity or relevance in the real world, and as such latch onto being an imaginary dragon. Because if you are a dragon, you are someone, you are cool, and you are definitely not irrelevant. Really, it is no wonder that Horuss, the guy so fearful of not having an identity, latched onto be a magical pony. In a way it is like a defence mechanism, a safety blanket to cling onto. He isn't nothing, he's a pony! Neigh!

Also, it leads to great horse jokes.

So to sum it up, Horuss is a young man, currently in the process of trying to turn a new, more positive leaf in life, but not having much success with it beyond the surface. He's also someone who fears his own irrelevance and spends most of his time trying to find ways to define himself and be relevant to the point of unhealthily clinging to his boyfriend. And he is into horses. Really into horses.

AU/OC History:

Game Import: Steve is being imported from [community profile] mayfield_rpg where he stayed from late July through October.
When Steve first arrived at Mayfield, he was sort of in shock because he'd been stripped of his Captain America physique, which he wasn't (isn't) aware is a reversible process (he thinks it's due to the simulation; explanation to follow.) He, however, made a few friends who he wanted to save from the horrors of Mayfield, which were described to him as brainwashing, murder, etc. He also met Warren (OC) whose PB is the actor of Hans Kruger, who killed Steve's friend and doctor Abraham Erskine, so he accused Warren of doing so and they... didn't get along. Steve got a job working in the grocery so all of the Mayfield NPCs would think he was a good citizen. Since Mayfield is set in the 1950s and that was basically set to be Steve's life before he was frozen, he had pretty decent cover.

During the memento plot, he carried large guns into a portal to hike up a mountain and try to get everyone out of Mayfield. By then, a castmate (Dr. Bruce Banner aka The Hulk) had already filled Steve in on the very high possibility that the whole area was actually a virtual simulation, sort of like The Matrix, and that their real bodies were "outside" of Mayfield somewhere. Since Darstone is not home, he will think that it is also a part of the "Mayfield Simulation" and that he has failed to escape, unless someone explains that he is actually on another world/realm (which is actually entirely possible for him.) During this event, he promised his friend Mika (OC) that when they escaped Mayfield, since she didn't want to return home, that she could come with him to Brooklyn if they'd allow it, so he will be spending a lot of time trying to find her in order to fulfill his promise.

For his participation, Steve was given back his body. And after the trauma of the event, Steve decided to reward everyone's efforts and to maybe see what the results of their labors were by throwing a block party. He invited all of Mayfield for the end-of-summer shindig, but didn't gather much more information about Mayfield.

At the end of October, everyone in Mayfield was brainwashed into believing they were originally from Mayfield. Anyone whose thoughts strayed from the "norm" were given headaches until they complied. Because Steve's life could have so easily been Mayfield (hilariously, Mayfield's banner is a picture from Queens, NY, which is a few miles from where Steve grew up!) he didn't have any problem being brainwashed. In fact, things carried on regularly as he hosted a Haunted House with his friend and castmate Dr. Banner, for all the children of Mayfield. At the end of the event, everyone's memories were regained.

The following has not happened yet, but will in the next few days, so the following information is tentative (in case any of it is extremely wrong, I will pretend he is plucked before Mayfield is officially "over" and you can stop reading the app at this point): The town residents unveiled the mystery behind Mayfield, which is that it's a computer simulation. Tentatively, characters are "returning home" somehow. There will perhaps be a regain opportunity after this, for which I plan for Steve to regain his shield. In Darstone, he will have Schrödinger's shield until he "officially regains" it (probably beginning-mid November when the game ends.)

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Souichirou Nagi
Series: Tenjou Tenge
Canon Point: Volume 14, before Inue takes Souichirou's eye, but after Mitsuomi beheads Souhaku. Sooo, basically before Souichirou is fully corrupted by Souhaku.
History Link: Link.

AU/OC History: N/A

Game Import: N/A

Personality: Souichirou is a thug down to his core. He's an overt, pushy guy who likes bullying others whenever he can. He's used to being treated like trash and getting beaten up by trying to challenge stronger and stronger guys. His best friend's girlfriend, Chiaki, says that Souichirou would want to beat up all 6 billion people in the world just to prove he's the strongest. Yet, despite his arrogance and abrasiveness, Souichirou is surprisingly humble. When beaten by Masataka, he tries to get chummy with him and learn how to fight from him, quickly considering him to be a friend. To Souichirou, violence isn't really something to hate someone for unless it's a horrendously violent act like rape or murder, which he gets extremely angry about.

He's a thug and a prankster, quick to moon people he dislikes and flip them off to their faces. He made a career in his middle school out of ruining the place with his best friend, Bob, to which they created the nickname 'Knuckle-bombs' for each other. Their goal to prove how strong they were went so far that they joined a fighting academy just to pick fights with the strongest guys available. Even though Souichirou is an overt fighter who doesn't mind brutalizing an opponent, he doesn't want to kill anybody at all. If anything, when he comes close to fighting Sagara Mask to the death, he immediately backs off and says he doesn't want it to be something like that. He openly welcomes people to come back to fight him if he ever wins and he's generally friendly about it.

However, Souichirou does have his sadder spots. He suppresses a lot of anger in his family life--since his mother lost her arm and eye and never told him why. People constantly trash his apartment complex and the door of his apartmentwhile his mother is always out on weird 'projects' where she acts like a hitman to him. 'Get out, Demon' gets written on his door, likely by people who hate him just for being a blonde haired maniac. Overall, Souichirou obviously tries to compensate for all the hatred towards him by punching the lights out of other people to prove how good he is at fighting.

He also occasionally has 'good words' for others, such as when he talks down Aya after a particularly bad fight and in his later conversations with Masataka. Souichirou isn't particularly insightful, but his words tend to be honest when he really sits down with them and thinks ahead of time. Souichirou is also considered a 'mama's boy, since he never really managed to stop wanting to make her happy, believing that fighting could have been one way to do it. His excited look when he suggested that he go to a certain fighting academy showed that he wanted to please her so he could eventually take over her dangerous job as well, though he seemed a bit more sullen about potentially taking on her work, also trying not to show overt concern about her when indicating that she was hidden from him in some medical center beyond his knowing.

While Souichirou is a complete thug on the outside, he's a bit of a sweetheart on the inside and to an immense degree. Though, even his good side is barbed, as he's simply terrible at being nice to people without it eventually leading to violence.

Powers: Souichirou isn't amazing in terms of physical strength, speed or reaction--rather, his power comes from his 'Dragon's Gate', which allows him the ability to process ki more than most people. While Souichirou can use 'ki' like a normal practicioner to fight with, his Dragon's Gate allows him the basis to create bolts of lightning in the air so long as he keeps his feet planted on dry ground to allow for him to connect to the Earth's electric/magnetic charge.

Souichirou also possesses the 'Dragon's Fist', a natural ability of his family which allows him to 'steal' supernatural abilities and take them into himself so long as he can convert them into 'ki' (i.e, he wouldn't be able to take a power that relies on something his body cannot produce). With this ability, he consumes the ability to use leaping ki abilities, water-based ki abilities and claw-based abilities along with a multitude of psychic/ki based powers used in the series. It's likely that at this point in canon that Souichirou has consumed over 100 'Dragons', or powers.

Other Details: The powers section sorta handles that! Also, if Souichirou goes too crazy and doesn't have his powers calmed, he can potentially destroy himself from the inside out.

SAMPLES

He used to watch all those super-hero TV shows when he was a kid, but when he was actually put face to face with himself in the seat of the hero, it was unnerving. Souichirou still felt the sting on his knuckles from sticking his fist out and knocking the clod out, but he didn't do it for any good reason. He did it solely because he wanted to knock out the jackass who got in his way when he was trying to pick off a bike. Instead, he ignored the guy, who said it was 'his' bike until he finally decided to actually grab for it. As things went, Souichirou was simply in the way of one thief who was trying to bully a kid into giving him his bike until the other thug came around and made his silent claim.

"That punch was awesome! Thanks for defending me, bro!"

Souchirou couldn't help but look completely nervous. There he was, facing someone he would have otherwise stolen from without a second thought, thanking him for saving his ass from a bully and letting him keep his bike. There was a distraught look on the guy's face as he opened his hands up and turned them over as if presenting the bike properly to its owner, its chain still dangling from the chain from where it was broken halfway up the telephone pole it was rooted to.

"Y-Yeah... I guess it's yours?" He nearly whimpered the statement out. Stealing and pawning off a bike would have paid for a few good meals so he wouldn't have to go home to store-bought noodles left over by his usually more doting mother. Hey, it wasn't her fault. Cooking was tough from across the world. Souichirou made a face as the kid got back on his bike and nearly fell over--jeez, he was too small for it. Rather than shoving the kid off though, he sighed and placed one hand on the handlebars, helping him steer down the street.

"Ugh, kid... If you don't ride properly, you're gonna bust your head. You're gonna need a helmet, too--this shit's dangerous. See the split in my hair? I hit my head once after I fell off my bike and it's never grown in properly since!"

"I thought you did that weird haircut on purpose!" The kid had the gall to smirk.

You're lucky I don't hit kids!

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Rarity
Series: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Canon Point: End of season 2
History Link: Link.

Personality: As the spiritual representation as the element generosity, it's obvious that being generous to others is her strongest trait. No matter who it is, be it a close friend or a random stranger, Rarity never hesitates to help someone she believes is in need. At least, when it comes to things that she can help them with. So long as it's a fashion emergency or someone asking for help that won't involve her getting dirty in any way she'll be right there for them. It's even to the point where she would tire herself out and put herself through stress before she would say no or go back on her word once she says she'll do something. Others happiness is usually something she puts before her own so long as it doesn't interfere with her deepest desires and pet peeves, and usually even then she gives in eventually and realizes she was in the wrong.

But she's far from perfect and nice all the time, anyone who knows her long enough will be able to tell that. Despite her generosity she can sometimes be highly selective with it. She's a perfectionist and a bit of a neat freak, especially when it comes to her own appearance. If someone were to ask her to do something for them that would get mud all over her, she would refuse out right and complain that it would get her dirty without even taking a moment to think it over. At times it gets bad enough that she's been known to lecture other people, mostly Applejack, when they get themselves dirty around her and she tells them how they should act. She can seem a bit rude in that regard even though she doesn't always mean to, she just believes that everyone should be prim and proper like her. Manners are also a thing that's important to her and she won't think twice before correcting someone on theirs if it's directed at her.

Her vanity is really the most obvious thing about her, as mentioned she simply can not allow herself to become dirty and goes out of her way to make sure she is the most gorgeous pony of all. Her mane is always brushed multiple times and must always be fashionable, and she especially avoids rain that could ruin it. Not only that but she always insists on being the best dresser, designing all of her own clothes and having them more often than not studded with glamorous jewels to make them stand out even more. Which leads to her seeming greedy, her obsession with jewels which also happens to be her main talent that she got her cutie mark for. Even when Spike got a ruby for his birthday she loved it so much that she manipulated him with her looks and charm to hand it over to her so she could make jewelry out of it.

Rarity is also a rather confident pony, she looks good and she knows it and loves to flaunt it anytime she can. At one point when she gets a chance to go to Canterlot, the capitol city where the royal palace and all the high class ponies live, she made herself the most popular pony in town and loved every moment of it. It was even to the point where she ignored why she had went there in the first place, to make her friend a brand new birthday dress. She can be careless in that regard, get so caught up in herself that she sometimes forgets the point of what started something in the first place or something she was supposed to be doing for her friends. Not only does it happen with Twilight, but also when she's using Fluttershy as a model for her designs she gets jealous and upset when Fluttershy starts getting all of the attention instead of her. And as much as she cares about her friends, if it means interfering with her reputation then she suddenly becomes self conscious and ashamed of them.

Despite her fussy behavior and seemingly fragile appearance Rarity is far from a damsel in distress that even her friends think her to be. She's been shown to not only be rather talented at martial arts when the need calls for it but also has an attitude to match. Even when she's kidnapped by a band of dogs and forced to search for gems for them not only do they beg her friends to take her back but also convinces them to let her take an entire kart full of gems just to make her go away. She's highly intelligent and knows how to get what she wants, no matter what it takes. Be it through being generous, faking something that she's not or being as annoying as possible she will get things to go her way one way or another.

Powers: All unicorn ponies are gifted with magical powers which vary depending on the pony. Rarity in particular uses hers especially for levitation which aids her in designing clothing for the most part, but can also use light to create temporary illusions for glamorous affect. As levitation is the skill she uses the most, it has a wide range to the point where she can make something come to her even if it's on the other side of a town and she knows where it is. Also thanks to her dress making, she's adapt at merging materials together no matter if it's cloth, wood or even things like hair. One ability that is unique to her that she never had to learn, it simply awoke, is her talent of finding gems effortlessly no matter how far away they may be. The first time it activated it dragged her all the way across plains and up an entire mountain just to find a large pile of gem stones.

Since it's shown unicorn ponies have a variety of skills, it's fully possible for her to know or learn other types of magic but those are her most prominent ones.

Other Details: None that immediately come to mind.

video;

[As the video comes on the picture seems to slowly shift, a light blue glow accenting it every so slightly as it levitates. The glow is one that matches the glow around the unicorn's horn, her perfect white fur and styled purple mane combined with the eye shadow and mascara obvious clues she's not a normal pony.]

Why I can't very well turn someone away when they're asking for help, not to mention being so thoughtful with providing for me, I simply must have a better place to live than what's been provided. Such a small space simply won't do at all.

[She shakes her head and trots off to the side a bit, it looks like she's somewhere outside the city. With her horn glowing a bit brighter she stops in front of a rock and kicks at it with a hoof, but it barely budges.]

But I suppose the fact that there's such beautiful gems around here more than makes up for it. The only problem is I don't have any way of getting them out.

[She turns back to the mirror, batting her eyelashes and turning on the most charm she can muster.]

Could someone be a dear and come lend me a hand? I simply must get my boutique up and running here and there's no way I can do it without the proper assistance. This place isn't quite like Equestria so it's going to take a little adjusting to. Which will be made all the simpler once I get my hooves on enough of these gems.

Any Concerns: I was wondering if it would be alright for Rarity's pet cat Opal to arrive with her. If not, that's fine too.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Zoro
Series: One Piece
Canon Point:Just post Thriller Bark
History Link: On to the wiki.

Personality:
Zoro is strong. Being strong is really what Zoro is all about. It’s his ultimate goal in life to be the strongest swordsman. His entire self-image is tied up in his own massive strength and he continues to improve it, lifting insanely huge weights to both better his power and stamina.

Yet, while being the strongest swordsman remains his dream and plays a large role in who he is, this dream shifts and even is overshadowed by the desire to protect his crew and his devotion to his captain. In a sense, Luffy’s dream becomes more important to him as evidenced when he was willing to give Kuma his head to save Luffy from getting executed. He will also protect members of his crew when they need him to and has been seen at least once presenting his back to the enemy in order to block a blow aimed at one of his crewmates. This is significant because he risked a very large part of his pride. For Zoro, a swordsman should not have scars on his back as it is a sign of cowardice and weakness and he even came close to death to protect his back and got a massive scar on his chest because of it. Though Zoro often risks death, sometimes for reasons of pride, sometimes for noble reasons, always in a fight which he has to try hard to win…But sometimes for stupid reasons too, like attempting to cut off his own feet as a last resort, deciding to go winter training and getting lost and nearly freezing to death. My god, can he be dumb.

Zoro is also very loyal and true to his word. He promised to follow Luffy with Luffy as his captain and sticks to it. He will almost always follow Luffy’s decisions unless they threaten to break up the crew. For instance, when Usopp left in Water 7, Luffy wanted him to come back with no consequences. Zoro told Luffy he wouldn’t follow someone who so easily let the crew walk over him. Usopp had left of his own free will and if he wanted back, he had to apologize. Zoro doesn’t allow anyone to disrespect his captain and won’t allow Luffy to disrespect himself like that. However, his loyalty to his captain goes even beyond that and he was willing to die for Luffy, sacrifice himself in exchange and takes on Luffy’s pain at great physical harm to himself. In short he’s willing to give up his own dream for Luffy’s ultimate goal.

Tying into this, Zoro is also stubborn. Really stubborn. If he starts a fight he generally finishes it and continue to fight until the battle is over, despite the fact that he is heavily bleeding and probably close to death. Once everyone is safe, then he can relax.

He’s good at reading people and their true intentions and has a very fine tuned bullshit meter. He also understands everyone has their circumstances and will pretty much let them do their own thing unless their bullshit proves detrimental or they really need to understand something. If the time comes he’s not afraid to cut right to the point of something no matter how harsh he may sound. At the same time he believes everyone has the right to be as they are no matter how stupid it is in the end so long as they are willing to accept the consequences of that. He’s very good at reading fighting moves and the nature of someones’ fighting, as well as the nature of his own swords.

Despite all this hardcore nature, he can also be pretty gentle, especially around those that are young like Chopper and he’s seen at least once washing Chopper’s fur. He has a definite soft side.
He also has no sense of direction to speak of, is a heavy drinker and is often found sleeping somewhere on deck when he’s not obsessively training. Though he will read now and again, it’s mostly about sword fighting. He pretty much does the grunt work of the crew sometimes but he’s pretty okay about it though he can get pretty snippy if he feels he’s being manipulated or used. Also even though he’s mostly laid back, he has a sense of pride that can be poked by Sanji, provoking them into a brawl—though sometimes he pokes Sanji first since a part of him loves jerking the cook’s chain. He also never got stuck upside down in a chimney. Never. Whoever told you that was making things up

Powers:
Well Zoro doesn’t have any magical abilities as such unless you count his three-sword-style, incredible endurance (though typical for a shonen) and the tendency to get lost in a wet paper bag with one end on fire and someone screaming “The exit is right, you idiot! Why did you go left?!” But in case you’re curious. here is a list of his abilities.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Applejack
Series: My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic
Canon Point: first episode of season 3 (which happens to be two episodes squished together, so I suppose it's more after episode 2)
History Link: AJ on the MLP:FiM Wiki.

Personality: Applejack is described as being honest, hard-working, and down-to-earth. She is an earth pony who is not afraid to get her hooves dirty and takes great care in everything she does. AJ knows she doesn't need to be the best, but always ends up being praised for whatever she does. She has not only represented Ponyville in athletic competitions, but she has also received awards for her hard work and devotion to her friends. Applejack doesn't cut corners. She takes each day one at a time, and this has made her a positive, laid-back pony who is generally easy to get along with.

Being the Element of Honesty means that Applejack represents a friend who never tells a lie. In fact, it seems that telling a simple white lie, even when it's to hide a present for somepony, doesn't sit well with her. She is genuine, but doesn't just blurt out what she's thinking (she won't tell somepony they look bad even if she doesn't approve of their costume and is constantly telling Rainbow Dash to not say anything rash or to hurt others' feelings, usually by pulling the pegasus' tail).

Family values are very important to Applejack. She has great relationships with her siblings and also takes care of her grandmother. The Apple Family has a rich history within Equestria; they were the first founders, and now the large family is scattered throughout the land. Applejack is dedicated to helping her many relatives and is proud to show them off to other ponies.

Time and time again, AJ has taken the reins as a leader when Twilight Sparkle is busy. She is quick to give orders in a crisis to make sure things are done promptly and efficiently.

Despite Applejack's good nature, she can be incredibly stubborn or impatient, especially when it comes to Rainbow Dash. The two have a fairly healthy friendship, but Rainbow also seems to bring out the worst in the earth pony. Applejack's desire to show Rainbow Dash up makes her resort to sneaky tactics in a race to see who is the better athlete. Rainbow Dash is also the first pony that Applejack will argue with, even when she's trying hard to keep things civil.

Her stubbornness can be both good and bad. While Applejack likes to take things into her own hooves, she can go too far with this and wind up hurting herself or other ponies. Even when Twilight Sparkle wanted to help AJ when she knew she was working too hard, it took a lot of convincing (and even blacking out) to get Applejack to put aside her ego and take up the offer of assistance.

Applejack does not care for fancy dresses or spas or anything she deems as frivolous. This can also be a both good and bad trait. One the one hand, it doesn't take much to please her. However, she played a part in ruining Twilight's first sleepover when she constantly bickered with Rarity because she didn't want to get dirty or mess up the bed.

Even with these misgivings, Applejack is not shy to make friends. She is usually calm and level-headed. Her honesty makes up for her occasional agitation. She will always be a good friend and is there to help when you are in a jam.

Powers: Applejack has no magic abilities, like her unicorn pals, and she can't fly like pegasi. Earth ponies seem to be limited on certain abilities, but Applejack is a special case. She has been labeled the strongest pony in Ponyville and is an ace with a lasso (she can grab an apple down from a tree with her rope). AJ is a top athlete in competitions. She also uses her athleticism to work hard on the farm applebucking or pulling carts or herding cattle/sheep, or whatever needs to be done.

She seems to be a master of trades, as well, as she can be seen baking and selling her wares to the other ponies. She also has some artistic ability when it comes to decorating her baked goods. Her attitude towards helping other ponies makes her always step in to lend a hoof, no matter how difficult the task is.

Apparently she can also play the harmonica and the fiddle.

Other Details: Is the accent too much? She obviously wouldn't use that while typing... if she ever types.

Here is a dear mun sample! It has both first person and prose in it and features Applejack as how she will be in the game (OU).

Any Concerns: Would it be alright for Applejack to have her own pet with her? I figured I'd ask, since Rarity was allowed to bring hers. She is a collie named Winona.

Character Name: Chandra Makisig / The Raccoon (OU)

Series: Kiwi Blitz

Canon Point: Page 257, after her phone call with Steffi.

History Link: Unfortunatley, there isn't a comprehensive wiki for the series. It's not that long, and it can be found here, but I will sum up both the world history and Chandra's history.

The webcomic is set in a futuristic New York City. No set date is given, but it's far enough away from the present that mechs, andorids, and artificial limbs are present (though uncommon and exorbitantly expensive). But it's also close enough to the present day that people still use cars and cell phones and flat-screen tvs instead of made-up sci-fi things. Additionally, World War three took place about nine years before the start of canon, so I would say a fair guess at a possible time is the last quarter of the 21st century.

In this vague, future-ish time, mechs are designed after animals and fit into two categories: military-grade, and personal use. Personal use mechs are usually used for entertainment via mech battles, and it's seen as harmless enough that teenagers are allowed to participate. The main character of Kiwi Blitz, Steffi, is one such pilot, and the series is kicked off when she receives her own personal mech (called kiwibot) as a birthday present. Steffi quickly decides to become a crime-fighter, and the series is about her adventures in taking down both petty criminals and a whole crime organization.

Prior to track 7, not much is known about Chandra. We did see her in one chapter, where Steffi came across her during one of her crimes, but not much was shown of her and she escaped pretty easily. But in track 7 Steffi has to steal back her kiwibot after it was confiscated by the police, and Chandra shows up again and gets a full introduction. Steffi couldn't use her normal sources to get her bot back, since stealing from the law is very illegal and not as noble as fighting crime, so she thought to ask the resident thief for help. With the help of an android she was able to track down Chandra and ask for her assistance during the heist. Chandra thought Steffi was blackmailing her and would turn her into the police if she didn't agree to help, so she went along with the plan.

Of course, things didn't go quite as planned, and Steffi had to fight with a crazy woman full of artificial parts and limbs. It scared Chandra, but she admired Steffi for her bravery, which drew her closer to Steffi. Since then she has become a more regular part of the comic, as well as a source of information for one of the big bad groups.

You see, Chandra is a member of Alter, an organization which has been called "A gang of crazy geneticists and animal-themed body modders." So far their devious plan hasn't been revealed, but the police are actively investigating them, and Steffi has started to pursue them at the request of a friend from the police force. Chandra herself isn't deep in the group, what with being a kid and not up to the whole body modification or science things. She is more of a gofer that steals things for them and they give her nice things that she wouldn't be able to get otherwise. But by the start of the comic she has made a name for herself as The Raccoon, a thief who has managed to escape every time she has stolen anything. In fact, Steffi (disguised as the superhero Blitz) is the first person to ever pose a real challenge, and the two form a budding friendship after they help each other out of a sticky situation one time.

Besides her nighttime activities, Chandra is a mostly normal little girl. She is an only child and lives with her parents, and she has the normal troubles of school and friends and such. She has had trouble with kleptomania in the past, though: one flashback comic showed her being questioned for stuff she stole when she was younger. It looked like she always had the thievery bug, but more recently it has been tempered to the use of Alter. Also, Chandra doesn't know the importance behind the things she steals. She just steals them and hands them over, and she gets cool gadgets in return. Being a kid, she never thought to ask what happened to the stuff she stole.

More recently in the comic, Steffi has started to move against Alter, and she has asked Chandra for help. Chandra has been reluctant to help, since she does see the members of Alter as friends. But she has given up the name of one guy she doesn't like too much.

Personality: The first thing that's readily noticeable about Chandra is how childish she can be at times. It makes sense, she is only eleven and would not yet have been pressured into acting like a teenager. But even so, she can be a bit over-the-top at times, resorting to flailing and pouting to get her way. It helps that she is absolutely adorable and can milk that adorableness for all it's worth, but she can still come off as bratty at times. She also has this habit of mocking anyone she outwits, which can be even more annoying than her whining.

The other important thing about Chandra is that she has this huge persecution complex. If anyone even hints that they might not be happy with what she's doing, she immediately goes on the defensive. She will not listen if she thinks someone is judging her, instead turning into a stone wall of nope and refusal. Along with this, she has a habit of jumping to the worst conclusion possible if something she perceives as bad is happening. For example, in canon a character named Steffi finds out Chandra's secret identity, and Chandra immediately assumes that Steffi is going to use this information as blackmail material. As a result, she was noticeably cold to Steffi until Steffi assured her that there would be no blackmailing going on.

Both of these character traits, her childishness and her persecution complex, come from her past and how she was raised. Being an only child, Chandra was spoiled by her parents and constantly showered with love and affection. Her basic needs were always taken care of, and she never went hungry or homeless. (This is never outright stated, but Chandra's home is a very nice apartment in New York City, so it is reasonable to assume her family is well-off.) However, Chandra has a problem with stealing. She steals all the time, and it's never out of necessity either. The first things she took were little trinkets with no real value, and when she was questioned about it she had no explanation for it. There was no rhyme or reason to her thievery, it was just a compulsion of hers. It wasn't the items themselves that she wanted: just the act of stealing things and getting away with it made her happy.

But because of that bad habit, people started trusting Chandra less and less. It was very frustrating to her, since she couldn't properly explain why she was doing it. Eventually this started to snowball once she got a reputation for herself. When her reputation started to precede her, adults started tucking their valuables away and not trusting her, and she noticed that sudden change. It was very upsetting to her, because she wasn't a bad kid and she didn't deserve to be automatically judged like that. So she just stopped trusting people, especially adults. If they were going to assume the worst about her from the start, then she was going to keep them at an arm's length as well.

This is probably why Chandra is so fiercely loyal to anyone who does show her any kindness. It is not easy to earn her trust, but once someone does, Chandra will do anything for that person. That is why she is so loyal to Alter, despite the fact that they do some seriously questionable things: they treated her like a human being, not a liability. They didn't automatically clutch their purses to their chest and scrutinize her at all times, and because of that Chandra warmed up to them and became friends with them. She is so loyal to them that she wouldn't give them up to even Steffi, who is also earning her trust and becoming a good friend. When she grows to like someone, she would rather go to jail forever than hurt them in any way.

Befriending Alter has done wonders for her personal life, though. Because they give her targets to steal under the identity of The Raccoon, she has pretty much stopped stealing at all other times. This has helped improve her reputation, and at one point her teacher even comments on how much better she is getting. Chandra is too focused on the main plot and her part in it to notice how the adults in her life are changing their opinions of her, though.

That brings us to another facet of Chandra's personality: her single-mindedness. When she is assigned a job or is otherwise focused on a task, she will do her best to complete that task. She doesn't half-ass her thievery, and because of that she is very good at what she does. Chandra definitely has the ability to be focused and driven, but unfortunately she uses those skills mainly when it comes to stealing or doing other illegal things. If she was half as driven to finish her schoolwork, she would be at the top of her class.

Despite everything that's happened to her, Chandra is actually a pretty happy little girl. Once you get past her bristly exterior, she is quite friendly and fun-loving. She's all-smiles most of the time, and she has hobbies besides stealing and hanging out with her Alter buddies. She absolutely loves technology, and she has a thirst to get the newest gadgets and learn more about them. She also loves cute things and can often be found wearing adorable clothes or playing with cutesy toys. She also can be seen on the phone a lot, chatting it up with her friends. Technology and communication are definitely her strong points.

Finally, it's important to note that Chandra does have a sense of maturity to her. Yes, she does act very childish at times, and she gives off a distinct 'spoiled kid' air from time to time. But she's not stupid by any means. Even though she'll throw a fit when she doesn't get her way, she understands a lot more than she shows. She can pick up on subtle hints in conversation, like the time Steffi was indirectly telling her to run away from a very dangerous fight. Chandra understood what was going on and quickly left without much of a complaint, all based on Steffi's tone at the time. She can also tell when she should push in an argument and when she should back down, and she can definitely use her cuteness as a weapon when need be.

Overall, Chandra is a complex little kid with a bunch of problems and bad habits, but she truly does mean well. She's really prickly at first and will either mock you or yell at you, but once she gets to know you she will be your buddy for life.

Powers: Chandra herself has no supernatural abilities, nor does she have any artificial limbs. She does have quite a few gadgets, though (all provided by Alter). She has her raccoon-themed thief outfit, which includes a grabbling hook/claw thing on her left arm. There is also a blackpack she wears, which functions as a power source for the grapping hook claw. She also has various tools she would need to break into buildings (rope, lock picks, etc.) and knows how to use all of them.

Other Details: Chandra passes herself off as a boy when she's masquerading as The Raccoon. She is androgynous enough that baggy clothes hide her true gender, and she doesn't correct anyone when they assume she is a boy.

SAMPLES
A general post of Chandra stealing things from people can be found here.
Additionally, a thread of Chandra being more normal can be found here.

Any Concerns: I was wondering if Chandra could have her thievery gear with her when she is brought in. All it would be is her raccoon hoodie, her gloves and boots, the special hookshot-thingy that goes on her left hand, and the backpack which has the motorized parts for said hookshot. She goes out thieving frequently enough that I could say she went out on a job right after the canon point I'm taking her from, which would explain why she would have it.
